thank you!

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/t/teleport

in the manual the target of the spell is:
"you and touched objects or other touched willing creatures"
so I presume that the caster can choose between
1) teleport himself
2) teleport himself and other
3) teleport others without teleporting himself

going on reading the manual there is the sentence:

As with all spells where the range is personal and the target is you, you need not make a saving throw, nor is spell resistance applicable to you

the sentence has the only purpose of clarifying the rule about saving throw and spell resistance or it means also that the caster can't choose the options 3 ?

thank you

p.s.
I hope the english is clear

Hello,

I am fairly new to 3.5 and am definitely new to Pathfinder. I will be playing in a game as a Human Sorcerer and I was wondering if anyone had any advice as far as feat selection was concerned. The core rulebook and advanced player's guide will be the only books we are using.

I plan on staying as a straight class Sorcerer, of the Abyssal bloodline, all the way to level 20. I am not really used to playing arcane casters, so the feat selection has become difficult for me.

My question is what feats are generally regarded as being 'good' and what feats might be essential for me. There are a few out there that I am already seeing, but I would like the advice of player's who have had experience playing Sorcerer's. What metamagic feats are worth taking? Also, keep in mind that we will just be using the core rulebook and the advanced player's guide.

And thank you for anyone taking the time to help me out with this, I really do appreciate it.

you can look at this

Go to Minstrel's guide to sorcerers.

In that case I'll have to check it out. I didn't check yours out because it is excel based but sounds like it might migrate ok.

I used the Erian7 sheet both with excel and openoffice calc and I never noticed compatibility errors.

I also tried this:

I reset the printing area to include the first 96 rows (so I expected that the print was correct)but again it didn't print the last rows.

Hmm, I'll fiddle around with OO a bit and see what I can come up with. I don't actually have any A4 paper on hand for a test, however...

I can see the problem also in the print preview so I think you don't need the paper.

the strange thing is the different behaviour of the "twins sheet" the print preview of the front sheet is ok while the print preview of the spells sheet is ko.

p.s.
I tried the portrait version and the print in A4 module is perfect.

Okay folks, here's v.0.8, in both Landscape and Portrait formats:

Landscape Character Sheet File: PRPG_CS_L_v_0_8.zip

in the p-back sheet in the magic item section, in the title line (Es. "BELT (BELT OR GIRDLE)"), there isn't the "unify cells" (I don't have an openoffice englsh version and I'm translating the function name a cappella) and the word value isn't always in the right position.

then I have a problem with printing.
I rearrange the format of the page in A4, make 4 margins of 0,5 cm and select the 2 flags centre horizontal and centre vertical.

in this way the P-front and p-back sheets are perfectly printed while in the sheets p-abilities&feats, p-spells and p-character info the last cells are missing. for example in the p-spells are printed only the first 96 row.
I tried all the rearrangement of the page I can but I didn't solve the problem, do you have any idea of the difference between the p-front and p-spells sheets that can affect the printing?

thank you for your help.

everyone in my group just makes what ever character they want

also in my group.

in our current campaign we need a tracker and we fill with a NPC

in the "back" sheet in the cell BD31 there's a formula with all the description of magic item.
the formula is "=B15&B19&B23&B27&B31&B35&B39&AC15&AC19& ;AC23&AC27&AC31&AC35&AC39"

the cell is very small so you see a tiny letter only, I've moved the formula on the box "magic items note" to solve the problem, but I don't know if this is what you had in mind.

p.s.
I like the new layout, is much better than before (imho) thank you.

Yes, I have allowed magic, but in some ways I am beginning to regret it

if you seek "low magic" you can take a look to warhammer fantasy roleplay wfrp.

some links

Adso wrote:

Although most players seem to be having a good time, some of them are frustrated with the lack of loot and magical items and such

this could be a seriuos problem.

Some roleplayers really love having magic stuff and I ended my wfrp campaign because in my group there were some players complaining the best equipment they had was a masterwork sword (+1 to hit); so we stop with wfrp and we started with pathfinder.
my advice is to make it clear since the beginning that the campaign is low magic and there will be a few and litte powerful magic object and be sure that each player agrees with this.

I hope the english is clear ( it's a long speech for me ;) )

Okay, I checked it out in OO and it looks like that app's Data Validation function is stripping out the blank selection (I'm using trait name="") from list. So, the VLOOKUP fails since there's no trait name, returning an N/A. The Traits_Summary then fails as it is also checking to see whether the trait name="".

I'll see if I can tweak it to get around this issue.

thank you very much!!

I don't know if it might be of help but I'm almost sure that the version "PRPG_CS_v_0_7_11.xls" hadn't this problem(unfortunately I havn't a backup to check it)

erian_7 wrote:

Hmm, I'm not seeing this error. What OS/application are you using? Can anyone else confirm this issue?

I'm using openoffice calc 3.1.1 version.

Until now I never noticed any compatibility problem with openoffice, my last licesend version of excel is the 97 and it has the same problem

in the "PRPG_CS_v_0_7_12" the description of traits in the "Abilities & Feats" sheet doesn't appear if the character has less of 4 traits.

So my character has only 2 traits and the description I see is "#N/D" but if I put 2 more traits in the "Character Options" sheet then I see the correct description

As far as I can understand, all the other abyssal bloodline abilities would have been cut off after Sorcerer 6. When at Sorcerer 6 /Fighter 1 /Eldritch Knight 2, such a character would gain neither a bonus abyssal bloodline feat nor an increase to her claw damage (despite casting as a Sorcerer 7).

I understood the same

I understand that the Dragon Disciple prestige class is an anomaly (in that it allows the draconic bloodline Sorcerers to continue accruing their bloodline powers)

no. the dragon diciple has his own growth path and the only things that yuu choose from your previous draconic bloodline are the bonus features

Bellona wrote:

but what about all the other prestige classes - both 3.5 and PF - which improve a Sorcerer's spellcasting? How do they affect the Sorcerer's number of spells known?

it should be like your first example your number of spells known and spells per day increase on the basic sorcerer's table (pag 72 and 73 of the pdf manual) but you won't have any bonus from your bloodline (no bonus spells, no bonus feat, ecc.)

I've used my sorcerer in the new release(PRPG_CS_v_0_7_9.xls) and perception and survival are treated like class skill (they have the check and the +3 bonus if I put a rank on them)

thank you for all yuor work

I found your xls character sheet very useful.
I'm using it with a level 2 infernal bloodline sorcerer and there's an error in the variable Class_Ability_Summary

even if the character is only second level I can see also the power "Infernal resistance" that I'd earn at third level.
On the other hand I tried a level 9 sorcerer and there's no sign of the "Hellfire" ability that should be present.

I tried to correct by myself but I made a mess so can you correct it on the next release?

thank you very much

p.s.
I hope I wrote everything right because english is not my mother tongue
