Brene turns to Sumak with a smile on her face. She is appaising her gloved hand and thinking she might like the look of it.

"Those robes are disgusting and spooky looking... and of course I'd like to wear then... unless someone else wants dibs on them".

"Well I don't see anything, but I trust Kurt. So stinky or loud? I think loud first"?

Brene gives the girl a lifted eyebrow look.

"Humm. You might have something there. Let's make sure the others are save, then perhaps we could try what you just suggested".

Brene moves to the next box, and peers in at the glove. "Anybody know if there is any magic involved here"?

This is great. Thanks for doing it. Would it be possible to maybe number the rooms so we can make notes about what is in each one? And maybe an "X" or something to designate our current location?

Brene rushes to where Talindra is reaching into the box... "Careful girl"!.

"Never reach in or pick something up in an area like this without carefully inspecting the area first. I saw Klinger the Oaf reach into a box in a tomb like you just did, and a scythe blade took off his hand at the wrist. No telling what kind of nasty's are down here".

Brene takes her time to investigate the box and compare it to the others before relaying if it seems safe.

Wow! It would be nice to actually make a successful roll every now and then :-)

"Hmm. Looks fine to me. Maybe they didn't trap this tomb, though that would be unusual".

Just to err on the side of caution she takes one of her spent arrows, and sticks it into one of the other gloves picking it up from the box.

BTW. I believe you might have missed Brene's successful second arrow hit above.

Brene takes a step closer to get a better angle, and takes another bow shot at whichever Zombie is most visible.

1d6 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (1) = 6 Arrow at undead in melee with another.

Brene attempts to shoot one of the distracted Zombies with her bow, careful not to hit one of her friends.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Shortbow (Disadvantage for firing into melee)

1d6 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (1) = 5 Arrow into zombie in melee with ally.

Brene watches the others kick about, then approaches the next door taking a moment to concentrate.

"Yeah. I hear that cacophany from beyond the door as well. As far as traps go... if there is one there I don't see it".

She then steps aside for the more burley combatants in the party, and pulls forth her bow.

"Kurt... be my guest".

My bad. I guess I just assumed Brene opened the door when she heard nothing nor detected a trap. I'll not assume again :-)

"I might have spent some time as an information gatherer and infiltrator... and might have some knowledge of traps and locks. Maybe I'll go up front and you right behind me to help me out if things get too hairy... or you can take the lead and I'll be right behind you. We've worked together before, though not without a squad to back us up so I trust you".

"Well, it's quite in there and doesn't appear to be trapped... but you never know for sure".

I can see this is a group that has no use for stealth or scouting. Fine they'll learn the hard way. I'll just stay back here and let them find any traps the hard way.

Brene shrugs and follows behind the group.

Brene raises one eyebrow, spits on the ground and nods her head in agreement... greedily looking at the captured spoils.

As Brene is not a fan of all the noise made opening the tombs... but is certainly a fan of any wealth they uncover she spends most of the unearthing time scouting about for danger... therefore she would be the last to arrive when the screams of Mark take forestage.

Brene will take the round with a double move to arrive at the scene.

Brene helps a little with the chipping of stone but spends most of her time walking the perimeter keeping an eye out for anything attracted by their noisy work.

She joins the others once the opening is revealed.

Probably any traps have been sprung by who has proceeded us here. I'll just make sure they didn't miss any secret openings.

She starts suddenly when Talindra's shadow blocks the light from the opening a bit. She then pulls forth her lantern and hands it to Kurt.

"Here You probably need this more than I do".

After looking at the options Brene rubs her chin in Thought.

"Perhaps we'd better find something easier to get into first. Hammering away at that stone will let everything in the vicinity know we're here. I'd rather keep that a secret as long as we can".

Though Brene's outfit is mostly worn and patched many times over, she possesses a wonderful pair of brand-new soft leather knee high boots. Unwilling to get them soiled she takes them off and rolls up her pants to go barefoot through the swamp, her calloused feet up to the task of the occasional thorn. You know she's ready for action when she sits down to put her "Business Boots" on... which she does shortly after arrival at the barrow mounds.

She whispers to nobody in particular... "Well. It's a bit spookier than I thought it would be. I'm going to check out this closest smaller mound first. Anybody want to watch my back"?

Brene completes the man-hug procedure then puts her arm around Kurt leading him back to where he came from.

She then turns to the recently unseated Taycee and offers a wry smile and wink. "So did you give you the 'Bear in the cave'; 'the injured saving orphans from a burning building' or the true tale that he got those scars saving Sgt. Plum's cat from a tree behind the barracks"?

She then laughs pounding Kurt on the back. "Let me buy you both a drink. It happens you might be just the stroke of luck I need to find".

After the drinks arrive, she addresses Kurt none to silently. "So I've been thinking... you've heard about these so-called dangerous ruins near here? I saw a group at the fort who were throwing money around like madmen that they claim came from there. I know you're always ready to make a bit of coin... so if you're not to occupied perhaps we might gather up a few people and gather some of that coin for ourselves".

"Neither of us is getting any younger, so the chance to make our mint while still capable appeals to me. What you think"?

Brene had just finished up an escort of some pompus military official to Ironguard Motte... and was getting bored with life. Sure there had been the occasional interesting assignment, but as a freelance mercenary she was more often faced with boring escort and guard duties... Then those luoud obnoxious adventurerers pranced into town throwing money around like they could own the place.

Hmmm. Adventuring. Maybe that's the ticket. Maybe I'll head to this Helix and find some others to travel to these barrows. Couldn't be that dangerous if these fools made it out rich and alive.

Blinking the travel dust from her eyes Brene stepped from the sunlight into the Brazen Strumpet and gave a look around. Wait... Is that Kurt? Haven't seen him since that border skirmish in the north years ago. Looks like he's busy... but.

"VonLyter! You old scalywag. What are you doing in this backwater place"?
