I have written several emails to no avail. The system seems to be rejecting my payment method and will not let me enter my full credit card info to fix the issue. I had the same problem in September.

I have a small curiosity, since the Synth says that you use your creatures physical ability scores when fused (as opposed to gaining some kind of bonus to your own), how does that interact with the number of uses of mythic power a character would get per day (if either dex, str or con were to be used). I know a temporary modifier must be used for a certain period of time to count for abilities like this, but since this is a replacement what would happen?

I just wanted to know if the Elf Blood racial trait allowed half elves to take the Spire Defender archetype from Inner Sea Magic in a PFS game.

Sczarni

I was wondering if someone had any idea of what would the CR value of the ability be. In other words what would be the CR adjustment to apply a kind of golem template to a random creature.

Well this weekend I finally had a chance to test the Summoner and witch. It seems fair to point out that the testing of the witch was mostly an accident, as one of my regular players got sick and a friend of mine who was just hanguing out with us (never played D20 before) decided he wanted to play the game. So I helped him make a witch.

The summoner was to be the second encounter in a changed version of Michael kortes´ the Pact Stone Pyramid. The setting of the encounter was a 40 by 50 room (20ft ceiling) with a statue like eidolon sitting in the middle with it´s face covered by a black veil. The Summoner awaited invisible at one of the room´s corners.
The Summoner was a lvl 9 outsider (just for flavor, no outsider abilities really) whose only propouse was to test how smart any intruders were, for this he formulated a ridedle, and once 4 wrong answers were given the summoner activated his wand of darkness and the eidolon came into action.

The Party.
- Half Elf Witch (fortune, misfortune, evil eye and cackle hexes)
- Half Elf Sorcerer/Fighter
- Thiefling Abyssal Sorcerer
- Human Warlock (homebrewed fey pact warlock, basically a gish)
- Human Rogue
- Human Ranger (archer)

The Combat. (i have a terrible memory, so i will try to be as specific as psible with this one)

When the darkness was dropped chaos ensued among the party´s ranks. There was a lot of shouting to either fall back into the previous corridor or stay and fight.

Those who tried to fall back into the corridor seemed safe untl the summoner dropped black tentacles into it making it extremly hard.

The Warlock. His job was made easy after almost being dropped by an Attack of Op to use his dust of disapperance, after that he mostly moved blindly around the battlefield dispelling the darkness and tentacles whenever possible.

The witch. Even for a player with no experience whatsoever the witch performed greatly. During a turn with the lights on he glitterdusted the eidolon evenning the playfield. The followed with crushing dispair while the darkness wa sin place. He gave fortune to the archer and cackled every round to give him a better chance to avoiudnt eh miss chance.

The Fighter. Charged blindly into melee with the eiolon and dealt it a whooping 50dmg with a crit, just to be dropped on the eidolon´s turn.

The Sorcerer. He had darkvision so he dedicated himself to give ppl commands every turn. His scorching rays every turn dealt the most damage to the eidolon and eventually dropped him. After it was down his deep slumbers were vital to dealing with the multiple summons that were thrown at them by the still invisible summoner.

The Rogue. His job was mostly getting people out of the dark room following the directions of the sorcerer, and giving them potions to keep them alive.

The Ranger. Most of his attacks missed due to the darkness miss chance, however he dealt some solid damage after he eidolon was gone and the summoner´s invisibility was voraciously dispelled. He was the one that dropped the summoner on the last round.

The Summoner. His roll was to toy with the Pc´s. He dropped darkness every time it was dispelled and let the eidolon o most of the work. When the party finally started working together (after the initial confusion) and timing their attacks better they managed to drop the eidolon in 2 turns. Seeing this he limited himself to dropping babbaus and tentacles when necessary. At one point it seemed the party was gonna end when 3 babbaus and an ankylosaurus were swarming the battlefield. However deep slumber hit all of them leaving the summoner helpless. He was hit by slumber twoce and made his save by 1 every time (pretty funny). But after his invisiblity was gone and the tentacles were dispelled a ranger´s full attack took him down for good.
It is worth noting that after a certain point I stopped using his summons as a standart action and ut them back to full round to avoid a TPK. Since it seemed like having a babbau appear out of nowhere in front of you every round and full attack you was huting them badly (and this was kidn of a test also).

The Eidolon. He was hitting hard and all over the place untill the glitterdust hit him. His multiple attacks of op a turn made him a massive annoyance (didn´t know at that point reach didn´t come with size for eidolons), specially with the added trip and poison. However the crushing diapair followed by glitterdust boned him badly.

Conclusions.
All and all it was a very very fun encounter, even thou the players felt they ere going to die at any given moment. The feeling in the end for them was that it felt like a boss fight and not the second encounter of a given module.
I tried to do this testing as close as possible to how it would be impemented into gameplay, and not just a summoner vs party kind of thing. And it would seem that the encounter (calculated as a CR 9 instead of 8 mostly because of the summoner being invisible to begin with) took almost their entyre resources for the day, which leads me to think that the summoner is a little bit on the strong side. And leads me to agree with those who say that toning either the SLA summoning or the eidlon (but not both) is the right ourse of action.

Personally I love the eidolo mechanic, and would like for the SLAs to be the ones to take the nerf, making them either one at a time or full round action to use them should be enought (but both would be unnecesary)

I hope this helps at least a bit.

I have been working on a south american mythos inspired setting for wuite some time. Originally (over a year ago) it was very restrictive to avoid the power creep and splat invasion of 3.5, however with my discovery of PFRPG it seemed like the chance to have it be somehow limited flavorwise without having to ban a whole bunch of things.

So during my recent trip to Cuzco - Peru I spend the 21+ hours that the landbound trip lasted munching over how to reflavor some classes mechanically. However OI figured I would post some chanegs here to see if people think they can be unbalancing or somehow troublesome.

MONK (CHASQI)
1. Bonus feat, flurry of blows, Catch off guard, unarmed strike. Fm 10
2. Bonus feat, evasion, Terrain Mastery
3. Fast movement, maneuver training, Acrobatic Steps
4. Ki pool (magic), slow fall 20 ft, Imrovised Weapon Mastery
5. High jump, purity of body, Fm 20
6. Bonus feat, slow fall 30 ft.
7. Wholeness of body
8. Slow fall 40 ft, Unbound, Fm 30
9. Improved evasion
10.Bonus feat, ki pool (lawful),slow fall 50 ft.
11.Diamond body (immune to fatigue), Fm 40
12.Abundant step, slow fall 60 ft.

CLASS FEATURES.
Catch off Guard. Monk gains it as a bonus feat
Terrain Mastery. When in dificult terrain is always considered to have higher ground.
Improvised weapon Mastery. Like the feat but he may use his unarmed damage instead.
Acrobatic Steps. Gains is as a bonus feat ignoring requirements.
Unbound. Acts as if under FoM spell.
Diamond Body. Immune to fatigue, what would make him exhausted makes him fatigued.

- For this guy I basically replaced the proficiency with monk weapons with Terrain mastery, and the stunning fist and it´s upgrades with the catch of huard rogression, acrobatic step and Freedom of Movement (to fit the concept of the ultimate mountain free runner)

Fighter (AWQAYLLI)
3. Armor Training. Heavy armor does not exist in Walka Suyos. However the Awqaylli developed the art of making the best of the ones they had. The fighter adds his Armor Training as a bonus to the inherent AC of any armor he wears.
2. favorite Maneuver. (instead of bravery) The Awqaylli get a bonus on one chosen combat maneuver equal to the bonus they would otherwise get from bravery. Whwnever this bonus would increase they get a new favorite combat maneuver and the bonus on all his other ones increase by one. So by the end of his career he would have 5 favorite combat maneuvers at different bonuses of +5 +4 +3 +2 +1

- This one is more self ecxplanatory, and kind of he one that worries me a bit more.

any feedback would be appreciated.

really quick, when would be the latest I can subscribe to the Pathfinder Companion line to be able to get the Drarves of Golarion (hard copy and PDF) with it?

Sczarni

I am planning on finally getting a subscription to at least a couple of the fine Paizo products, but i had a couple questions as this would be quite expensive for me (peruvian monetary unit is quite mea when conveted to dollars).
What would be the shipping cost for mailing to New Jersey (so i can calculate the full monthly cost).
Is there an actual order at which different subscrptions come out? As I would like to get to purchase one book per month only (for example the new chronicles one month and the new companion the next one).

I know this sounds kind of stingy on my part, but I'm just trying to support this great company to the best of my abilities.

Sczarni

I have become a huge fan of everything Pathfinder, however my location makes it hard for me to get the hard cpies of books as they come out.
So I was wondering if it was possible to get a subscription for your products that only included the PDF versions of them. Basicaly I wanna be able to get them as soon as they come out.

Sczarni

I´m pretty sure this came up earlier somewhere around here but i can find that thread. How does the paladin mount work now? Once i call it for how long does it stay?

Sczarni

(the title joke works in spanish) Regardless, i just discovered pathfinder about 3 weeks ago and have been learning as much a si can about it slowly, specifically about the world of Golarion. My question is about the Tengu race, and i figure most of you people would know more onb the subject.
What land do they come from?
What´s their lifespan?

And any other tengu minutia would help.

Sczarni

does anyone know what´s the thiefling´s lifespan and what´s the age they reach maturity at?

Sczarni

I haev a very straightforward question to ask. If i buy a book here is it possible at all that it will be shipped to Peru for an specific fee?

Sczarni

I learned to play D&D while living in the US, however lat year I moved to Peru and plan on staying here. With the arrival of 4th edition it didn´t seemed like a big deal gamingwise, since i was definetly not planning on buying any more D&D after that. However now I decided to start playing PF and find myself in the dificult position of not being able to buy PFRPG books here (neither the core not the coming splat books).
So I wanted to know if there was a way for me to get those books here without having someone buying them and shipping them for me from the US (spending an unholy amount of money on that).

I just had the chance to read Cheliax Empire of Devils (great book btw) and saw this little feat and the wording struck me as odd.
It says that whenever you make a succesfull attack during the surprise round you can make a second attack with the same bonus and that the target isn´t considered flat footed against said attack.
Now the reazon for my confusion is that it sounds like it would allow a rogue to keep attacking as long as he didnñt miss, or am i reading it wrong or is the wording just weird?
In general, what´s the intention of the feat?

Sczarni

I´m gonna be running my first pathfinder module soon, and it will be the very much praised Entombed with the Pharaos. It will be my group´s first go at PFRPG so i want to make it good. However it being a 3.5 module i was wondering if anyone here had some conversions done for said module.

PS. Don´t want to come off as a lazy DM but i just figured i´d ask.

Sczarni

I am gonna be running a far east flavored one shot within a couple of weeks and I would like it to be with the new shinny pathfinder rules. However for that I need to convert 2 of the classes that (in my experience) saw less play in the 3.5 era, The ninja and the samurai.

So to that end I would like to know why, why do you not find the samurai and ninja appealing as classes? (besides the samurai being worst than a fighter at every level).

What I have so far is that like the monk they would be able to to use ki points to do special things based on their respective flavor (I know the ninja is half way there on that but for some reazon it just doesn´t compare).

Last but not least I need the samurai to havea powered up version of weapon training (as the fighter) but i don´t have my books with me (im at work and this is basically a side project for the day) so if i can get a place to reference what those trainings do that would help a lot.

Thanks in advance
