Caius Emberborne was born in the city of Magnimar, a bustling metropolis known for its blend of cultures, magic, and intrigue. Though his appearance is mostly human, Caius’s heritage as an Ifrit has always set him apart. His unusual, fiery eyes have been both a mark of fascination and suspicion among those who encounter him. Caius’s father was a human warrior who served as a guard in the city’s militia, while his mother was an Ifrit sorceress who vanished mysteriously when Caius was young. He grew up with his father, learning the art of combat and the importance of discipline.

As Caius matured, he discovered his natural affinity for fire and an intense drive for justice. The fiery blood of his Ifrit ancestry and the warrior's training from his father made him an exceptionally skilled Slayer. However, his mother’s disappearance has always haunted him, fueling a deep-seated desire to uncover the truth and protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Driven by this purpose, Caius began working as a bounty hunter and monster slayer in Magnimar, tracking down criminals and creatures that threatened the peace of the city. His reputation as a relentless hunter grew, and he became known as “The Ember Blade” due to the fiery glow in his eyes and the searing intensity of his greatsword strikes.

Though he seeks the truth and justice, Caius operates within a strict code of conduct. His father’s teachings instilled in him a deep respect for discipline and order. He follows his personal code, which emphasizes honor and duty, above all else.

He follows Nethys, seeking knowledge and understanding of the duality of magic. Nethys’s neutrality allows Caius to balance his Ifrit powers with his human upbringing.

Caius Emberborne stands at a solid 6 feet tall, his frame muscular and honed from years of relentless training and battle. His skin is a warm bronze tone, reminiscent of embers cooling in a dying fire, subtly hinting at his Ifrit heritage. Despite his mostly human appearance, there is an otherworldly intensity about him, particularly in his eyes, which are a striking molten orange. These eyes seem to glow faintly, especially when his emotions are heightened or when he channels the inner fire of his ancestry.

His face is rugged and angular, with high cheekbones and a strong jawline that give him an imposing, almost statuesque presence. His hair, thick and black as midnight, is cropped short, with a few stray locks falling over his forehead. On close inspection, his hair seems to have an occasional hint of deep red, like the last flicker of a flame.
