Namaste will pull Caran aside to speak privately.

I whisper back to Namaste

Spoiler:
"Sadly, this is very different from the benefits of fire. If this cancer continues to spread it will surely kill the goddess; mother earth. I fear that perhaps the one who offered such a suggestion of spreading this plague is either testing us or is evil intent on destruction." I shake my head sadly, "I worry that the corruption has spread too deep, too far." I pause "As far as Cael is concerned, he is Chaos... perhaps crazy. He is very old, perhaps old enough to even be of the first court. He has lived for decades killing Demons by himself. The lands to get to Cael are extremely dangerous, infested with higher Demons. His friends may be easier to get a hold of, but their sanity is also questionable."

I ask to the person standing as Oracle before the Oracle "I have been struggling to figure out how to phrase what is needed into a question... I thought all along what I needed was guidance on how to proceed... somehow that my description would get me answers."

F Elf Druid 5th

"I have been having some troubling visions that I could use your guidance on" I take a moment to try to put into words the intensity of the visions; "The visions are intense and foreboding. I feel as though I am taken into the heavens, moving through them as if I'm riding a great chariot across the sky to look upon on Mother Earth. She is a living person, a deity in her glory; but she is gravely wounded; great slashes and wounds can be seen from the heavens; gaping wounds that would kill any mortal; she is not healing; cannot heal; without help she and the earth will be wounded forever." I briefly pause with a sad sigh then continue, "Things are not as they should be, too dark, sickly; slithering tendrils of undeath draining life from everywhere it touches; people struggling for naught; the delicate balance upturned... chaos everywhere. The sun rises; shining and bright; holy and beautiful; it shines on mother earth and she is strengthened; slight respite; but the darkness of death and chaos are too much; the plants are being choked, they are dying; the trees and grass and all flora and fauna shout out in dismay. There is a beautiful face in the sun; glorious but vain; he is distressed by what he sees, he can help; but others, mortals upon the earth must act. The Sun weeps and sheds more light trying to blot out the undead and restore life to the plants but it cannot; they burrow from within. I could see differences in people; some people seem much clearer than others; they are the ones trying to help; noble houses and leaders of men who drive back the scourge of undeath. Beneath them the world rots, but they do not see it; something is killing the trees; something dark and reptilian; twisting; changing; warping..." I trail off; you see tears staining my cheeks. "I fear that with each passing day things are getting worse. There has to be something we can do to stop this; bring balance back..."

F Elf Druid 5th

"May the water and fruit of life sustain us all now and always" I carefully take each that is offered, I sip the water and eat a bite of the fruit "Thank you kind Priestess of Elebrin Loithiel" I pass them back only having taken a small bit. I reach in a small pouch and take a part of my Holly and Mistletoe and offer it to the Oracle.

F Elf Druid 5th

I bow down placing one knee on the ground "Greetings" I stay on my knee but raise up to then say "Thank you for seeing us"

F Elf Druid 5th

prior to this point I probably would have told you about my visions and that I've come for guidance of the Oracle on them - (I just didn't want to copy paste the same thing again and feel repetitive - sorry guys)

I am sure the conversations have been pleasant, learning that we are each here for similar reasons, and though we are from differing backgrounds we are on relatively the same path at this point. I would listen to the sad songs played and to each of you as you tell your tales of your pasts and what brought you here.

"Yes, Unity in this will probably be our best option." I stand and brush myself off than say "Shall we go now then?"

F Elf Druid 5th

I smile and feel relieved that there are others here that feel the same, knowing that we can make a difference in this fight. "Thank you both. Perhaps as we wait for the Oracle's guidance we can get to know one another some or speak of our goals in this worldly plight." I find a seat near those still sitting that will allow me to face them and have room for Eruanna to lay and say "Hope you do not mind if I join you."

F Elf Druid 5th

"These undead are abominations amongst other things and are killing Mother Earth. It is why I am here... I have had visions of her (Mother Earth) being tortured, weakened, drained. I have come for guidance on these visions. We need to stop this plague and right these wrongs. We need to save Mother Earth." I pause for a brief moment to gauge the reactions of Llvenoc, Namaste, Gauis & Thoronhen
Sense Motive 19 = (Roll of 16) + (+3 Charisma)
"If we are all here for similar reasons, perhaps we can join forces to take on this endeavor?"

** spoiler omitted **

Spoiler:
I try not to judge as in my teachings it is all about the balance in nature. I have been taught to find beauty in life. Do not fear, I will not quickly judge you or your friend here, as that is not my place

F Elf Druid 5th

"Thank you Thoronhen, I guess now we wait." I absently scratch Eruanna's head and say "Perhaps we should talk with others waiting in the meanwhile. It may be we are on similar paths to be here at this time."

To Namaste & companions "Well met! I am Caran and my companion here is Eruanna" motioning to my wolf. "Yes, I follow a path as a protector of Nature." I smile. "Would you mind if we join you while we wait to see the Oracle?"

F Elf Druid 5th

I am not sure of protocol myself, but my character might

As we enter the area I bow slightly a greeting to all without interrupting anyone's conversations and look around before approaching the person I should approach about speaking to the Oracle following what ever protocol my character is aware of

F Elf Druid 5th

On the trip up I say to the group "Make sure your weapons are peace tied, we do not need to offend anyone at the Oracle's place" (I peace tie my own before we get there as well)

F Elf Druid 5th

I wait the few minutes for Thoronhen to prepare for the trip making sure my and Eruanna's bags are secured and ready for travel. To Gaius and any others with me waiting for Thoronhen to be ready I say "Hopefully this trip will be quick and safe to the Oracle."

Well Caran it looks like we will have to wate till I can get the rest of my stuff from the hold when the Caption will let us back on to the ship.

"You need to have your supplies for the trip, I understand." I turn towards the Captain and ask "Is it possible for him to get his things for the trip to the Oracle?"

F Elf Druid 5th

I think he's waiting for a response to this before posting further Val

Assuming the Captain agrees with me I head to my pallet and write down the directions to the Oracle in my journal as well as a synopsis of the nights through the days events.

After finishing with that I will sharpen all of my daggers and clean and polish my armor. I also take a sponge bath and get into fresh cloths. The clothes that got damaged I cut around the damaged area to make sure none of the substance will linger in the cloth and then I store the now ragged shirt in the portable hole separate from the backpack. I keep the pants as a spare in it though.

When I am done with all of that if its not to late Ill head up on deck with the new crossbow and take some target practice with it and see what other combinations of the buttons changes the way the weapon fires or hits its targets. I do this until it gets to late to see very well. I then turn in for the night so I can get up early in the morning.

F Elf Druid 5th

What time is it now in game?
If it is late enough to stop for the night
"Would you mind if we stay with the group here for the night? It would be safer in numbers than separated." I shift my bags, get out some rations for myself, then get some of Eruanna's out of her bags for her (I give her hers). "We should take watches to be safe. I will take last watch if you all do not mind."

F Elf Druid 5th

As we are cleaning the slime from people with the wine I tell those around me “In our travels to get here, about north by northeast from here you could see the giant frame of a giant or colossal skeleton in the distance; all signs of a war that has stretched on for over a decade laying waste to all creatures. Un-natural things howled in the distance, about 2am there was a small battle a couple miles to the east of where we camped for the night. The wind was blowing from that direction so we could hear metal on metal and snarls and unintelligible shouting sounds; little snippets on the wind so to speak. About a half-day’s travel from here we ran across signs of the battle from last night. Strewn about were what looked like multiple skirmishes; or small group warfare as the broken terrain is not conducive to formations holding their unit cohesion. There were bodies of ghouls, humans, gnolls, orcs and goblins. The lay of the bodies was strange. It seemed like the orcs and goblins were fighting the gnolls and ghouls and the humans; the humans were also found fighting both groups. Things were strange. There was much blood and gore; sure to attract.... things. The fetid smell of death was heavy in the air. We could see some scorch marks and wounds indicative of magic use on all sides. We did not get very close to the battle; skirted around it to the left and found a path that led us here, but all of it could be seen at a distance of less than 100 yards.”

“I have been traveling this way to find the Oracle for guidance on some recent disturbing visions.” I take a moment to try to put into words the intensity of the visions; "The visions are intense and foreboding. I feel as though I am taken into the heavens, moving through them as if I'm riding a great chariot across the sky to look upon on Mother Earth. I briefly pause with a sad sigh then continue, "Things are not as they should be, too dark, sickly; slithering tendrils of undeath draining life from everywhere it touches; people struggling for naught; the delicate balance upturned... chaos everywhere."
Shaking my head at the thoughts... but you can see a glimmer of hope in my eyes "The sun rises; shining and bright; holy and beautiful; it shines on mother earth and she is strengthened; slight respite; but the darkness of death and chaos are too much; the plants are being choked, they are dying; the trees and grass and all flora and fauna shout out in dismay. F Elf Druid 5th

"Taking them to the ship would be the best option if what we need is there." I start to help up those that need assistance and motion for Eruanna to follow close so we're all together.

F Elf Druid 5th

I whisper to Erkholt so as not to cause panic to the Sailors "My concern though, is that in travel time and searching some of these men could die... I do not want that to happen. Do you have any other thoughts?"

F Elf Druid 5th

"There is some plant life up on that bluff, perhaps there will be something there to counter this slime" I say to Erkholt, I stand after helping the sailors and say "Thoronhen has been a while, would you like to check on him or come with me to gather something that will aide these men?"

From where I am can I see if there are Citrus trees on the bluff?
Spot Roll 13 + 15 skill (8 + 3 + 4) = 28

F Elf Druid 5th

Sigh "I did not mean to offend, nature has its ways of healing..." Seeing the how religious they seem to be I think of the Holy Water I carry and say "We can try Holy Water", if any are willing to try this I would sprinkle some on them.

Hearing Erkholt I add "Yes, I believe we could look for plant life from the waters that could help as well." If the Holy water does not work I would ask Erkholt:

Spoiler:
I would the get up and ask "Could you aid me in finding some?"

F Elf Druid 5th

"$@*%#!" I look at Erkholt "Have you had much to drink of late? The only thing I can think of now is urine..."

F Elf Druid 5th

I look through my bags and pull out my soap to start washing the acid off of people (Lye is a base.). "Erkholt, do you have any soap?" if he does not, I would cut off a chunk of my soap and toss it to Erkholt to use.

F Elf Druid 5th

I start to look around for possible plant life that might be able to be used as a base to neutralize the acidic affects as well as something that might be usable in my Spell Neutralize Poison (don't know if that would work in this situation)

Spot Roll 15 + 15 skill (8 + 3 + 4) = 30
Knowledge Nature Roll 16 + 16 skill (8 + 4 + 4) = 32
Spellcraft Roll 11 + 12 skill (8 + 4) = 23

F Elf Druid 5th

To Erkholt "Seems like there are battles everywhere near here... and they seem as unnatural as this one was. I really hope we can find the Oracle soon for guidance and perspective on my visions."

Here's some heal check rolls if you need them:

Roll of 8 + 11 skill = 17
Roll of 17 + 11 skill = 28
Roll of 10 + 11 skill = 21
Roll of 11 + 11 skill = 22
Roll of 20 + 11 skill = 31
Roll of 13 + 11 skill = 24
(Heal Skill 11 = 8 + 3)

As we're bandaging people I figure we would have some small talk with each other and those still cognitive enough.

F Elf Druid 5th

"I would hope there are no more of those, it wasn't natural."

I take out my healer's kit to bandage my and Eruanna's wounds.
Roll of 10 + 11 skill = 21 for my own
Roll of 16 + 11 skill = 27 for Eruanna
(Heal Skill 11 = 8 + 3)

As I see ThoronHen walk off again I say "Be careful, things are not right here."

F Elf Druid 5th

I take one last swing before I back away (Rolled 18 +7 attack bonus = 25, rolled 20 +7 attack bonus = 27 on confirm) My d6 roll for damage was 6 + 4 str = 10 x2 Crit = 20 damage
M/Work Scimitar Dmg 1 D6 Attack +7 (+4 str, +3 base) Crit 18-20/x2

Commanding wolf is a Free Action, so it should not affect my initiative
Eruanna (my wolf) should be out of the way by now with the command I gave her last time.

F Elf Druid 5th

OK - had to have Chris go through the posts to find all the info, I'm fighting a migraine, so he did the research for us:

Wolf damages to Crab 0,8,7=15, Caran to Crab 18c,8,18c=44

Damages to Eruanna 7,16,12=35 (she started at 48 is down to 13 remaining)
Damages to Caran 17,15,11=43 healed back 31(Chris re-did the count with the bonuses mentioned) so started at 55hp, down 43, up 31= current 43hp remaining)

Knowing Eruanna is in bad shape and not wanting to lose her I shout the command "Eruanna Down!" this should have her defensively back-off

I take another swing: (Rolled 19 +7 attack bonus = 26, rolled 11 +7 attack bonus = 18 on confirm) My d6 roll for damage was 4 + 4 str = 8 (if Crit = 16)
M/Work Scimitar Dmg 1 D6 Attack +7 (+4 str, +3 base) Crit 18-20/x2

Just reading over Caran's posts, I'm not sure she's adding her strength bonus for damage (+4 if I read her atack stuff properly). Also the +11 for my heal spell came from 5 points for my level, 6 points from the augment healing feat. Cheers

I thought I was forgetting something. I haven't added the damage bonus to any of them. Thank you Erkholt!

F Elf Druid 5th

"Thank you Erkholt for your healing through Moradin!" I say as I prep for the next attack.

F Elf Druid 5th

I attack once more (hoping not to get hit again or I'll have to back out after this one).

(Rolled 19 +7 attack bonus = 26, rolled 16 +7 attack bonus = 23 on confirm) My d6 roll for damage was 5. Erkholt reminded me I've been forgetting my Strength Bonus of +4 to my damage, so this would be roll of 5 +4 = 9
M/Work Scimitar Dmg 1 D6 Attack +7 (+4 str, +3 base) Crit 18-20/x2

For Eruanna I Rolled a 15 + 7 attack bonus? = 22; if she hit, her damage roll on d6 is 4 +3bite = 7

"Ow!" Thinking to myself, the boys had better jump in soon, two more hits like that and I'm a gonner...

M/Work Scimitar Dmg 1 D6 Attack +7 (+4 str, +3 base) Crit 18-20/x2

Rolled a 16 + 7 attack bonus? = 23 for Eruanna, don't know if she hit; if she did, her damage roll on d6 is 5 +3bite = 8

I assume I'm too close to shoot the bow.
I use my Scimitar and attack.

(Rolled a 20 +7 attack bonus = 27, rolled 17 +7 attack bonus = 23 on confirm, don't know if that confirms Crit) My d6 roll for damage was 5 don't know total damage because that'll depend if it was a Crit.

M/Work Scimitar Dmg 1 D6 Attack +7 (+4 str, +3 base) Crit 18-20/x2

Rolled a 2 for Eruanna, so I seriously doubt she hit.

Too weird - I rolled a 4 as well.

F Elf Druid 5th

I smile and say "I appreciate the offer, but if they are dangerous, I think I should be the one to test them..." I pull out my Scimitar, raise an eyebrow then say "after all, aren't you a healer?" I cautiously step forward to tap one of the flowers with the side of the blade. I am prepared to fight, but do not want to harm the plants if they are not harmful to us.

F Elf Druid 5th

"I am at a bit of a loss here..." still somewhat studying the plants from afar, "It seems like we're missing something. There is something odd going on here, the town appears vacant, but some things just do not add up. These two odd plants may be a part of the issue, or they could just coincidentally be here..." shaking my head in disbelief, "I still think it's related."

F Elf Druid 5th

I wait for others to come nearer, I do not get much closer to the plants and I have Eruanna stay near me with a hand gesture.

To those near me I say "I have never seen or heard of anything like these plants. Most plants can not survive in salt water and sand. These may trap and sustain from animals, but I am not sure."

I continue to study them for the moment from afar wishing I had paper and coal to document the info and try to memorize what I can of them to ask about to others later.

I look briefly about and when I see the fey near enough I say to her "You may want to stay back from these plants, I fear they may do you harm." I pause and add "Have you ever seen anything like them or know anything about them?"

Heal 18 = Roll of 7 + 11 skill [= 8 + 3 (in case I need it)]

F Elf Druid 5th

I look at Eruanna back away and say just above a whisper to her "It'll be OK girl." To those nearest me, still quietly "This feels off. We should head her warnings," motioning towards Eruanna, "is there anyone in this group who can check for traps?"

F Elf Druid 5th

Seeing this as a warning that something is not right, and remembering that this is the building that looked earlier to possibly be inhabited "Careful. Earlier I thought I saw movement in this building... well, more like someone stopping movement of the shutters." I too search to see what I can without getting in others way and being cautious.

F Elf Druid 5th

"I would not mind joining you, but I do have pressing business to attend to... maybe we can discuss this as we walk or over a meal?"

I start to walk with the group towards the buildings speaking mainly to Erkholt and Thoronhen, but in a way that addresses those who want to partake in the conversation.

"I have been having some worrisome visions of late and I need the guidance of the Oracle who is supposed to be near here... there is trouble brewing in the world and I need to help bring things back into balance... maybe you and your group can assist me with this as well?"

F Elf Druid 5th

Nodding back, I say "Greetings Erkholt Grugn and ThoronHen, I am called Caran Lith Draug, but you can call me Caran," gesturing to my companions "my wolf companion here is Eruanna, and this is Gaius Nepos." I relax a bit.

"Indeed the timing seemed just right, we just reached the coast here in our travels as your ship was pushed ashore. What brings you here?" I absently scratch Eruanna's head briefly as I talk letting her know I feel these to be a friendly group.

F Elf Druid 5th

I smile at the little one... "I did not realize you could hear me so well from so far with all the waves crashing." I shift and put my weapons away but keep them with quick access in case I need them again soon. "I'm called Caran Lith Draug, but you can call me Caran." Knowing what I do of fey, arguing the point of the boiling pink waters being unnatural would get me no where quickly. "What brings your party here?"

F Elf Druid 5th

I watch tentatively and remain prepared for battle. "None of this is natural... the waters, the creatures... it's a blight upon the world." I contemplate how things can be brought back into balance. How to right the wrongs... I remember some things my Grandfather told me.

"This reminds me; My grandfather was born into a difficult time... during wars where friends became enemies. He never learned the bitterness many did towards the one time friends of our people. As he grew he asked questions about everything trying to learn where things come from, how things grow, how balance is brought to nature... When my grandfather was initiated into the path of the Druid he was given a secret name which meant "He Who Asks Questions". All these years later I think of him more as "One Who Answers". It was my grandfather is who taught me the words and legends of the blessings of nature, of the holy people, the people of the earth. He taught me how to live, taught me how things change, how to adapt. He taught me that the only real goal for us in life was beauty... that beauty was found only in harmony, and that this harmony of nature was a matter of dazzling complexity. He told me "When the dragonfly moves, know that something has moved it. Know that its movement affects the flight of the robin. That effects the flight of the raven which deflects the eagle from the sky. The eagle's stiff wing bends to the will of the wind. Know that all of this affects you and me... as well as the flea on the wolf and the leaf on the mighty oak." That had always been the point of the lesson... Interdependency of nature. Every cause has its effect, every action a reaction, a reason for everything. In all things a pattern, and in this pattern, the beauty of harmony. Because of this, we learn to live with good and evil, by understanding it, by reading its cause... by finding its balance... and with this we also learned gradually and methodically, if one was lucky, to always "go in beauty," to always look for the pattern, and to find it. The problem now is that the balance is off and I am trying to find the reason, the root cause... these visions are becoming intense and I still need to find the Oracle of Delphi for some clarification... some direction." Thinking outloud, more to myself I say "Maybe the people on this ship can help me on my way... can help restore the balance of nature with me and save Mother Nature."

if it does, I rolled a 6 on the d6 - using my bow:
M/Work Composite Elven Short Bow (str 18) Dmg 1 D6 +4 Crit x3 Range Inc 70'

ok - second shot:

Base Attack 3 + D20 roll (18) + Dex (+4) = 25 (I forgot my dex on previous roll & Chris (CAT) had to remind me)
I rolled a 4 on the d6 - using my bow:
M/Work Composite Elven Short Bow (str 18) Dmg 1 D6 +4 Crit x3 Range Inc 70'

ok; shoot and move in preround; what is your initiative round action; are you discussing tactics with Rama? if so; please do so; let me know what your action will be; will count down init in a bit.

I still need some initiatives; like Gauis and Caran; if Gauis doest post; I will just have him guard Caran and go on her initiative.

I watch the movement of the ship into the bay; seeing the Ship shoved onto the shore and creatures coming out of the boiling water attacking the passengers; I realize the passengers will need assistance. If I'm not in range (within 70'), I move to within range, then take a shot at the nearest creature to me. (I hope to draw the one I hit towards us so Eruanna can assist with the attack)

Caran and Gaius move down the path; it is well used and is not very difficult; the path continues past some apparently abandoned houses to either side; weeds and grass overgrown; and other signs of neglect are evident.

the path comes to a three way split; a signpost once stood here; in the sand and grass a few feet away; you see the rotted and broken signpost; one sign is attached; the other three are laying on the ground easily found with taking a 10 on search:

Dallia 7 DM
Delphi 12 DM
Amphipolos 17 DM
Perpolipos 57 DM

there is no way to tell which sign pointed which way.

I sigh... then quietly say "I hope we can find someone willing and able to give us correct direction to Delphi."
