*Comes out of hiatus of commenting* I do enjoy the style that you guys are going with, but I'll just throw in my penny for a thought.

-This is still extremely early so I'll just go with what's on my mind, please take it with a grain of salt.

■ The combat doesn't seem to match with the siege weapon (Attacking per turn Vs Quicker and twitch reactive attacking) a good example of combat that I believe would suit this game would be GW2 or Bless, especially Bless (Bless is a Korean MMO, go check it out, it's pretty cool).

■ Art style seems to be going in a good direction, but touch, polish, and improve, the best one-two-three ko moves in the industry.

■ Particle and clothing simulations are always nice to have

■ I'd have to agree with Beacher, the natural world is what inspires me to go out and explore, feed the exploring, ADD, richness inspired, like to have things available to do, the better.

But other than that, this is just what I saw, hope that helps haha.

I personally completely disagree on the idea of a 1 time cost for a super powerful defender. It works great in a story where there are never more then 1-2 golum creators working for a side. In an MMO where 50+ golum creators could all work for one side and create a virtually unattackable city in which they don't even have to be present to defend.

There are 2 forms of golums I am in favor of.

1. Golums with fairly low create cost, but are fairly weak, IE at worse an even match in a 1v1 fight.

2. Golums with medium create cost, and very substantial upkeep costs. IE if it is strong enough to be even matched against 5 people, it should take on average 5 people gathering resources to maintain it.

Ya see, I respectfully disagree with those, maybe number 1 being okay if the golem in question was a weak construct type to begin with, but number 2 being too time consuming to even do an upkeep like that since the players will be hurting wallet and they will get bored just for the sake of upkeeping the golem which is why I said it might be a better idea that for the process of creation could be longer or shorter depending on the type, and, depending on the type created, requires more or less, not a medium cost with a high upkeep. Actually, remove the upkeep, that's a silly concept, just make it that you have to repair it after battles and costly.

I agree that a golem should take a long time to create, but also that once created, it doesn't die so easily if ganged up, depending on the type of golem of course. (adamentine golem vs clay golem, time wise to make and how hard to kill.)

So it just occurred to me when I was at my gaming group and I was looking through the pathfinder books that I have forgotten about Golems and the creation of one.

My idea is to be able to create Golems of different power and types through the building of skills and it being available as a Guard NPC or whathaveyou

The Pros to this idea would be:

■ Body Guards for any reason such as Cities or Caravans

■ Working hard to create something that is yours

■ Necromancer's flesh golem

The Process Cons (I don't mean bad) would be:

■ The hard work to make one

■ Would need to be a high enough level to create

■ The skill points to put in the creation

So thoughts? Opinions? your Cons and Pros?

Question: nowhere in the donation process did it ask for my paizo.com account name. Just curious how does that gets connected to my forum account? Not that I'm worried as I used my Facebook account to log onto Kickstarter, so it will ultimately trace back to me, but I'm just wondering.

Kinda wondering about that myself actually

I wonder if Ryan & Co. are refreshing the Kickstarter page the same way I was refreshing the blog earlier today :)
I'm not even involved in the project and I know I'm refreshing it. Then again, I have a fascination with watching these things, and do the same refreshing with projects I'm backing myself or ones I'm just interested in watching. It's a burgeoning spectator sport!

I also like to refresh it since I want this thing to do well.

Welp, seems like it's time to pitch in the 30 dollars to get in the squad.

[edit]: Done and done

I agree with ya there bud, needs more pizzazz or something, maybe a goblin's face on fire lighting up (but without the burn marks haha)

@Morgen ah right, the skill basing. So it could within the skills that you would need certain skills to build a specific building (Aka the more skills built in the archetype druid, the closer you get to Tree House)

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

So what I mean by this is, for an example, if a Druid goes out into the woods and finds a nice spot to make a building, it could be a giant tree home. A wizard could make a giant tower, or a cleric could do a cathedral. Ranger could make an outpost hiding spot.

Specific Class restricted buildings, I personally like the idea of making a building that only your class could make, it adds to the feeling that it is "yours" and with a decorative feature it could be very cool.

so thoughts?

Edit: I changed the title to Archetype

Hopefully there is a choice to what kind of guard npc's are avaliable

@Arbalester it's still too early to tell so I'm just having fun with playing around with some ideas.

@Deciusbrutus Nice, more info will become available in due time to understand the game.

@Kobold Cleaver good mix, reminds me of a pixie berserker

Hey, I just wanted to get an idea of what everyone's starting character class will be? Possibly go into detail with what you are going to do with him/her afterwords.

Mine will be a Human Wizard which specializes in Necromancy with the opposed will be Enchantment and Illusion. If they allow character templates then I will be a lich, possibly make a tower for my character. Then I'll make an army of undead (if it can happen)

Et tu?

Ah, I believe I have many employees in my service that can be useful I believe. My company is the M.B.B (Magic may Break your Bones) They don't talk back, lift heavy objects, and if you want a companion they are in the multitudes in number, also no need for life insurance!

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

That sounds like a plan, I'll contact him in a bit.

Also, you should get in contact with DeathMetal4tw.

I'm glad that you approve man haha.

just wondering why I should get into contact with DeathMetal4tw?

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

That or build a Cleric with the Archetype Undead Lord and build my skeleton army

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

I actually want to build a Human Wizard with the Necromancy and Illusion/enchantment as the opposing.

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

Hey, this is my first post here, so hello to you all.

Alright, I wanted to talk about Character Templates, how they could be obtained and possibly start off with them.

My idea (and hope) would be that it can become an advanced thing such as being a Necromancer and becoming a Lich, the obtaining of a template through sheer work would be nice. Another idea is that by acquiring the necessary route of work (such as encountering or advancing in levels) that you can create a character from the start with a Template such as the Natural Lycanthrope or the Half-Dragon, and so on and so forth.

So the total idea is that A) You can obtain it through sheer work. Or B) You meet a requirement(s) to process a new character with the template.

Ideas, thoughts, comments?
