Well I appreciate all the advice, I genuinely tried to work out a solution, I got a good balance of items for $52ish shipping but to get there I had to be in the area of $135 or so, which is going to get tagged by customs for tariff changes (which aren't huge on books but its still another $30 ) as much as everyone loves pathfinder I struggle to think that anyone would pay $80 in shipping and tariff for $135 in goods - ill just wait I think and hope that there is an official announcement of plans sometime soon - Gencon perhaps, revised set maybe?

Excellent... Except that paizo.com charges $34.99 for the beginner box and $42.95 for shipping to Canada...
Easy solution buy 10 of them, then shipping comes out to be 4.30 each. :)

Actually that sends the shipping up to $125... I guess 12.50 per set is reasonable shipping ... More reasonable than 42.95

An Oversized Monster Box is indeed a great idea, but it'd also be very likely to be quite expensive. As far as costs are concerned, most are tied to the number of "sheets" in a set. The fewer creatures that fit on a single sheet, the more sheets you need to make the set worthwhile. The more sheets you have, the more expensive the product's got to be.

Think about how many creatures of Gargantuan or Colossal you'd need to pull off a truly satisfying collection. Then think about how many sheets it would take at the current size to cover them. Think about the retail price of that collection relative to the ones we're currently offering.

So yeah, it's a good idea, but ouch.

Then try a 'Dragon set,' 'abberation set,' 'Fiendish set,' etc... You make good points, but you can always break something like that up.

+1 this!

This was exactly my first thought - I would buy a dragon supplement for gargantuan and collossal - or a beast set etc.

I'm very happy to report that the Pathfinder Beginner Box is sold out in every major retailer in Toronto and in every online store in Canada including amazon (sold out of .com too!). Of course this is a bit disappointing to me since I don't have one yet :). I assume that it's reprinting, is this indeed the case? Is there an ETA when we might see it again in Canada?
