Atk 1: 14, Dmg 1; Atk 2: 3 Dmg 4; Sneak attack 5 Wow. That was...totally underwhelming. The monkey-man's attack misses though.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Initiative 15

Male Aaisimar Rogue

"Ah, damn." Kev whispers to Deris "I don't know if you can see em', but there are four nasty lookin' berks behind that strung-up fellow.".
He falls silent, watching the four creatures, ready to counter them if they charge.
Readied action to attack them if one comes withing range.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev draws his rapier as he hears the footsteps coming up the stairs. He retreats into the deep shadows along the wall, waiting to see what comes up the stairs.
Hide 24

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev listens to the animalistic screams from the corridor, trying to figure out might be making them.
I won't even bother posting my Know (Local) roll
"Friend, since you're still invisible, why don't you go down there a bit and find out what's waitin' for us?" he whispers to Deris.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev hastily retreats down the corridor, pulling a dirty rag from his pocket and covering his mouth and nose. "I'd move. That strung up berk is leaking fungus and I ain't planin' on finding out what it does." he says to his invisible companion, his voice slightly muffled.
Retreating to the head of the stairs and watching the strung up fellow.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

"Alright then, let's see what surprise we'll spring shall we?" Kev mutters, looking around for a small object to toss through the web.

What're you proposing?"
"A joining of forces, at least until we figure out what other beasties are hiding in this dump," Deris said, keeping her voice neutrel. The half orc downstairs was beginning to annoy her but she focused on the task at hand.

Kev considers for a moment before saying "Alright, a joining of forces. The name's Kev."

"Fine." Kev says, lowering his hand and letting the light fade. Male Aaisimar Rogue

In my last post I failed to specify what I was doing; using my Daylight spell-like ability and lying. Oops

Male Aaisimar Rogue

"I don't much like talking to someone I can't see.". Taking a deep breath, Kev calls upon his angelic heritage, summoning the light of day. A small globe of brilliant light appears in his hand. "Come on, show yourself. I've got enough magic in me to blast your soul from your body. I'd rather not use it on someone I'm not sure is an enemy so kindly become visible and we can talk this over like reasonable intelligent beings."

Bluff 28 Why can't I roll like this when I'm dealing with something that's actually an enemy?

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Spoiler:
Kev turns his head slightly when he hears someone take a step behind him. He tenses as he feels the breath on his neck, willing himself not to be too obvious in his response. Knowing my luck it'll be whatever did this.

Is the candle within easy reach? If so...
Kev carefully snuffs the candle, blinking as his visoin adjusts to the darkness. Drawing his rapier from it's sheathe he turns. Staring intently at the space where he suspects his stalker to be, he says "Alright berk, give it up. I know you're there. I ain't here for trouble, just to deliver a message. I work for ol' Autochon and he'd be most displeased if I ended up dead. Let me go about my buisness and we won't have a problem."
If he can't get to the candle, he'll do the same, just sans snuffing.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

I suppose I wasn't clear in my last post; Kev is trying to figure out a little more about the body before proceeding.
Know (Local) 12; Taking 10 on my Search for 14.
Should I make a new Listen/Spot check this round? With my last Listen check do I hear Deris breathing down my neck, as it were?

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Second Floor

Spoiler:
Cautiously picking his way along the dim corridor, Kev stays alert. It wouldn't do to let something get the drop on him. He'd rather not end the day with something gnawing on his innards.
Spot 9;Listen 23
He pauses when he sees the upside-down man Poor bastard. What happened to you? he wonders taking a cautious step forward and kneeling in front of the corpse to get a better look. When he feels the fine thread brush across his face, he backs away a little, gripping the hilt of his rapier. That package had better be damned important. he thinks, examining the area around the makeshift web, looking for any obvious traps or nasty creatures. All the while he goes over the street-talk, rumor, and legend he's heard, trying to figure out what might be lurking just around the corner.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Reflex 15

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev continues up towards the stairs, ignoring the fight in the tavern and willing the combatants to ignore him in turn.
Taking a double move action to the stairs and as far up them as I can.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev sighs as the sounds of a furious battle reaches him "Guess there's no chance of a pint then.". He waits for Thorn and O.L.L.I to enter the tavern before entering himself. He goes through the doors and sizes up the situation, trying to creep along the wall to the stairs.
Moved to B8; Init 13

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev nods and draws his rapier, following Thorn and O.L.L.I at a trot.

Listen 14

Male Aaisimar Rogue

As the Xousitechts flee, Kev rememerges from the crowd, hands nonchalantly in his pockets and looking as if nothing's happened. "Handy trick that." he says, nodding to the flaming bariur. "Shall we then?" he says and starts ambling confidently towards the bridge.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Initiative 8

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev remains in the crowd, garner no attention as the modron crushes the beggar. 'Poor bastard.' he thinks, keeping a hand on the hilt of his rapier and slowly making his way towards the bridge.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Bluff 20; Hide 27

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev wrinkles his nose at the stench and a moment later sighs as he sees the large tiefling and his gang 'Lovely. Can today get any better?' he thinks with a sigh. He tries to blend in with the crowd and avoid notice. Failing that, he hopes that he won't be a tempting target due to his companions 'Course with a bespectacled donkey and a walking box I doubt we'll look like difficult marks. We stick out like a sore thumb too.'. Kev readies himself for a fight, stealthily reaching into his coat and gripping the hilt of his rapier. If he can't talk his way out of this one or at least run he'd better hope his new 'friends' are decent in a fight.

Thorn of Clovenwood wrote:

Thorn grunts, but takes the aasimar’s hand in a very firm but brief grip. “Thorn, buck of Gort, of Clovenwood,” he introduces himself, in a surprisingly formal manner in his gruff voice. He even looks surprised, and wraps his knuckles against one of his horns in an odd gesture, as if telling some internal voice to hush.

Then he throws a lobsided grin to O.L.L.I. (changeable this one); “Well, what was I telling you about coincidence? Odd, no?” He turns back to Kev. “Yeah, berk owes some jink. I’m gonna take it back. Well, if yer coming with us, let’s walk.”

He trots about and sets off back down the street.

"Long as you let me deliver his message first; after that I don't care what you do to him. Lead on." Kev says with a grin, following the bariur and modron deeper into the Lower Ward.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

'Oh what the Hells. They'll see me when I deliver it anyway.' Kev extends a hand to the Bariur, saying "It ain't just the box that ruins your tough guy act. Name's Kev." with a crooked grin. "And, yeah, I've gotta deliver a message to Enoch for the boss. Why, you after him too?" after a moment's thought "What the Hells? Traveling there with you can't hurt. Just so long as I get to deliver my message before you do whatever you're going to do to him alright?"

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Check vs Fear 17
"Sorry berk, you don't keep your job or your tongue for that matter by spillin' yer employer's secrets. Speciall'y not the boss'. Let's just leave it at me havin' to deliver a message in th' same place's you. I mean ya no harm." Kev says sincerely, his face giving away no hint of a lie. "Lemme go in peace; the boss wants this done quick-like."
Bluff 28

Male Aaisimar Rogue

'So their just as paranoid about me? This gets weirder and weirder.' As he almost runs into them, Kev looks at the bariur's sickle and swallows 'Damn. Today just gets better and better.'
"Uh, do I know either of ye? Is there a problem? Cuz I'm delivering a message for ol' Autochon and I'm in a bit of a hurry."

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Sense Motive 16

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev hurries through the Lower Ward, eager to deliver his message and recieve payment. His curiosity about what might be coming all the way from Acheron gnaws at him as he strides through the dirty streets, doing his best to act like he belongs here, to conceal his accursed heritage and be an inconspicious member of the crowd "Damn those angels! Fiend-born don't know how lucky they are!".

He smiles slighty when he sees the absurd pair. A packhorse bariur and an easily distracted modron. "Modron looks like an easy mark." Kev thinks as he watches the box man study some fascinating item, realize he's falln behind and then frantically hurries on his spindly lefs to catch up. "Yep. Easy mark" Kev thinks, his fingers twitching slightly as he considers the possibilities "Might have some jink. Maybe later, after I finish this little errand."

As he realizes that they're following virtually the same path through the lower ward, his eyes narrow as he stares at the odd couple. Surely not. Surely they're not after Enoch too. Deciding he can't be too careful, Kev picks up the pace, ignoring the protest of his sore feet and hurrying even faster along the dark streets.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Smiling slightly, Kev picks up the pace and hurries towards 22 Street of Martyrs. Authochon may be an unknown entity to him, but men like this Enoch are a known quantity and he knows how to talk to them. Usually.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Kev withdraws his hand, massaging it to restore blood flow "Relax. Discretion is my middle name. The message will arrive unread." and with that Kev hurridly leaves Autochon's presence and the Palace. Outisde, Kev stare curiously at the package, thin fingers twitching slightly "I could listen to the message, reseal it and no one would be the wiser. Unless there's some mage's seal. Damn, whatever's in here could be worth enough jink for me to get out of here quick enough to escape Bell-boy's wrath. But, damn. What if this Enoch fellow realizes. If he's not one to tangle with even if I made it back here Autchon would know and then Hells only know what would happen to me.". He walks slowly towards the mark's address, wrestling with his curiosity and greed and trying to judge the danger involved in wronging Enoch.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

"No. I don't have the jink." Kev says, almost snappishly "Today is not my day.". Kev pretends to consider for a long moment, not wanting the strange man behind the desk to see how interested he is in seeing the message before finally saying "Well, I guess if it was so damned important to go to all that trouble I should see it." Smiling more confidantly now Kev extends a hand "We have a deal. Who be the mark? Where do I deliver the package?"

"Warden of Doors wrote:

Images of a bell in various stages of movement hang above the creature's head. It nods at your explanation and another string of images float above its head. The major thrust of the communication, however, is a simple gesture with its hand: 'follow me'. The dabus takes off in the opposite direction, leading you back a few turns. Through the uneasy ghostly halls, you follow your mute guide until it (he?) finally stops before a simple oak door. A plaque on the adjacent wall reads "Autochon's Silent Couriers" with a smaller plaque below reading "Please keep your voices low!" The dabus nods and continues into the bowels of the Palace of the Jester.

You gingerly crack open the door and see a room overrun with paper; stacks of it everywhere. On the wall is a huge map of Sigil, layed out in cross section. Colored flags denote neighbourhoods or turf and lists and names are pinned here and there. At a long table directly opposite the door sits a stooped figure in a suit of dull grey full plate armor, the visor down to obscure their face despite the stuffiness of the room. The oil lamp on the desk casts weird shadows, but the figure's armor reflects very little of the luminosity, rendering him almost flat and empty in the large chamber. Coins sit on scales, stacks of paper teeter on the edge of the surface and the figure just scribbles away on a ledger.

You step in warily and cautiously close the door, but the weight is unexpected; as the door slams, you wince as the clap! reverberates through the halls. It wouldn't seem so loud if the place had some life to it, but the noise is like an assault. The figure's helmeted head jerks up from his writing to look at you as you cringe in the doorway. Despite the noise, you could swear you could hear a little bell jingle as he moved.

For a moment, you stare at one another in awkward silence. Finally, a flat voice echoes from within the armor.

"Yes?"

Instinctive habits take over and Kev makes a quick scan of the cluttered office, taking in the coins, precarious stacks of paper, and, most interestingly, the armor clad man behind the desk. As he looks up Kev flash him a weak smile and producing the message from an inner pocket of his long, brown coat. "Sir, one of your messengers delivered this to me a short while ago. What's this about Acheron, if I might ask?" he asks, as respectfully as he can "The fewer bastards who want to kill me the better." he thinks, his heart beating faster as he considers the situation Something about Acheron and a big-shot wants to talk to me. This can't be good." as he quickly looks about, looking for a good route if he has to move fast.

You think the rebus is spelling out "What's in your head?" or something similar. No, no, that can't be it. Not what..."Where"? Oh, the head and the coffin...so..."head" plus "dead"..."head-dead". "Headed". Ah! "Where are you headed?", that's what the dabus is asking.

You're standing on a rich carpet depicting a hunting scene in an idealized wilderness that, you reckon, some berk likely went to seeing as how the Planes are. The burglar in you is extremely tempted by the empty silver candelabras and the huge tapestries, but this place is just so damn unsettling, you can't even stomach having a part of it with you.

"Uh, I was given a missive by a messenger that told me to come here with utmost haste to speak to master Autochron. Something involving Acheron, I believe." Kev says quickly. What he quickly adds to his statement shows just how unnerved he is "Sir.".

Nervously looking around the cavernous halls of the Palace of Jesters, Kev finally raises his voice, calling "Hello? I was told to come here by a messenger at the earliest possible point. Is tehre anybody there? Why am I here?" into the unwelcoming empty edifice.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Momentarily awed and intimidated by the edifice before him, Kev shakes himself and hesitantly goes up to the great oak doors and looks for a knocker or a bell pull r anything with which to announce his presence "Probably don't want to just wander in. I don't wnat to be the next body the cartmen pick up.". He knocks and waits.

Male Aaisimar Rogue

How long till I reach the Palace of Jesters?

Male Aaisimar Rogue

Scanning the street for a good mark one last time, Kev sighs and is about to turn and walk back to the inn that he calls home when he sees a messenger hurrying down the street towards him. He tenses and then relaxes a moment later when recognizes the man as someone best left alone. “For me?” he asks in surprise as the messenger hands him the parchment. He opens it, briefly considering telling the messenger that he’s not Arkev Tallius and that he’s delivered the wrong message but he thinks better of it, nodding in thanks to the man and regretfully fishing a silver coin out of his pocket and handing it to the messenger “Here you go mate.”
As the messenger departs Kev reads the whole letter again, keeping his face devoid of emotion ”Autochon the Bellringer? Certainly not for a personal meeting, no of course not.” he thinks as he orientates himself within the city and chooses a route that will take him to the Palace of Jesters. As he starts out his handsome features twist in a grim smile as he draws his long coat around himself and sets off into the night. “Acheron” he mutters under his breathe as he goes to the Palace of Jesters.
Any chance Kev knows what this is all about? Anything he can think of that he’s been delinquent in payment for?

I do believe Kev is done.

I've almost finished my character, including giving him a full name. Hopefully I'll get him completely done by tomarrow evening.

Sorry about my recent absence; I was visiting some friends.
I went over my backstory and changed a few things. I also added answers to your questions and a description.
I'll get to work statting him up ASAP.

Here's a rough draft of my backstory. I'll probably revise it a few times. If you have any comments let me know.
BTW, what is the likely planar destination of a group of Pelorian pilgrims?
A sketch of Kev (there's going to be more to the name, BTW) would be really cool! I love your art.

I have a character concept! I think that this is the one that I want to play! Isn't this teh coolest thing ever?
