I am going to be away for a week starting tomorrow (back on the 9th). I might be near some wifi at times, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to post. Bot me as appropriate.

Arasmes chuckles at Tad's words. "None of us seem to be participate in many festivities, although it seems not many are to be had. Bandits are not ones for such things it seems."

"My lady. I am so pleased to see you. The Dawnflower has lit the way for you, to bring you and yours to safety... Soon, however, we may need to look along another aspect of Sarenrae. But for now, you will be as her light to keep the shadows away from your people."

"Agreed. I have only known her for a short time, but the Lady Orlovsky's spirit and strength of character were impressive. Her mere presence here would do much to improve morale in these dark times," Arasmes says. "May the Dawnflower light our way."

BAB +1
HP +7 (+6 +1 con)
Fort +4
Will +7

4 skill points (2+ 1 human +1 favored) into Diplomacy +6, Knowledge (religion) +5, Perform (dance) +4, Sense Motive +8
+1 hero point

Arasmes is shocked at the news. Hearing Tad's question, he also pushes for clarification "The Lady Orlovsky, betrothed to the Lord Mayor... Has the wedding come to pass and thus she is the Lady Sellemius of which you speak?"

He then goes on with further questions on the situation. "Does this mean civil war? Or was the coup so devastating that there was nothing for them to do but flee?" he asks, concerned about the possibility of war back home.

"Either we must give up this attempt to tame the wilds or, as it seems is truly required, we must endeavor to rid this land of the bandits so that we can put together a staging ground in order to take back the kingdom. Dark times are ahead, may the light of the Dawnflower see us through," Aresmes intones.

Still here. Should I assume that there is no need for Arasmes' healing skills with the injured men?

"Are any of the men still injured from the attacks here? If so, perhaps I can lend assistance to your healers."

Note: I'm going to be away for the Canada Day long weekend and then some. I might be online early tommorrow morning, but after that, I'll be effectively unavailable until Wednesday. It's possible that I'll be near some internet/wifi at times, allowing me to lurk a bit, but I can't guarantee to be able to post. Feel free to bot me where necessary.

Arasmes chuckles at Morley's words. "I try my best."

"Antha and Teyran have spoken true, he says. "As you may have noticed," he continued, gesturing to the captured bandits, "there is no law and order in these parts. We are here to cleanse this place of the banditry that accosts those travelers, such as yourself. You may continue on your way, and risk more such meetings with their type, or you may return with us to discuss the concept of law and order in this region with the Lord Garess."

Arasmes frowns, seeing the injuries on Tad and the elven woman. He moves to a position to cover all his injured allies, including the elven woman and raises his hand, channeling the power of the dawnflower

Channel Positive Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 3

"Is anyone in need of some healing?" Arasmes asks. "Say, Tad. You had mentioned something about an elfin woman. Perhaps someone should be sure she is well."

Note: I'll be up at the cottage from tonight (after 4 or so pm EST) to Sunday afternoon. There's no internet up there so I'll likely be incommunicado for that period. If I'm lucky, I'll have some cell reception, so I might try to at least keep up with things (posting ain't easy on the phone, so no guarantees of that) in the interim.

Still around. I suppose I could have posted something (like talking, etc) myself, although I can fool myself into thinking that maybe I was waiting on others, lol.

Arasmes loads his crossbow and fires off another shot which goes wide.

Move action to load crossbow
Standard action to attack.
5-ft free move closer to the combat
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Arasmes moves into a closer position in order to allow him to fire his crossbow at one of the bandits trailing Tad.

Move action to get into position
Standard action to attack a bandit not already in melee.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Take whatever time you need and maybe a bit more. I'm still here and not frustrated at all. Best wishes.

Likewise.

lol. Yeah, read through some of the gameplay thread about a few pages in. Tension has already made it's presence known, a little more can't hurt.

Just wait until you need healing Tad! *shakes fist*... Just kidding.

Anyhow, as long as the tension doesn't spill into something akin to PvP or affect the party cohesion overly much, it shouldn't matter.

Arasmes takes a position on one of the arms of the U near the bottom, and loads his crossbow.

"Whatever we decide, we might want to get to it. If Grendolyn actually has been seen, they might be preparing for something," Arasmes says while loading his crossbow.

Present.

"Akiros. How well do you know of this camp, its layout and watch habits?"

"And would this be the camp to which some fellows we had routed from the keep would have fled?"

Arasmes channels his deity, but it seems the Dawnflower's attention is largely elsewhere.

Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1

"Tend to your friend Akiros, and then report back to Lord Kesten. I am sure that this man could reveal much of the early days of the bandits and of those who took over."

"I must admit that I am running low on supplies. If there is none here that can assist in the gathering of edible plants and animals, it might be best if we all return and refill our packs."

I'm just going by what's on my character sheet. I don't recall if we had snagged extra rations or not. I had 5 initially, down to 1 or 2.

"Are others in need of healing at the same time, or shall I focus my energies upon the former Stag Lord?"

"I would not be comfortable leaving the man, particularly in the state he is in, even with a protector. This land can be dangerous. As mentioned, this man may also have information on his former host and of those who replaced him. He may even know more of the one Lord Kesten searches for."

"Indeed. That Erastil has seen fit to return Akiros to his power for his actions in removing the curse of the temple. This is beyond the sign of the stag. Nonetheless, perhaps your injuries are making it difficult for you to see the higher connections."

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

"Does this help? Does any other require assistance?"

"I can at least use my healing to affect all, even your friend, Akiros," Arasmes says as he moves towards the fallen man keeping himself close to his companions as well as he mutters a small prayer to the Dawnflower bringing forth her power and causing healing energies to flow across the group.

Channel positive energy: 1d6 ⇒ 5

I'm going to be on vacation starting tomorrow (18th) until the 28th inclusive. Not sure about web access or ability to post, so feel free to DMPC me during that time.

"It seems the temple came into our path before said mites. Nonetheless, if we can do some good here, perhaps it will have a beneficial effect on the area."

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Sorry. My work computer is using a version of IE that's too old to have any functionality on google docs. Meaning I cannot add nor move any icons.

"One also wonders whether killing the guardian is possible or even advisable. Considering the last person who killed it became the next one... Is there a way, perhaps, to cleanse the temple of whatever may be causing the guardian to go mad?"

Arasmes readies his crossbow. "Some should be prepared in case, the new guardian charges in."

Arasmes nods upon his introduction. Incredible! May the Dawflower guide us to a peaceful union with these little folk.

EDIT: nvm. Just realized Arasmes is after Unknown, which might necessitate a change in action.

How far away is the troll?

Don't forget knowledge checks folks. Arasmes only has religion, so likely can't help here.

"Are we close to what the little lizard creatures described as Mite territory?"

"It seems ill timed to be performing pranks. These kind of delays can add up and cause us problems in the long run. If it was someone in our group, please try to hold your comedic aspects until we're siting safe at the keep. If it wasn't... then someone snuck into our camp as we slept to perform these acts..."

Arasmes dismounts and tries to tie off his horse like the others. "As it seems the plan is to parley, on the off chance that this turns sour, we'd best prepare for battle."

Arasmes reins in his horse, with a bit of a struggle, to await Grendolynn's scouting results.

Explore! I'm all about the fire spells!

Challenge accepted... ;)

Arasmes has 4 gold and change to put forwards. Doesn't really matter if someone covers things for all or we each pay a bit. It can be paid back when we split the stuff we find later.

Of course it could mean trouble if the horses get eaten by the trolls. But better them than us, I suppose.

"I too have no true knowledge of riding. I expect I should be able to get by, however, presuming a sedate pace and nothing too excitable while we ride. Perhaps I will take some instruction, as well."

"Perhaps we should share or double up on some of the horses? Or is that inadvisable?"

In the morning Arasmes takes the picture of Falgrim, bringing the rolled up parchment to Akiros, "One thing I meant to ask you before... Since you were involved in the organization of the Stag Lord, somewhat. Perhaps you would recognize one of it's members were you to see a painting of him..." He then unfurls the picture to show Akiros. "Do you recognize this man?" he asks.

I was thinking about asking about Falgrim too, since Kesten mentioned him and considering he's joined the Stag Lord and may be known to Akiros. Maybe show him the picture if he hasn't heard the name before (which might be necessary since he didn't know his friends name).

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

"So you say this friend of yours, prior to his fall, had been in contact with Brevoy, and in fact received a charter to reclaim the lands from the Lord Regent... What was this man's name? Before he was corrupted by the artefact and the druid, and before this Dovan tried to kill him and take his place as the Stag Lord..."

"And what had he changed into after having defeated the cursed guardian? A new guardian to replace the last?"

"Even if Erastil has left you, perhaps redemption can still be found with the assistance of the Dawnflower."

Arasmes perks up at the mention of 'redemption'. "I am pleased that the touch of the Dawnflower has assisted you. As it seems you may be present for a time, I, and am sure the others, would be interested to hear of this tale of a beast and your redemption. It is a tale that describes the troubles of the area and one that I find personally appeals to me where it parallells the stories of Sarenrae."

Arasmes moves to the injured man to check his injuries.

Heal check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Unable to heal the man through mundane means, Arasmes casts a spell. "I'll try to heal the man. Be aware, in case he is unfriendly."

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Arasmes looks at the painting before speaking, "I hope we will be able to return your former friend to you so that he can at least find the redemption of his honor, if not his life."

"As you know, I am a follower of Sarenrae. I can channel her power to heal as well as to burn. My knowledge of true battle and tactics is limited, but I tend to draw upon similes from the teachings of the Dawnflower that may apply to the situation. I am still learning the blade dance of the Lady, but I can still use simpler weapons with a small degree of skill. Like Grendolynn, I am here at the request of the Lady Alexis and agree that unity is key to victory."

I just ralized I hadn't posted in a while. Just letting folks know I'm still here. Lurking through the posts mainly.

I wasn't aware that we were digging the grave in the middle of the keep, so wasn't sure how to respond.

We can just shift our tactics so that the enemy isn't given an opportunity to surrender, thus avoiding the discussion on how we can dispose of the prisoners.

The further we are from civilization the more often we'll need to become the judge, jury and executioner. Happs was in a convenient location where we could afford to discuss the topic. I don't see it being as easy the deeper we get into the jungle, so to speak.

There certainly won't be time to reform someone as deep in it as Happs was, but there may be others who are only on the periphery of it all. Copious use of Sense Motive (which, as Tad pointed out, was not very prevalent in this conversation) should help determine the difference.

Of course, as said: no prisoners, no worries.

It was a good role-playing opportunity, and helped develop my thoughts and ideas behind my own character. No apologies necessary.

By the way who is Gaedran Lamm? I don't recall hearing about that person.
