[ooc]As long as the last ghoul is down Badru will start healing people starting with the most critical (ie Roylenna & Ka'kara). I have four left @ 1d6 a piece if people want to roll it for themselves. Otherwise Badru will make sure all ghouls are dead before healing people.[\ooc]

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Having internet issues but I can keep posting if someone would be kind enough to roll for me as needed. I move according to Sandros' plan.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

I would like to change my action. Instead of attacking the ghoul I'd like to move 10' to L-5 and Lay on Hands on Ka'kara. It's strickly professional of course ;). Ka'kara did you apply the Lay on of Hands I did to you before combat started?

lay on hands 1d6 ⇒ 5

Seeing the towering barbarian stagger under the assault of the ghouls Badru rushes to her side. He puts his hands her her side and lets the power of his faith flow into her healing her.

Ghouls are undead and therefore immune to morale effects. Moreover, it's their turn.

True but it looks good on paper and besides they missed :)

Seeing that his efforts to scare away the undead failed epically Badru slashes at the nearest ghoul. ghoul in I-5

To hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Thanks BT that is indeed what I had intended :). The Daylight will last for a little while and has a 60' radius, maybe we can finally see what's going on in this cave!

Brandishing his shield like a search beacon Badru shines his light into the faces of any charging ghouls. With a mighty battle roar he attempts to demoralize any remaining ghouls.

Intimidate 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

and here are the rules :)
Demoralize-
Restriction: targets must be within 30 feet and must be able to hear and see you
DC Base: 10 + target's hit dice + targets Wis modifier
Success: target is shaken for 1 round + 1 round for every 5 over DC
Time: 1 standard action

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Fort 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

To hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Badru crinkles his nose at the fetid waves of odors coming off the ghouls. Shaking his head as nausea threatens to overcome him, he whispers a brief prayer to Saranrae under his breath and steels his stomach against the stench. He steps quickly up to the oncoming ghoul and swipes at it with his scimitar. Unfortunately he miss judges the creatures movements and barely cuts it. I'm guessing it will be the ghoul at H-7 but I don't know how many ghouls Lyria toasted or which ones
With a golden halo highlighting his striking features Badru says,"Enough of these shadows. Saranrae bring forth your Holy Light upon this evil place!" Cast Daylight on the front of my shield

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Initiative 1d20 ⇒ 18

Badru readies an action to attack the ghouls as soon as they are in range

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Lay on Hands 1d6 ⇒ 6

Nodding in agreement with Ka'kara Badru lays a hand on her shoulder, "May Saranrae lighten your burden and ease your pains my warrior sister."

"Lyria can you sense what might be out there?"

Male Aasimar Paladin 2
Black Tom wrote:
Lyria tried casting Light, to no effect. The darkness is impenetrable even to Darkvision, cutting your visual range in half.

Ah, I missed that.

Listening carefully for signs of approaching enemies, Badru takes his time looking around the cave. "Curse this vile darkness. Where does it emanate from?"

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Will Darkvision help with this roll? Also has anyone tried dispelling the magical darkness?

Edit: Ka'kara how are you doing for hp?

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Sorry I'm late for the party. Just got home from traning in TX and was laid with hayfever for a few days. All better now.

Badru stands in front of Ka'kara and to her right. I will delay my initiative to the top the next round effectively putting me at 20.

Badru watches Ka'kara slice through the undead as they approach, waiting for the proper time to strike. Badru scans the back of the cave for anything that might be directing the undead.

I'll wait for the goblins to get close before attacking.

To Hit w/ bless 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Initiative 1d20 ⇒ 1

If we could get a spell and song effect list going for what we will have running when we enter, that would be helpful. I think Badru will be just ahead of Ka'kara because she has reach (with Roylenna's enlarge) and can attack over him. He also has a better AC.

Sounds about right. I can certainly do my best to protect your knees :P

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Maybe I should be upfront too. I can throw heals at you and my AC is pretty fair.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

I will probably take up a postition about two-thirds down the line in the marching order. This way I can get to the back quickly if something should happen there and I'm also only a few steps away from the front as well. I'm fairly certain Ka'kara will be near the front if not at the front so she'll have that covered.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2
Ka'kara Furyheart wrote:
Glancing over at the paladin she says with a good natured laugh, [b]"Hey Badru, you have some catching up to do. I think I put down twice as many as you did on that last run." She takes another long draw from her tankard.

"Oh I am quite sure you will have bested me if this were a contest," he says smiling over his mug. "Besides much more drink and I'll be under the table for certain!" Badru turns to the Lyria,"We have not yet gotten very far into the cave. Master Mahaffy noticed some form of intelligent creatures further back in the cave. We do not know what kind but we came back to the to strategize a bit before going back in." Seeing Ka'kara order another round of drinks he endeavors to finish his before they get to the table.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

"I would hate to turn away from such an obvious evil as that that resides in the cave. They can easily terrorize the surrounding countryside and I simply can't turn my back on that. Perhaps with some thought we can devise a plan that will maximize our chances." Looking at Roylenna,"and I have some small talent in healing should it come to that."

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

AoO 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

I'll take up position at E-8 so I can strike at them as they come out.

The next question is, where do you go now?
Was the intention to run totally away or just out side the door so we could better concentrate on any chasing us? I was under the impression it was the former plan. Form a half-circle at the door and hack them apart as they come through one at a time.

Did you mean the later plan? In which I was under the same impression. I think we should stay and fight. We're not that bad off yet. Of course I'll happily take the xp :)

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

to hit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Seeing yet another zombie step up where he had just feld one Badru makes an overhead slashing cut at the thing before falling back to the doors. He calls out as he steps through the door,"Come on! Before they surround you!"

I move to E-7 which should put me just outside the doors. I'm going to cover anyone trying to make it through the doors.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

I'm going to take a 5' step into square E-10 so that I'm in front of zombie #4

to hit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

After felling the shambling thing that used to be a ogre, Badru looks to see how his comrades are fairing struck from the dark by two more zombies. He turns to face them taking a strategic step to the side slashing at the thing before him.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Is there a map hiding around here? I haven't been able to find the updated one.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Sweet :). Then my to hit should be 18 and damage is 6. Oh and that is against ogre #2.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Sorry for the delay but I've been fighting connection issues

to hit Ogre #1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Keeping his shield up to stave off any forthcoming blow from the udead ogre Badru dances forward and slashes the things leg hoping to disable it. Before the ogre gets a chance to strike back Badru retreats to the pillar behind him.

Royl are those effects for everybody or just you? And Tika what effect is your Song having currently?

Edit: BT:

Spoiler:
I'm afraid Manai has opted out of the game. She told me she was going to let you know, don't know why she didn't

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

I'm definitetly going to hold my action and attack when the zombies get closer, attempting to draw them out of the cave

Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

I'm heading in the cave but stop between the two totems on the right

"Stay behind me Artival. You don't want these things to get ahold of you."

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Roylenna:

Spoiler:
Thanks for remembering Thorak. I miss that red haired, ball of dwarven terror :)

BT:

Spoiler:
Any chance Thorak can be resurrected at some point?

Initiative 1d20 ⇒ 10

Badru checks his gear for the third time before heading to the mouth of the cave. He stands at the entrance awaiting the others before heading in, shield and scimitar at the ready.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Happy New Year everyone! May this year be better than the last :)

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Finishing his breakfast with the others Badru listens quietly and intently to Roylenna's tale. When she finishes her tale he smiles softly, "Ka'kara is right little one. Death is merely the beginning of a new path. One which we must all take in time. Your friends are under the protective gaze of Saranrae. She will watch over them until such time when we rejoin them."

Badru stands up from the table and stretches a bit. Eyes twinkling at the thought of the adventure ahead, "Now let's gear up and make these walking dead know that you can't take the life of one of Roylenna's friends without consequence!"

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

How much do we know about this place we're going to? Badru isn't local so it's probably very little.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Leaving his new found camrades to play vulture over the recently deceased Badru approaches Roylenna. Keeping his voice low so as not to be over heard,

Spoiler:
"What do you know of the veiled woman? She seems to have been unsettled by this whole encounter. And what was that language she was uttering? I've never heard the like before."

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

I want to go over to the bodies and make sure that all are dead or if there are some that can be saved.

After examining the bodies Badru turns to Chip,"Where were you headed when you were attacked?"

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

"Artival is it? Let me take a look at you," Badru examines the wound on Artival's back. Heal check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 "Doesn't appear to be any real damage." Laying hands on Artival's back Badru murmurs a prayre to Saranrae. Lay on Hands 1d6 ⇒ 2 With a quick look at Manai he smiles at Artival,"And next time keep an eye on your back."

"And how about you little one? Head still hurt?" He passes a hand over Roylenna's head whispering to Saranrae. LoH 1d6 ⇒ 3

Moving over to where Rhianna is talking to the survivor, "Rhianna? Are you ok?" He touches her shoulder lightly. LoH 1d6 ⇒ 4

I'm detecting evil on the horned survivor as well

MERRY X-MAS EVERYONE!

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Moving swiftly so that he is on the other side the creature from Ka'kara and the others Badru does his best to distract it. Coming in for a quick swipe at its posterior but only grazes the thing.

"We have to surround it! Hit it from all sides! Keep it off balance!"

Don't forget flanking bonus' people :)

To hit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21, that includes flanking bonus
Damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

To hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

After clearing his head a bit Badru raises his shield and draws his scimitar as he circles around the moth. Timing his strike with the beat of the creatures wings he drives in with a mighty roar attempting to pierce its side.

I'll try to manuever around to its backside as far as 10' will take me. Hoping to give someone a flanking bonus if this thing doesn't drop soon. Come to think of it do i get one?

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Will Save 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Roylenna's arm brushes Badru's shoulder as she succumbs to the droning wings of the great mothlike creature. He turns towards Manai as she also succumbs. Tensing for the attack that is sure to come he stares at the creature and is drawn in to the hypnotic pattern of its wings, the soothing sound of there gentle beating....

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Initiative1d20 ⇒ 5

Looking back at High Priest Thaban with what looks like displeasure at the abrupt way everyone is being handled Badru says,"Then we will take our leave."

"Rhianna is the High Priest always this...obviously thinking about his choice of words poor in dealing with people? I haven't had time to really get to know him yet having only just arrived here."

While talking over the High Priests lack a civility with Rhianna, Badru helps Tika and Roylenna up onto his horse. Scratching the horse behind the ears,"Take care Khaleed. Try not to knock them off like the last two!" He smiles and winks at those nearby.

Spoiler:
Knowledge(religion) 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 I would probably be here researching (or trying to research) a symbol that was found that might be a clue to Imrans origin. Imran is the young man from my background write up. As far as where Badru is from I guess anywhere is ok. I was looking for something a little more middle-eastern flavor but Tharbria is ok if it's easier for you. Are there any largish cities up there? If so what might their names be?

"Since everyone is introducing themselves it would rude for me to due otherwise. My name is Badru Akhensaranrae which in the common tongue would mean 'The Eye of Night and the Blessed of Saranrae." He gives a wry smile,"My parents had high hopes for me it would seem."

Turning to Rhianna,"May I speak with you a moment?"

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

BT:

Spoiler:
What do I know of these people and of High Priest Thaban? Badru has been traveling a great distance and stopping at a temple of Saranrae is nothing out of the ordinary, but how long have I been here?

A dark man in red scale armor stands in the corner looking over the gathering of adventurers with interest.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Thalyn here. This is my Paladin. Let me know what you think.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Unfortunately I think I have to bow out. I haven't been able to keep up with my posts and I don't want to hold any of you up. Good luck! It's been great gaming with you :)

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Seeing that the enlarged man is bleeding freely from several wounds Badru pulls a simple looking symbol from beneath his robes. Holding it high he moves closer to the large sword wielding man and speaks in a clear voice,"Nekhen!" cure light 1d8+1=8 to Muchorak

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Badru moves forward to defend the man on the ground hacking at goblins as he goes.

With both hands gripping his sword tightly he swings at any goblins that get in his way.

attack 1d20+2=10+1(bless)=11
damage 1d8+6=14

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Badru hearing the screaming runs towards the new commotion. With sword drawn he surveys the before acting.

Are there any other goblins other than the one riding the beast?

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

are there any of the little buggers left!

Badru draws his sword and deftly swings it at the neck of the goblin in front of him attack roll 1d20+3+1=24, roll to comfirm crit 1d20+3+1=9, damage roll 1d8+3=11 removing it's head in one clean stroke! He looks around to see if there are any left. If there are none left Badru walks around seeing to the injured.

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

Sorry for not having posted!

Badru attempts to move the crowd back away from the fighting as he draws his holy symbol from beneath his robes. In a clear voice he gives a quick prayer to Iomedae asking her to bless those around him in combatting the goblins. everyone gets +1 to hit and +1 vs fear

Male Aasimar Paladin 2

sorry for the delay! still working on last minute details of background but otherwise done.

spot roll: 1d20=5

Badru moves through the crowd to get a better look at what all the commotion is about.
