About Aran Fin
Born on the backwater world of Anobis, Aran had always had dreams bigger than the podunk agriworld he was born on. Once the Empire suddenly blindsided everyone, he also found it an unpleasant place to live. He was torn between two worlds - the pro-Imperial miners, whom his father belonged to, and the individualistic farmers, which included his long-time friends (and surrogate family) the Lyras.
It was a fateful day when Cora Lyra, Aran's childhood friend, convinced him to 'run away' from everything and seek their fortunes offworld. That same night he stole a speeder from the mechanic's shop he worked at and they made their way to the nearest spaceport. Cora talked their way onto a smuggler's ship, the crew having had to land for repairs and being a man down from a botched operation.
A few months in, the crew broke up during another botched job and Aran and Cora were separated. In the year and a half since, he's made a small name for himself as a hand on several crews, usually as a tech, repairman, and security-bypasser. Though he'd always been a crack shot, even hunting with a rifle back on Anobis, his skills with the more easily-concealable pistol have grown considerably as well.
