History:

Arturo--Artie to his friends--is a child of the dark land of Ustalav. Artie was spared the tragedies befalling the common citizenry thanks to his upbringing, being the child of Lord and Lady Alexei and Aballonia Petrimov. He grew up with the finest tutors, protected by the heavy stone walls of Prefigura Conac, and attended forensic studies at the University of Lepidstadt. While his original field ended up being the wrong fit, he found a surprising use for all those preservative chemicals and volatile fluids used in forensic tissue study: many of them were highly flammable.

Artie chafed at the rigid rules the university placed around experimentation; he blew up his dorm more than once performing secret experiments. The third such time nearly killed his roommate, and a deeply ashamed Artie found himself cast out of the university and shunned by his aghast parents. With nowhere to turn and desperate to redeem himself, Artie found his way to the Pathfinder Society.

Bot Info (Personality):

Artie is very gregarious, despite not being particularly charismatic. There is something just a little too intense in his gaze. He often finds himself thinking about the structural composition of objects and what kind of force it would take to break it down. He tries to focus this odd impulse on constructive activities, but sometimes he's just curious how to detonate something.

Artie is oddly protective of the little automaton he created. He rarely brings Anansi out in front of strangers, and never in combat, even in a pinch. When preparing his daily infusions, Artie always prepares a batch of elixirs of life in case someone is unintentionally hurt by his bombs.

While his first instinct with objects and obstacles tends to be the best way to detonate it, his first instinct with people is usually to protect them. He often finds authority figures irritating, especially if they act pretentiously. Despite his guilt at his past mistakes, he firmly believes it would have been avoided if someone had been willing to step off their high horse to teach him a "lesser science" like explosive alchemy. However, he does try to gently steer people away from potentially dangerous mistakes if they lack guidance, especially if he thinks such a mistake will harm more people than just the one making it.

In combat, he will start with bombs but if he uses up half of his current stock and the fight is still going, he sticks to his crossbow for the rest of the fight unless things look dire or he's relatively confident he will be free of combat the rest of the day. He tends to save his elixirs of life for life-or-death wounds.
