background for Arrac Brandt:

-What is your relationship to the gods and religion?
The gods truly care little for this world save for keeping their worshipers. My cares are more about the natural world, self perfection, and understanding of the physical realm than in any deity or god.

-What is your physical appearance, bearing, mannerisms, and quirks?
Arrac has a slightly bestial appearance. His eyes have taken a golden hue, his canines have grown, almost to a point of protruding should he wish. His hair is almost jet black and hangs down to his shoulders, he has a small beard, no more than an inch in length. He is stoic, rational, and usually gentle despite his great size. While he has an imposing stature, he normally is a merry man around friends. He enjoys having time alone to contemplate, but tempers this with, perhaps more, exercise and worldly experience.

-Do you have an easy way with strangers?
Yes and no. I am.. cautious, around new folk, however I always attempt to treat them in a well mannered nature... Despite what my appearances would lead some to believe.

-Do you play well with others?
Again, yes and no. As long as they respect the natural order of things, and the natural world to an extent, and do not harbor purely ill intent toward other than he has no problem with them. However, his life in the frozen Northland has lead him to be extremely independent and he doesn't enjoy being told what he can or can't do.

-What draws you to the life of an adventurer?
Wanderlust. I an seek understanding of life, and to understand something fully, one must experience it. I have grown fond of life, particularly in simpler things, love, emotions, friends. one must always make time to enjoy these to an extent.

-Do you identify with a particular animal or element?
Wolf, I see the wolf as a great example of how one should be. One should be able to provide and live in solitude. He should rely on no one but himself to survive. However, he should also accept the company of others, family strengthens. Bonds of companionship can bring enjoyment to anything.

-What do you find creepy?
Mans lust for dominion, his quest for control and power. If beings of such sentience can fall to such desires... well, I don't want to think about it. And.. perversion of nature. Aberrations literally don't sit right with me.

-What specific goals do you have, if any?
I suppose one could say I have... broad goals. I want to both understand the world, its order, and the nature of it. I also seek to perfect the body I have been given by the world, to test its limits and surpass those. I suppose I also have an inclination to help keep the natural order of things of course. While I may prefer the wintry lands of the north, I understand every season has its place. It was this that lead me to Heldren when word of unnatural winter spread, of snows in summer. Something was wrong. I have come to figure out what exactly.

-What secrets do you have?
I... I left my Druidic Circle on poor terms. When I first joined, I had been zealous in my approach to protecting nature. I.. I ended up killing many innocent townfolk that I had deemed as encroaching and disrespecting nature. In actuality, they had been given the blessing of the local druids. This offense was punished harshly of course. I later however left the circle of my own accord due to the shame I felt. The blood of those innocents still stain my hands to this day. As such I have sworn to never kill unless it is necessary. (he will be dealing nonlethal damage to most things. However if a certian something proves a true threat to nature, or his comrades, he will bring his full power to bear.)

-What does someone else know about you that you do not?
When he killed those innocent villagers, it had actually been a witch toying with him. Using her powers to incite his rage against them. Surely it was part of some secret agenda... but who could know?...

-Do the ends justify the means?
Sometimes... Sometimes Sacrifices must be made. However, Some things are just going too far

further personality building-

answer the following as your character would-
Loyalty, or Honesty?:
A: Loyalty. In a pack, you watch out for each other. Thats how you survive.

Compassion, or Justice:
A: compassion, without compassion... without compassion horrible things can come to pass. I know first hand, That's all I will say on that matter. Just that Justice can ring hollow. Compassion can save a life, Justice... Justice can't do that.

Love, or Fear :
A: Love, Love, I believe, is fundamental in life. Without it, you lose understanding in many things. Love is what allows things to continue. Fear has its place, it can heighten ones awareness, give them a drive for something short term. But it can hinder as much as it helps. Love has its downfalls, but its strengths outweigh those. No Den mother fights as fierce as one with something to protect.

Obedience, or free thinking:
Free thinking. One must learn to think for themselves, to make judgements based on their own experiences and knowledge. They should not base their perception on life on the words of others.

Pride, or Greed:
Pride, I am proud of my accomplishments. My pride can be a source of strength. However, greed, can only bring about destruction of oneself. Excess desire of anything, can lead to dark paths.

Group, or Individual:
Individual, the worlds made of individuals, some are more important than others.

What is Right?, What is wrong?
Morality is... difficult to explain. In the natural world, Might makes Right, however there is also a tenderness to be had among the wild critters. I believe, one does what they can to survive, to get by. Its the way of nature. Some harm others to do this. While I cannot say if that is wrong in itself, it can cause problems.

finally, answer this question as your character would;
You see your most cherished companion in mortal danger, you have the means to save them however, if you choose to do so you will in their place send a group of several other people you do not know to their doom. What, do you do?
I would find a way to save both, or die in their stead... or die trying.
