Azzuretta couldn't understand why Jay Zin was so concerned for te corpse then she realized that it was Darius. She knew that this was someone important to her human. He would be beside himself with pain ... she began to think back on best to console him... how to help him... as he began to move towards Basai she followed after him maintaining physical contact with him so as to soothe him and make him feel better.
Azzuretta watched as Jay ran into the room... She had no idea if that was Darius... but she reached out to see if the body that looked like a corpse were alive.
Seeing that Jay wasn't going to climb the rope Azzuretta took a look at the three other humans on the Banister. She cocked her head then glided down and hopped through the door that Jay Zin and Basai had gone through.
Azzuretta hops upto the bannister opposite the one that the humans are climbing up and takes a look in that direction... and listening to the best of her abilities.
As she looks back to check on the progress of the humans she sees Jay Zin land on the ground with a bang and his loud curse. She hisses at him in her imitation of a human laugh. Jay looks up at Azzuretta and gives her an angry look... saying Yeah real funny...
Azzuretta enters the room keeping a low profile. She slinks under a table and waits to see what her allies decide to do. She can sense the unease in her companions and does not like the element of the unknown that they have entered into.
Azzuretta flew above the group keeping an eye out for trouble. There were fights and confusion but most of the people avoided each other and stayed away from Jay Zin and the others... The few times that people in the street became aware of them they had moved away quickly. It was obvious to her that most of the people in the city did not know what was going on. They had not been warned of the fights that broke out. They did not know why people were fighting. All they knew was that things were changing. In Azzurettas experience most Humans didn't care for change.
Azzuretta peeked out from under her wing just to make sure the humans were still doing their talking. Seeing that she still had time to rest she continues with her nap in the corner.
Azzuretta slinked into the hallway after the faster walking humans. She missed the broad hallways of the Sanctuary of the Eye. There was enough room in many of the halls there for a full grown Xi-drake to fully spread out their wings. In the great hall three of her older brethren could fly spread out wing to wing with some room to spare. Here she could fly if she needed to but she had to admit it had been a long day. She found the corner furtherest from Mechanus and tucked her head under a wing. She knew Jay would keep watch over her.
Action 1 As the effects of the device wore off and the air seemed to lose its charge in little lightning spurts. Azzuretta knew she should come back. There was chaos in the streets but there didn't seem to be an immediate threat to the well being of Jay and his new found companions. She slanted her wings to halt her forward movement and began a controlled descent towards the compound where the humans would be plannng their next step. It would be interesting to see what kind of ancient Relic, that they didn't understand, they would dig up next. That seemed to be what humans do. Ususally she had no use for them but this last one had made her faster and her prey slower. She had liked that. If only they would find one that dropped fish from the sky.
Action 2&3 With things quieting down Azzuretta decided she wanted some quiet time. She knew the humans waould want to talk about things that really didn't interest her. As long as Jay Zin stayed safe she would be happy. She took to wing and enjoyed the feeling of simply flying alone in the air. Besides it might be a good idea to take a look around and see how things have changed. Not to mention it seemed Jay was going to be spending time around the man whose thoughts felt like someone rubbing her scales the wrong way. It didn't cause any real pain but it was still aggravating to be around. AS she surveyed this town where so many humans lived she simply observed how much had happened so quickly. She had quit her last solo flight just before all the violence and fighting had started. She could see three different fires and many people were looting. The nest had been upset and turned on itself.. These humans always seemed to find ways to hurt each other... Just one more reason she was glad she was a xi-drake instead of a human.
Action 1
She slinked upto Jay and gently pressed her head against his leg. As he absentmindedly reached down to scratch her neck she shifted her attention to the stone creature. She lifted one of her wings up and wiggled one of her Wing claws at hinm once again in immitation of the way the stone creature had done to her earlier in the day. She liked how its... yes its... no shi... Azzuretta could sense the fact that it was neither girl or boy... she liked how its colors would shift in relation to its emotions. She was also amused that this was generally lost on all the humans around her. Just one more reason she was glad she was a Xi-drake and not a human.
Azzuretta resists the effects of the strange color changing cypher this time. She notices some of the other people in the room starting to lose control of their emotions and realizes things could possibly get out of control. She decides the best move for her at this moment... seeing as most of the fighting is over with is too maintain a low profile. She slinks down to the ground and move towards the northern wall trying to stay generally out of sight till things get a little less squirrely.

Azzuretta had watched as the paint canister had flown into the air and was lining up to catch it when the loud thinking man had destroyed it.... Yet another reason to not like him... She was disappointed but saw that Jay was being attacked by three enemies. She decided in that moment that she needed to get back into the fight. Taking to wing she swooped in on the closest guard to her.
She nipped at him getting mostly a mouthful of boiled leather and padded cloth for her troubles.
Azzuretta will continue dining on her repast as the humans plan the next move.... Action 1 and 2
Azzure flies over to where the can of paint falls on the ground and retrieves it flying out of reach of the guards with what she knows is a prize.
With the fight coming to a close and it looking like the humans having to take a moment to deal with their captive and going through random material items, Azzuretta figures she has a moment to herself. She flaps once and ends up landing on one of the Queb's. Looking around to make sure no one objects she starts tearing at the soft underbelly of the creature she had decided to name breakfast.
Azzuretta came up from her attack against the Queb with a mouth full of fur. She sensed more than saw one of the guards running... well no reason to let him get away. She flapped her wings twice once to be air borne and a second time to change directions to get to the man and lashed out at the man... now staked to the ground...
having caught him she also bites at him.
ooc: @Basai I think everyone is familiar with what XiDrake's Generally look like. There's also a good picture of one on the front cover of the Numenera core Rulebook. Azzuretta of course is much younger and also her skin would have a allot of blue colorations to it. I like the colors on the picture I'm using for her profile.
Azzuretta didn't really know how to react to Jay Zin's new condition... she was too busy thinking about lunch... Focusing on the two Quebs... that actually seemed to have a thought or two of their own, although primitive, not as advanced as her own, or even the simple humans, she tried do determine which of the creature's she had decided to name lunch and breakfast, was closer to dying.
Azzuretta could taste the blood of the creature in her mouth and sense it's anger and fear at the onslaught of attacks on it. She started to feel excited... It didn't taste as good as fish but, this wasn't bad... well once you got past the hair...
then does her best to move out of reach of the creatures wondering if they would be able to reach her while she was near the cieling.
Azzuretta looked at the new creatures with interest... not only did they not have wings... they didn't have legs. The xi-drake waited for one of them to come closer and attack her allies then moved into place to attack one herself.
Action 1 Azzuretta listened to the man who had come in with the other people still trying to block out the whine that came from the man who seemed to have no mind. She did have the awareness to make sure she was included in the numbering of her group. Humans were always so quick to dismiss her from their numbers. And it always annoyed her that she would be in a room and people would compliment Jay Zin on her.. like she was some possession. She wished sometimes she had a more effective way to communicate that. Action 2 Seeing Jay fall towards the back of the group with his crossbow... Azzuretta move up next to the big rock man. She places her head gently under his hand letting him know she is there then takes a step back behind him.
Azzuretta did her best to block out the constant whining noise that seemed to eminate from the man with no thoughts... She eyed him doing her best to keep as many people between herself and him as possible. She didn't even notice the Rock man was there until he had addressed her. When shi spotted Azuretta, her crystals flickered greens again and she moved over to the creature, ”You live!” The diruk had been concerned about such a fragile creature and was pleased to see the Xi-Drake still very well. Shi crouched before the drake and wiggled hir fingers again, looking from the drake to her human companion, ”Your human?” Shi was mild mannered, now, surprisingly gentle. Azzuretta was glad to see him... something to distract her from the noises... she reached out one of her wing claws and wriggled it back and forth at the stone man.
Azzuretta was lost to the world around her...confused.... in pain... panicked... she was hiding behind the girl Jay had been talking to... when she felt Jay take her head in his hands. He pulled her head towards him and placed his forehead against her nose-ridge... and looked straight into her eyes... It was a game they had not played In a long long time.... When Jay Zin had been very small, the Knights who were supposed to be watching him would let him toddle away all the time. Azzuretta would follow him around and keep him out of trouble. There were a few other young Xi-drakes around but she was the only one who took an interest in the small child. Back then he could baely talk with the words that humans use to communicate... and there was always a liquid coming out of some orrifice of his body. And he pulled on her tails, and wings... and even tried to chew on her. Worst of all sometimes he would get upset and cry and scream. She figured out eventually thst if instead of running away from him, she apporaoched him and looked him right in the eyes just like Jay Zin was doing to her now he would calm down... He would stop crying... Azzuretta focused on Jay Zin's eyes, on his thoughts... she matched her breath to his... the panic drained away.... She could still here the sound coming closer... she still did not like it... but she knew that if she focussed on Jay... if he were around... and she stayed away from the strange unthinking man... then she could be okay...
Azzuretta could feel the excitement that eminated from all the people around her with her seventh sense. So many people in such a confined place always seemed so loud and jumbled together. She could sense the ongoing conflict in the other rooms of the building even though she could not see or hear it. She stayed on edge. She checked on Jay and saw him with a young female... Azzuretta sensed no danger from the girl so let the interaction continue. The Xi drake walked to the door and looked out, more for something to do than anything else. Here across the compound she saw a group coming this way. She could sense her friend the Stoneperson was sad... like it had lost a mate, or offspring... she did her best at this range to sense the others coming but got very little. There was too much noise... than she felt it... or more heard it... It was like a high pitched shrill coming across her seventh sense. It seemed to be emenating from one of the people walking this way. She grew more agitated the closer he came. It was like someone shouting directly in her ears. That one was not a normal person... It's mind was strange and different... too loud... too shrill... She did not like it... she hated it... she felt uncomfortable... she felt angry... she felt scared... The Xi-Drake retreated to Jay-Xin and tried to block the noise out best she could. Mechanus: Connection: Pick one other PC. That character seems to disturb your creatures in a way that you can’t explain. You know that you must keep your animals away from him if possible, or you might lose control of them.
The Xi-Drakes anger at Jay began to abate... she could tell that he understood his mistake... she only hoped that he had learned his lesson. Only time would tell. As he walked away towards the fight, she stopped and looked at the two humans cowering in the mud under the low growing plants. She felt sorry for them... in much the same way that she had felt sorry for the rock man. They would never be free to fly. But in their case it was because they were too scared to leave the nest. With a dissatisfied snort she followed after Jay Zin.
Azzuretta looked over the battlefield and quickly found Jay Zin. There was no immediate danger to her young charge but he it looked like he was headed to the thickest part of the fight. As she came closer to him she became aware of two humans cowering in the bushes close to him... Did Jay even know they were there? They wern't hostile to him... too scared to be hostile to anyone but he should be more careful. With a loud Screach the Xi-Drake purposely crashes through the underbrush uncovering the two cowering humans. Azzuretta could smell that one of them had just relieved himself in fear.
Azzuretta stood before the hulking stone creature straining her senses to understand it... She could tell it wanted to be her friend... This made her happy for some reason. Not as happy as a fresh fish but she still liked this rock creature. It was holding its arm out.. some sort of greeting she guessed.... when she heard Jay Zin whistle for her. She looked back towards where the whistle had come from. She was torn for a second but knew there was much fighting going on outside. With a final chirble and a gentle push nudging the great rock creature on its way Azzuretta took a leap and with a single pump of her wings landed on top of the closest wagon and with a second leap was headed across the compound to see what kind of trouble her human had gotten himself into this time.
Azzuretta checked on her human and saw that there was nothing threatening Jay Zin. This filled her with happiness, not just because he was safe but it meant she felt free to go do what she wanted... She could investigate what the stone man thing was. She leaped and with a quick flutter of beats of her wings landed infront of the giant blue rock creature... She made a happy churbling burble sound... and made sure to show off her brand new plumage to the people there.
Azzuretta chuckled to herself knowing she surprised the two human guards... and now they had to deal with her... the two rebels behind them as well as Jay Zin's crossbow... One of the guards for no apparent reason turned his back to Azzureeta and she could clearly see one of Jay Zin's bolts sticking out of his back. Well if he was going to turn his back to her...
The man crumples infront of her and she gives a hiss of challenge to the other guard...
What a good pet Jay Zin was. Azzuretta was very proud of how well her training of him was coming. With a graceful bound and one powerful beat of her wings she easily cleared the two humans who had given her new blue plumage... but she saw two more of the creatures running towards the building where all the humans were congregating with her new stone friend... She decided to help Jay zin deal with these two. With a flip of her wings she lands right in front of the two guards pinning them between herself and the two rebels following after them.
Azzuretta did a nice slow glide over the people and their strange devices just comming into the human nest. She could tell that something was up but had no idea what... She needed to get to her pet human before things went and happened. As she turned she saw the walking rock... and was amazed to sense that it was alive. She focused her attention on it and knew her human would too... but she detected no malice or anger... just sadness at not being allowed to fly free. She knew her human would think of it as an enemy. She would just have to put a stop to that. She pumped her wings harder to get to Jay Zin before he did something stupid.
Azzuretta found the upward air current again and slowly road it high up into the air keeping an eye out for anything really bad. Her human never really got into too much trouble but still she liked to keep an eye on him... especially with so many strangers about... but right now she was torn... she could see something small in the bushes not too far away... but that would meant leaving Jay Zin unwatched. If it had been a fish she would have been gone... but for an unknown rodent or lizard she could wait. Besides that large line of people and floating platforms were getting close. She would make this her last ride up on the updraft and come back around for a closer look at the little nest the humans lived in here. Best to not be too far away from her pet human.
