![]() Arasmes chuckles at Tad's words. "None of us seem to be participate in many festivities, although it seems not many are to be had. Bandits are not ones for such things it seems." "My lady. I am so pleased to see you. The Dawnflower has lit the way for you, to bring you and yours to safety... Soon, however, we may need to look along another aspect of Sarenrae. But for now, you will be as her light to keep the shadows away from your people." ![]()
![]() Arasmes is shocked at the news. Hearing Tad's question, he also pushes for clarification "The Lady Orlovsky, betrothed to the Lord Mayor... Has the wedding come to pass and thus she is the Lady Sellemius of which you speak?" He then goes on with further questions on the situation. "Does this mean civil war? Or was the coup so devastating that there was nothing for them to do but flee?" he asks, concerned about the possibility of war back home. "Either we must give up this attempt to tame the wilds or, as it seems is truly required, we must endeavor to rid this land of the bandits so that we can put together a staging ground in order to take back the kingdom. Dark times are ahead, may the light of the Dawnflower see us through," Aresmes intones. ![]()
![]() Note: I'm going to be away for the Canada Day long weekend and then some. I might be online early tommorrow morning, but after that, I'll be effectively unavailable until Wednesday. It's possible that I'll be near some internet/wifi at times, allowing me to lurk a bit, but I can't guarantee to be able to post. Feel free to bot me where necessary. ![]()
![]() Arasmes chuckles at Morley's words. "I try my best." "Antha and Teyran have spoken true, he says. "As you may have noticed," he continued, gesturing to the captured bandits, "there is no law and order in these parts. We are here to cleanse this place of the banditry that accosts those travelers, such as yourself. You may continue on your way, and risk more such meetings with their type, or you may return with us to discuss the concept of law and order in this region with the Lord Garess." ![]()
![]() Note: I'll be up at the cottage from tonight (after 4 or so pm EST) to Sunday afternoon. There's no internet up there so I'll likely be incommunicado for that period. If I'm lucky, I'll have some cell reception, so I might try to at least keep up with things (posting ain't easy on the phone, so no guarantees of that) in the interim. ![]()
![]() lol. Yeah, read through some of the gameplay thread about a few pages in. Tension has already made it's presence known, a little more can't hurt. Just wait until you need healing Tad! *shakes fist*... Just kidding. Anyhow, as long as the tension doesn't spill into something akin to PvP or affect the party cohesion overly much, it shouldn't matter. ![]()
![]() Arasmes channels his deity, but it seems the Dawnflower's attention is largely elsewhere. Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1 "Tend to your friend Akiros, and then report back to Lord Kesten. I am sure that this man could reveal much of the early days of the bandits and of those who took over." "I must admit that I am running low on supplies. If there is none here that can assist in the gathering of edible plants and animals, it might be best if we all return and refill our packs." I'm just going by what's on my character sheet. I don't recall if we had snagged extra rations or not. I had 5 initially, down to 1 or 2. ![]()
![]() "Are others in need of healing at the same time, or shall I focus my energies upon the former Stag Lord?" "I would not be comfortable leaving the man, particularly in the state he is in, even with a protector. This land can be dangerous. As mentioned, this man may also have information on his former host and of those who replaced him. He may even know more of the one Lord Kesten searches for." ![]()
![]() "Indeed. That Erastil has seen fit to return Akiros to his power for his actions in removing the curse of the temple. This is beyond the sign of the stag. Nonetheless, perhaps your injuries are making it difficult for you to see the higher connections." Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 "Does this help? Does any other require assistance?" ![]()
![]() "I can at least use my healing to affect all, even your friend, Akiros," Arasmes says as he moves towards the fallen man keeping himself close to his companions as well as he mutters a small prayer to the Dawnflower bringing forth her power and causing healing energies to flow across the group. Channel positive energy: 1d6 ⇒ 5 ![]()
![]() "It seems ill timed to be performing pranks. These kind of delays can add up and cause us problems in the long run. If it was someone in our group, please try to hold your comedic aspects until we're siting safe at the keep. If it wasn't... then someone snuck into our camp as we slept to perform these acts..." ![]()
![]() Challenge accepted... ;) Arasmes has 4 gold and change to put forwards. Doesn't really matter if someone covers things for all or we each pay a bit. It can be paid back when we split the stuff we find later. Of course it could mean trouble if the horses get eaten by the trolls. But better them than us, I suppose. ![]()
![]() In the morning Arasmes takes the picture of Falgrim, bringing the rolled up parchment to Akiros, "One thing I meant to ask you before... Since you were involved in the organization of the Stag Lord, somewhat. Perhaps you would recognize one of it's members were you to see a painting of him..." He then unfurls the picture to show Akiros. "Do you recognize this man?" he asks. ![]()
![]() Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 "So you say this friend of yours, prior to his fall, had been in contact with Brevoy, and in fact received a charter to reclaim the lands from the Lord Regent... What was this man's name? Before he was corrupted by the artefact and the druid, and before this Dovan tried to kill him and take his place as the Stag Lord..." "And what had he changed into after having defeated the cursed guardian? A new guardian to replace the last?" "Even if Erastil has left you, perhaps redemption can still be found with the assistance of the Dawnflower." ![]()
![]() Arasmes perks up at the mention of 'redemption'. "I am pleased that the touch of the Dawnflower has assisted you. As it seems you may be present for a time, I, and am sure the others, would be interested to hear of this tale of a beast and your redemption. It is a tale that describes the troubles of the area and one that I find personally appeals to me where it parallells the stories of Sarenrae." ![]()
![]() Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 Arasmes looks at the painting before speaking, "I hope we will be able to return your former friend to you so that he can at least find the redemption of his honor, if not his life." "As you know, I am a follower of Sarenrae. I can channel her power to heal as well as to burn. My knowledge of true battle and tactics is limited, but I tend to draw upon similes from the teachings of the Dawnflower that may apply to the situation. I am still learning the blade dance of the Lady, but I can still use simpler weapons with a small degree of skill. Like Grendolynn, I am here at the request of the Lady Alexis and agree that unity is key to victory." ![]()
![]() We can just shift our tactics so that the enemy isn't given an opportunity to surrender, thus avoiding the discussion on how we can dispose of the prisoners. The further we are from civilization the more often we'll need to become the judge, jury and executioner. Happs was in a convenient location where we could afford to discuss the topic. I don't see it being as easy the deeper we get into the jungle, so to speak. There certainly won't be time to reform someone as deep in it as Happs was, but there may be others who are only on the periphery of it all. Copious use of Sense Motive (which, as Tad pointed out, was not very prevalent in this conversation) should help determine the difference. Of course, as said: no prisoners, no worries.
