wow just wow after actually reading what the community has put forth on the matters its VERY clear heighten spell doesnt have a spell slot cost as other metamagics do it changes its effective level to whatever level u want as long as u can cast it allowing you to cast a charm person spell with dc range from (DC 11-19 + sbility modifier) and what ever dc you chose is the strength of the spell and the slot REQUIRED to cast it in.
When combining with other metamagics make it easy for yourself fireball 3 lvl + empower (2)= 5th spell slot required
Fireball 3 lvl + heighten(2 chosen) = 5th spell slot required BECAUSE its a 5th lvl spell

and if your still having problem just ask yourself CAN I CAST a 9th level spell from a 1st level spell slot and if the basic presumption of fair play says NO then you can realize you can't get something for nothing

the only class which allows for the BS people have been spewing is the SANDSHAPER prestige class from sandstorm Improved dust magic and greater dust magic allows 3-5 uses per day to cast and combine metamagic feats on a spell as u cast them but does not require the use of a higher level slot which stacks with heighten spell ergo you could cast an empowered maximized 9th level fireball which equals 90 dmg with DC of 19+ ability modifier BUT did i mention you can only do that if in some sort of desert or wasteland terrain

" I also prohibit the Feral template and anything with more than two arms, but that's another matter. [/QUOTE wrote:

Hey Drain leave characters with more than two arms alone cause ive been playing for a long time and so far the best character i have made combat/stealth wise is a Thri-Kreen ninja/fighter so watch it cause he could slap you 4 times before you realized he bit you

Thri-Kreen ninja well because i would never need sleep i have an exoskeleton and i can jump and do acrobatics like you wouldnt believe not to mention they live long.

I would wish for Immortality eg. nothing can kill me but i can kill myself that way once everyone one is dead and im all alone and theres no one to play dnd with, i can kill myself and be done with it ending the human race.

Callak Remier is the name of my first DnD character a elf wizard i have since used variations of the name on several gaming communitys and well though the character didnt live long he shall be remembered to a testament to those players who believe they are unlucky for they are not. cause Callak Remier met his end in the first of 5 surprise rounds against a horde of 50 rats.

So what scares YOU?

I may be new to the messaging board but im a long time Dm sometimes feels like to long and well really for a good horror campaign you have to set the mood from the get go, cellphones off no food or water allow notify before hand so they eat before coming. play by candlelight in the middle of the night no music so just your voice can be heard. once the mood is set get everyone to get into there char, speak only in whispers, and then the fun part most people are scared of spiders and if your running a low level cmpaign they still are a challenge, focus on monsters that limit characters actions, over damage out put ettercaps are good cause they spit webs thus limmiting movement and spiders venom to lower strength this usually instills a sense of fear that there characters are dieing and they are becoming weaker and weaker. dont be afraid to through in a few traps and scarry loacles. in a old adventure of mine i had a fake door trap open into a pit where the party fell and was seperated in a maze full of undead and one big spiders nest. i had 2 PCs land in the spiders nest containing 2 ettercaps a dozen spiders and a harpoon spider, whilst the others fell into a maze, one fell beside an illusionary wall and once he oriented himself was attacked from behind through the illisionary wall by a lone spider, once the spider was killed i had him chased down by a hungry umberhulk into the spiders nest, the other lone mage was attacked by a dozend or so zombies some ogre zombies, whe eventually falls through a secret 1way door into a group of ghouls then runs for the spiders nest. so when the 2 Pc in the spiders nest see there friends come rushing in to save them they are initially relieved up until the monsters chasing them show up. that was a hard fough battle with all the cohorts dieing and the priest stabilizing the wizard and the rogue. but it scared the s%@$ out of them right up till the last spider dropped. and if you bring along a few cohorts dont be a afriad to kill them or event the party clown if they piss you off. make sure youu bring cohorts in a horror campaign. isolation is a big thing especially in the dark alone. so with those help full tips and a few examples (those where my ideas i made those up) you should be able to make a pretty scary adventure. goodluck and good gaming.

Hey, Ive been a longtime DnD gamer player for 8 years DM for 6 and well i for the most part create my own adventures until only recently have i started to use modules. Though now that i have i start to realize the over all most adventures are singular and unvaried usually set towards the common races elfs, dwarfs, gnomes, haflings, and the like. I have always been fasinated with the idea of being the monster the creature even now i have several campaigns where i dm or am the dragon, the demon, the Thri kreen. and i would like to see modules created towards racial groups beyond the normal. Thank you thats all i have to say
