Hi sharaya.

I'm the one thanking!

I will remember that!

Again thanks for the help!

Hi paizo

I am an international receiver of your goods. Unfortunaltly I was on vacation when my shipment got sent to me so the mail service have sent it back to you. Have you received it yet since i would very much like this book and would hate to miss it. I will of cause pay for the reshipping of the item

Thanks!

I just got the pdf of the book and I must say F. Wesley Schneider, you treat the Elohim with a care for their origin that i truly admire, while still making them your own, i especially like the cryptic communication.

My interest peeked at these guys more than the other gods or god-like due to the fact I am named after the word Elohim, mine being Elo. So thanks for the answer and great great book!

Elohim? James, did you just decide to stat a god? Or does the name have more menings than one?

Apart from that.. MORE DARK FOLK.!! Wuhu!!

Second mordion!

He beat me to it

I must agree with earlier mentioned arguments that WotC is not pulling out the whole "game" here.

For me it looks like they are testing the "core" of the system. To see if it works

Feats, skills and other such things are tweaking that can be done when the core of the system is in place. Might just be me but I think that is a very important notion when trying to analyse the playtest.

After a closer look at the playtest and the comments on the thread I am curious what made the game flow faster? In my own experience 3.X/Pf and 4E where almost equally fast, at my table. So what makes it faster? Is it simplicity?

About the (dis)advantage. Although not explained could it be argued that with 2 advantages and one disadvantage you would still end up with an advantage? An other points that Diffan mentioned was the fact that you cannot progress in your advantage. So you cannot get better and still rely on luck in some regard. Although with a bigger chance of succes.

@WS It is funny you mention this be cause I just like you think that intelligent playing should be rewarded, but "flaws" in the game that make for way to powerful spells shouldn't be. But then again I am also against a system where you end up forgetting lvl 1 spells when you reach a certain power level. IT should be a balance between both if you ask me.

@Weslocke This is not about if you want to buy the game or not, the playtest is free, and eventhough Paizo is doing a good job with the material there is, there is no harm in looking forward and learning from others or get inspired. That is the focus i wished for in this topic

@Odraude I was wondering the same, the second i posted this topic, but since the playtest should/will go out to the public i figured we would be allowed.

@WS Could you elaborate on which ideas it is you do not like?

Hello forum

I know this is a paizo forum, but hear me out and lets see if we cannot get something usefull out of this topic

Earlier this week WotC released their playtest for the new edition of D&D, according to early reports this system is supposed to be universal but as of this playtest it looks a lot like a standard fantasy game, but that will of cause change.

My questions are simple. Have you read and/or played the playtest and what did you think about it?

I noticed that it looked a bit like a merge between 3.x and 4E. What did you think about that and is there anything you liked about any of the editions that you noticed lacked or was included. More importantly did you see any inspiration from what Paizo did to 3.x in there?

I know this is a VERY early playtest, but so far I liked it even though they haven't taken any bold steps yet. Not like 3.X to 4E at least

Look forward to hear your response

What about the Darkfolk?

Edit: Which ofc. will not be present if it only features 0 HD races
I would have loved it though

Hey Kyle,

I have been one of the hopeful mac owners who have asked for an OSX version a couple of times.

I have now done the awefull thing of bootcamping my mac so I can run your beautiful program. I love it and I have closely followed the updates and beening more and more envious that i did not have windows but now that I do i have used it for 2 sessions and one thing i noticed was the "randomness" of the diceroller

I like math and it seems the randomizer is the standard type, there is no True random in it. This makes the amount of crits and fumble much more common than my players experience. I can almost guarantee that i get a "1" after a crit.

I know that a math program called "R" and I have seen an iphone app who used an algorithm that came very close to true random. Have you considered this at all or is it just nerdy people like me who thinks this is important?

I am one of the people thàt have been asking for a mac version and rob if one wanted to help in th beta testing how do you go around it?

An other thing, in a earlier post you mentioned that the reason behind the long proccess for mac version was that you created it so that it could work on Ipod/ipad devices aswell, is this the case or?

I think you guys are forgetting one important fact, define good role playing?

Be cause so far all you are talking about is your ability to describe how awesomely your character can swing a sword and that a + or - counter for that describtion. I least in my book that have noting to very little to do with good roleplaying. And if that is your counter, well hero points kinda covers that, in a sense.

I know that good roleplaying is all in the eye of the beholder, but still...

I personally, when i GM give +/- to my players depending on what they say during a social or describtive (is that even a word?) encounter

And lastly never ever forget rule 0, you are the GM you can do what ever you want, call it houserules if you like, i call it rule 0 and that one is in the book

Kyle is there even a remote, one in amillion chance this will be made available for Mac users?! As in no need to use boot camp etc. ?!

Rob you just made my day!!!!

An other question, if you as i own the windows version for this fine program will you be able to use that on the mac or will you have to buy it again, for the work you have done making it for mac?

Danm i wish i was a windows user sometimes.

Rob are there no plans on the horizon to make Hero lab for mac or as you said yourself Iphone(ipod)/ Ipad?

/pray

Heya people

I'm big fan of the work Paizo does and I have considered making a subscription for their products for some time now, but since I live in europe and denmark i tend to pay some taxes when i buy object, books and such from the U.S.

So my question is does anyone have experience with ordering books from paizo directly if you live in europe and more specific if you live in Denmark aswell and how did the taxes affect the price of your order?

First of all Thomax great work, it really helped me and my group, during combat and such, especially with the 1.1 update.

But a thing I was wondering is, have you considered asking Paizo for permission to add, lets say, the playtests classes? If they where in there i think i would outright have falled instantly in love. But I guess this request is close to Utopia?

Again great work!
