I've read both Perdido Street Station and The Scar, and I really enjoyed them... now I'm reading The Sword of Truth series and the Wheel of Time series at the same time (crazy me) so someday, someday, I'll pick up The Iron Council for sure.

I'm sold to China Miéville world, and that mostly because of two words: POSSIBLE SWORD... awesome.

Me too! I'm Canadian and I miss the poster from the last Dragon... even if the bag was sealed and everything.

So far we have been playing the SCAP for a little bit more than a year, and we are about to begin Zenith Trajectory (yeah yeah we're not fast). So far we've had:

1 death in Life Bazaar (shifter rogue crushed by automaton)
3 deaths in Flood Season (drow fighter killed by the zombie ogres, then by the t-rex skeleton + halfling favored soul shred to pieces by the same t-rex)

Not so bad, not so bad!

Roughly translated in english (from the original french), my players are the "Trial's Warriors"... its sounds funny in english and its sound silier in french (les Guerriers de l'Épreuve).

Dont ask me what the actual "trial" is, I have no idea, and I think they do not as well...

The funnier about it is that when they introduced themselves, and that cannot really be translated in english (but I'll try) is that one player says "We are the Warriors..." and another one says in a squeaky voice "... of the Trial!". So everybody in Cauldron know them that way, so when they make a public apparition, the people on the street yell "It's the warriors... of the trial!!"

When I was in elementary school (in the 90') I played Magic during most of those years. When I was about 10, I went on a school trip for several days with lots of other kids and some teachers.
One night, I was playing Magic with the teacher, trying to show how its played to other kids (who were more or less interested). Then something happened. The teacher asked us "Did any of you ever played Dungeons and Dragons?" Everybody said no, so he got out some WEIRD dice and some paper, and give us characters. Mine was a fighter I think. And that's how I was introduced to D&D on a cold night of february.
Right after that I went to play the Dark Eye, then I developped my own roleplaying game at about 13-14 (yeah I was a pretty smart kid!)

So I played my own game until I discovered DD3. I was 17, just got my first job and my first pay. So I bought the three core books my it.
I am now 21, have played D&D2e, DD3, D&D 3.5, some Vampire (but didn't like it), some Call of Cthulhu (but didn't like to DM it) and the Enemy Within Warhammer Campaign (and liked it a lot!), plus I'm currently working of the 5th edition of my own rpg. So I guess I'm a young player but I feel old at the same time...

'nuff said!

Will all of the 96 pages be used for the actual book or will a lot of them be sacrified on the altar of publicity?

Just wondering ;D

This Monday, live from Montreal Quebec the Trial's Warriors will make their return in Cauldron after no less thant FOUR months without gaming!

Our 5th Shackled City game (my PCs are still doing Life's Bazaar, but they should finished it soon) is scheduled for Monday afternoon, and will likely go until late, late in the evening.

I just received my Dungeon #139... and its SWEET... the Sasserine map is just AWESOME! 2 thumbs up for Paizo!

BUT... I still didn't receive my #138, even though a replacement copy have been sent to me on August 29 (one month after the initial shipping)... I'm getting nervous here guys.

I'm 6' 230 lbs... mostly muscles but some fat too. People actually tells me that I'm physically impressive (yeah!)

Well... my first memory of D&D... actually I didn't start roleplaying with D&D. I started with "The Black Eye" (in French "L'Oeil Noir"), a German roleplaying game that I picked up books by books at a used books library. Anyway, D&D was introduced to me by a friend in elementary school, somewhere around 1996-97. We started by playing Magic, then he made me read some Dragonlance books, then someday he brought me the Red Box (!!) and said something like "Since you're a newbie to D&D, we'll start with the First Edition!" So I read the books.... and here am I, in 2006, being a DM in 3.5 edition.

I'm currently doing the first of a four-year degree in education (social science)... I'm actually an torturer in making!

Well they are usually mad at me when it happens, because they believe almost ANYTHING any important NPC tell them :D... Sometime it's really hard no to laught at them but hey, I'm a nice DM so I don't do it.

Yup that's right my players are quite gullible.

We're supposed to start the SCAP around March, 'cause we're currently finishing a little Cthulhu campaign... however, I have some characters ready, and here they are:

- Elf Figther (ok, ok the guy is a newbie, and he just saw LotR)
- Meanad Monk
- Warforged Cleric
- Warforged Sorcerer
- Druid Human

I will now add a Human Bard and a Soulknife Xeph!

What part of Québec do you live? I'm in Montréal.

Ultradan

I'm also in Montréal, on Nun's Island actually (that's just south of Verdun!)

Just like Ultradan, I live in Québec, and even if my english writing and speaking skills aren't top-notch, I'm able to read anything in english, just like if it was in french, thanks to all the RPGs I've played in the last 10 years.
I also have the same problem than Guennar: we have french D&D books here, but they're much more expensive than the english ones. I try to get the french ones when I can, but usually I go for the originals, since a lot of them aren't traducted. But, then again, I have to traduct everything to my english-illiterated friends!
Just my 2 cents!

Et un gros salut à mes concitoyens!
