"Right: Astro-labe... Well, we can certainly look into it. We'll start with Pierce's contact. I also know a few people at Morgrave. Can I keep the drawing? It will help us identify the object if we come by it. Now... I hate to bring this up, but..." And Bojd let's the word hang, hoping the woman will catch his meaning. He means money :)
Bojd just nods at Pierce, keeping his eyes on the Halfling: "Mmmh... I'm a little confused with your story, Professor. Perhaps you could provide us with more details about how you got your... astrolab? stolen? You were drugged you say? Was this in Xen'Drik? Also, why didn't you report this to the authorities?" he asks, studying the woman's reaction. Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Bojd's features stiffen in the slightest when he's cut by Jynn, but the investigator has gotten somewhat used to his colleagues... quirks. He raises an eyebrow as Jynn mentions Pierce and takes a better look at the corner and smiles: "Please Pierce, do come in." he says warmly and moves to shake the Warforged's hand: "Welcome to the Wandering Eye as well. It's nice to see you found the place without any trouble."
"Oh! Mystery solved it seems... Now, listen here, you put that blade down and surrender, or I'll bloody the floor with your yellow guts!" offers Bojd, but seeing his opponent steel himself, he shrugs, points his tip forward and says: "En garde!" before darting forward, his sword a blur. Rapier: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 191d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 AC 20 with Shield.
Bojd makes a mental note of the name dropped by the gnoll, wondering how truly dumb that brute was, signaling his boss, as well as the hidden goblin so easily. Protected by his shield of spirits, he rushes the goblin, almost as soon as he emerges from the wall, shedding the cane from the sword with a flick of the wrist and aiming the sword at the heart in a graceful lunge... Charge: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 81d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 ... that almost cost him his life as he slips and almost stabbed through his own chin! AC 18 with charge and shield.
"Fair game? We are no fair game to be fleeced, but investigators looking into the strange disappearances that have befallen this troop! Now, state your business here and what you know of these disappearances, and perhaps we can part ways without bloodshed, but with an understanding!" Intimidate: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Bojd calls on the dead voices to protect him, and spirits start dancing around him, shielding him from danger, as he steps in the room, asking: "Selmy, everything all right? What's going on?" drawing his sword from his walking cane and placing it in front of him for added protection. Cast shield, draw as part of move.
Selmy wrote:
"That probably means they never claimed them after their performance. A bad sign... But also a sign that there is more to this than a marketing stunt!" Bojd summarizes with an inquisitive grin. "Lead on Selmy, your eyes are better than mine..." he offers, deciding to spend more time around here.
Selmy wrote: "We should inspect the lifts these other investigators used." Selmy grunts after getting the rest of the group up to speed. "And I think sooner rather than later. Unless you all actually want to sit through the first act?" "Yes, I'd prefer that..." replies Bojd with a knowing grin. "Where is that lift?"
That went well... thinks Bojd to himself as he watches the girl rush off. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 "Sour drinker... So, looks like others have hired competition! I wonder which House... Deneith most likely. Oh well, now we have two reasons to solve this little puzzle!" he says with a grin. He looks to his companions, then to their guide and says with glee: "Let's see that pit now!"
Somewhat peeved as their investigation into the underbelly of the stage is interrupted, Bojd exhales, but manages to force a warm comforting smile on his lips instead of a scowl. He approaches the young woman and says softly, with controlled eloquence: "Are you all right? I couldn't help but hear your dispute..." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
I'm from Canada. I work in education, in my forties. I only PbP, though I used to play regularly, until life commitments made it too complicated. Bojd spent some years at Morgrave on a House Tharashk scholarship, then went to work at Throne hold. What most know, is that he's not working for House Tharashk, but he usually changes topic when asked about the details. One of the few people who knows is Selmy, whom he met during his return trip from Thronehold. Not sure how he would have known or met the others though.
Bojd's hand move to his beard, scratching it softly as he listens to the young woman's tale, his mind trying to make sense of the fright she experiences. As she adjusts her cigarette, the powerful hold of tobacco sets in and he mimics her movement, reaching for his pipe and lighting it expertly. "My colleague is right, and so are you... We need room to work, and you need discretion. Tell me, what sort of people walk around the stage before and during the performance? Do they wear identification? Are they well known to everyone, or is it more of a pandemonium, where a few inquisitives properly dressed may move unnoticed?" he asks, his gaze peering through the woman's eyes while his full smile reassures her.
Bojd splits from the group with a thin smile and walks his way with measured steps to the Theater District, where he looks for theater owners or staff lounging in the rare rays of sunlight left in the day. He starts with small talk and mention the mysterious newspaper review. Gather Info: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
"I wish you could come Jesaeli..." says Bojd, casting a fierce glance at Tavick to remind him they're lucky to have her clean for them. "I would like to know more about this show. Do we have the Chronicle? Perhaps there is a critique of the performance?" he mumbles, looking around through the piled papers for the newspaper. "In any case, getting ready sounds good. I'll give my clothes a scrub and pick a clean shirt..." he says, wondering if there are any left. "And then I'll spend some time in the district, see what I can learn. We should meet in front of the Atrium then?"
Trait suggestion: Discourse Analysis: You've specialized in the analysis on subtext, penmanship, and writing style within written message. In short, you know how to read between the lines and learn about the writer through his or her writing. You gain a +1 trait bonus to Linguistics and can use Sense Motive to learn information about the writer of a written message.

Tough crowd!
Bojd slept in that morning, or pretended to, given the noise Jesaeli made. The shift from familiar sounds to unfamiliar ones pulled him out of his semi-state of reverie and pushed him into his pants. His face puffy from having just risen, he drags a shirt on the recently cleaned floor as he steps in the room, eyeing Selmy with the ticket: Does it say how much they'll pay?" he asks. Time had been hard for the former Tharashk hunter, and life had been... expensive. He steps behind his colleague and takes a better look: "Can't say more in a letter? I'm in then! Did I hear the urchin got a Wroat for her pains? At least there is the smell of gold, if not the real thing."
Oh yeah, traits... I'm The Bookworm. As such, I wouldn't mind something having to do with cyphers or with investigation. Some traits offer a +1 to Linguistics and some other situational bonus, which could be used to decypher, or to tell a few things from the person who wrote the note, allowing a sense motive check? Also, keep in mind I used two feats to build a lot of synergies with my Linguistics check.
