I realise this post will be asking for help in a second addition adventure, but I didn't see a board during my scan for second edition.

I am currently in a party for a second edition Return to White Plume Mountain adventure. I've come up with a way to cut the adventure short, but I need some help. I am going to cause the volcano to erupt, killing everything living in it and anything caught in the radius of the eruption. I will do so by utilizing the dimension door power to drain an amount of the water in area 35-The Boiling Lake, to another part of the volcano. I will then drop 100-200 flasks of alchemists fire and roughly 600 gallons of tar, oil, and pure alcohol combined (in containers) into the lake. The resulting explosions, caused by increased pressure within the containers, should cause enough structural damage to the bottom of the lake to cause the volcano to erupt (lava flows underneath the lake). However, I want to evacuate Ringland (the nearby town) before doing so. If I don't, it'll simply be mass murder and the group paladin will spread the word after I take off and I'll have half the world after me for it. I will not include the details, so any who will help can do so in an educated manner (without guessing or suggesting a route I have already managed to deny...unless I forget to add it here).

If you are wondering why I want to blow the volcano, here are four reasons-
1) Because it sounds like fun.
2) Because I've never done it before.
3) To cause chaos.
4) To kill the false Keraptus' and their minions (which appears to be the goal of the adventure).

I am a level 10 chaotic neutral psionicist traveling with a lvl 12 palladin, two lvl 12 fighter/priests, and a level 11 fighter/mage. Thus far I HAVE maintained a decent balance with my actions and reasoning for my actions (although I am pushing chaotic evil, with lawful evil close behind).

The DM decided to use a plot hook that had a mage hiring us to find and return a weapon that was stolen from him, which is a weapon that is part of the adventure. As a reward, he offered us a 10,000,000 GP diamond (he finds the weapon to be worth more, apparently). The diamond happened to have the constant attention of the local thieves guild, who try to steal it about once a month. The party decided to wait until the thieves attacked again and capture a few, to see if they new anything of the stolen weapon. I had not met up with the party yet, however, and did not know this. Before meeting the party, I met the thieves, who hired me to help steal the diamond (which I did so very effectively, but that comes later). We agreed on 10,000 gold for my services, and at this point I knew nothing of the actual size or value of the diamond. Afterwards, I met up with the party, learned what was going on and the plans to capture the thieves if and when they struck. The next night, when gaurding the diamond, I used time shift and a magical black horse statue that turns into a horse and can go ethereal to steal the diamond by tieing a rope around it and dragging it through the ethereal plane. After arriving at the warehouse to meet the thieves, I forced them to up my patment to 100,000 gold before giving them the diamond. I then went back to the party and the diamonds owner and told them where to find the thieves. I did, however, manage to aquire the weapon he wanted later and return it to him. That got the city gaurd off my back. I then took the diamond and gave it to the thieves, which got them to stop trying to kill me. Yes, I did that without the party knowing.

That was to explain that I am not well trusted. The person who hired us also happens to be the cities mayor and a high level mage.

The city is three weeks away from Ringland (DM says it should be out of the blast radius of the volcano). I need to come up with a good, plausible arguement as to why the cities mayor (the guy I stole the diamond from for the thieves) should believe me when I tell him that the volcano is going to erupt within a week or two, so he will do what he can to get the town (ringland) evacuated. I can't get help from my party because when I told them what I was going to do, the mage teleported them halfway across the globe without telling me where they were going.

The only other option I can think of is gnolls. When travelling through another area, the Plague Fields, outside the volcano I befriended a tribe of gnolls by teaching them how to breed cattle (my original intention for this was to help them become a world power). If I do this, I need to come up with a way to convince the gnolls to raid Ringland. Since they no longer need to attack towns for food, how would I do this? I already know what I'll tell the palladin when I see him again, though: "I made sure that the town was empty before causing the volcano to erupt."

I do not have clairaudience/clairvoyence, and therefor no way to dicern the parties current location. Any thoughts? I'll check back once in awhile incase I remember a piece of information I forgot to include.

A paladin cannot knowingly and willingly associate with an evil character. If a paladin is trapped in a dungeon with an evil character. The evil character knows how to get out, but needs the paladins muscle. Paladin has the muscle, but needs the evil character's know-how. Could they work together to get out? My co- says that the paladin wouldn't break his code as long as he was trying to convert said evil character the entire time they were together. I disagree, saying that the paladin would be able to give the evil character one chance to turn away from his life of evil. If the evil character refused then the paladin would have to either head out on his own(if he is allowed to let the evil character live, which I don't think he can), or strike down the evil character immediately.

Could we get some input on this, please?

Any other situations that leave anyone unsure of wether or not a paladin would lose his paladinhood?

I have a player who wants to play a Vrill PC, but we can't find the stats for it. I have searched Drow of the Underdark from cover to cover several times and it has given me nothing. The stats for Vrill aren't where they are supposed to be. Nor are the specs for their abilities. Can someone help me with this?

Where are they located? I've checked every book I have access to and I can't seem to find them. Can someone help me please? While I'm asking questions, what are the rules on level adjusments? How do they effect exp and such? Joral and I can't find that either and it's become a constant arguement between us.

Contrary to the subject title, I'm not talking about good-aligned NPCs, but rather good enemies. I'm running out of NPCs, and I can't keep blaming everything on Dervious or my Necro. However, I tend to be pretty mean when designing NPCs and my players are getting kinda sick of having to run for their lives when I start grinning. So, with that said, I figured we could share some good villains. I just got outta jail and people were moving my stuff around, so I gotta find my papers, but I'll have some of my own up here before sundown tomorrow. In that thought, I think I'm gonna include some NPCs that aren't necesarrily enemies.

This place wouldn't happen to have an archives would it? I'm looking for some threads from last couple months.

Does anyone else set their campaigns in their own world? I see all the talk of Ebr, GH, and FR and I can't help but wonder.

My blighter keeps asking me random questions, some of which are rather intriguing. The latest question is can his skeletal horde wear rings, amulets, and the like. I thought about it and thought, "well . . . ummm. . . . I really don't know" and then voiced the similar. He thinks why not, and I tend to agree, but that may make his horde too powerful. Skeletons with rings of counterspell, or a mummy with a horde of squirrels due to his ring of animal friendship are the first thoughts in his mind. Any thoughts?

My blighter player asked me a question about said item, and after addressing the DMG I concluded that it was class specific and useless to him. However, in his defense I agreed to post the qestion here and see what the community thinks. Are Vestements of the Druid usefull to a blighter? As, do they give the blighter the extra use of Wildshape(or Undead Wildshape in his case)?

Anyone notice that the mithril shirt is much better than the elven chain in both stats and price? Not only does it have a higher dex bonus, no armor check penalty, and a less arcane failure percentage, but it also costs about a quarter of the price. My blighter player brought this to my attention (looking for it while playing one of his other characters). I was wondering if this was a typographical error or what the bonus to elven chain is that he or I must be missing.

Necrobump. Any answers would be really helpful to our progress. Even a simple suggestion.

The DMG fails me. I'm looking a more in depth description of the diseases and poisons, as well as liqours and drugs found in the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I question how the spells for the prestige class Blighter. I can see that they get spells, but in the description of the Deforestation ability it states that "Deforestation allows a blighter to cast her daily allotment of spells." So, does a blighter have to deforest an area before they can cast spells, or does it give them back their spells from that day? Or would it do both?

I'm looking for information on Kyuss, and I can't seem to find anything about Kyuss himself. Can someone tell me where I might find something? Dieties and Demigods was nil, as was Fiend Folio. Please help...?

This is an offshoot from the Gamer Parents/Gamer Kids thread. I believe gaming is hereditary. Why? Will, the answer involves my history. I didn't know my fatehr exsisted until I was 5...or 8...5. He bought me my first fantasy books at about 9(R.A. Salvatore's Icewind Dale Trilogy), which I didn't read because I wasn't interested at the time. I only ever saw my father once a year then. I read The Hobbit, got into DnD. Started playing Magic:The Gathering shortly after (got into DnD and Magic about the time Pokemon came out, got into Magic with the Apocolypse series). A couple of years ago I went to visit him in Hawaii and found that he had the biggest collection of Magic cards and DnD material I have ever seen in my life to this day. Do I need to sum it up for anyone?

Looking for any players in or near Mauston, Wisconsin. If you Do not know where it is you probably don't live near here. For referance, Mauston is between New Lisbon and Lyndon Station in Juneau County, which is directly to the left of Adams County.

What do you do about difficult players. One of my players is constantly trying to dodge and escape everything I plan, knowing that I have things planned, and it's extremely frustrating. I know it's the DMs job to make the game fun for the players, but it says no where in any of the books that they are supposed to get a hernia doing so. Another one of my players isn't helping any either. He just recently tried to get himself killed by not listening to the guards at the arena (they were captured and wrongly accused of conspiracy against the prince, now they have to fight as gladiators to earn there freedom back).

I was gonna make a querry, but I don't want to without giving precise information so I'm righting up the adventure first. Now I run into a different problem, I usually include plenty of undead. I don't want the adventure to seem like a rip off of AoW, so could I get some hints on what types of monsters you guys wouldn't mind seeing in an adventure? Of coarse there is no garuntee that the querry will even be excepted, let alone the adventure published, but I can't be scorned for trying.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me wether or not the AoW Adventure Path would be published like The Shackled City was. Does anyone know?

I was just wondering what the favored dieties were of people who frequent these boards. I have an "unatural love", as it has been decribed, for undead and therefor favor Vecna and Kyuss, but I'd take the Wormgod over Vecna anyday (he's got his own undead for pete's sake!!).

First I'll give you the situation, then the question.

I have a small group of new players. Actually it's two new players because the third never shows up and the rest have moved away. One of the two is playing a lvl 5 Half-Silver Dragon/Half-Elf female ranger the other is playing a lvl 5 Half-Fiend/Half-Orc male fighter. The fighter has played before...kinda, but it's been awhile. They aren't very bright and there ignorance might cost the prince his life as well cost us the campaign. I have not started them in the AoW campaign because they are new, I plan on killing there charecters and starting them in it with new ones when they get ahold of the game I and the first installments that I'm missing. Anyways, one of the NPCs that I have brought into Alhaster is actually my own character. A noble-hating level 41 Drow ranger. No, they can't beat him, but they don't have to. They have met him, one of them saw him running away from the scene of the first assassination attepmt on the prince's life. There characters haven't been able to put two and two together yet, though. They new who he is because they are personally familiar with him. One of the two, the one running the fighter, used to play a Hafling rogue whom I carried to lvl 37 because he didn't show up to most of the sessions.

They know that the prince's life is in danger, they think it's over a particular item that was hidden in his carraige. One of them saw Prince Zeech flee the broken carriage, followed shortly by a dark figure that dissapeered into the houses. They have met the dark figure on several occasion, once under the name of Jake Duron he saved the fighter from becoming a Spawn of Kyuss (I love undead, and the Spawns are my favorite. I'm rooting for Kyuss in this capmaign) after the fighter had been released from prison. He also has a deal with the owner of one of the taverns, under the guise of one called Siemz. Supplying the barkeep with an extrememly potent liqour. The ranger and her sister, a lvl 5 Half-White Dragon/Half-Elf wizard(the one who never shows up), have both ran payment to the figure.

The prince refuses to cancel his 15-year party, and they can think of no way into it. What should I do if the prince is killed do to our ignorance. Yes, I blam myself aswell for over estmimating there problem-solving abilities. Also, I have brought in another friend with much game experience. He still plays 2nd Edition ADnD with family every other weekend. He's going to run a lvl 5 Half-Celesial/Half-Dwarf male cleric of Pelor.

I now see I have forgotten something else. They are currently stuck in Alhaster because of a war. The one who started the war happens to be a necromancer who is currently in Alhaster and who is also the reason for the near-death of the fighter. As such the cleric has started out with a Shocking Burst Heavy Mace of Disruption. Actually, the reason for the mace, aswell as the Ring of Cure Serious wounds, is the fact that the fighter and ranger almost died at the hands of three Mohrgs. While Half-Dragons are immune to paralyzation, the fighter found out that Half-Fiends aren't the hard way and was tossed out of a second story window by the ranger.

I think I have included everything now...I'll make sure to say something if I realize I didn't.

I have a group of newbie players who couldn't handle this adventure path yet. I decided to start them out in Alhaster to get them used to the town, but I have a problem. One of the NPCs in the town is based off of my own PC, what should I do if Prince Zeech is killed? They PC aren't playing there way into the castle and they know that the Prince is in danger. 15 year party, already been one attempt at his life. The bad thing is they know who the NPC is, they've met him, they just have't figured out that he's the one. So I go back to my previous question:What should I do if the NPC manages to kill Prince Zeech?
