The son of a Taldan Count and Countess and gifted with a brilliant mind, one would believe that Anthony was never of want for anything. And to a degree, you'd be right. Showing an aptitude for arcane studies at a young age, his parents encouraged this love of work, with his father in particular pushing him to be better constantly. It was this constant need to impress his parents that lead Anthony to develop his greatest creation by age 16: the arcane singularity. An amulet fashioned to draw in latent magical power and provide a theoretically infinite amount of arcane power.
While his parents were pleased with his work by this point, they had unwittingly instilled a sense of self-perfection and need for success and recognition in Anthony. Needing to tap this source of unlimited energy for greater purposes, Anthony began developing a system that could harness this power source, creating a large engine that could tap this power and mold the energy his singularity produced into practical spell purposes. In an effort to show his father the results of his work, Anthony rushed through his attempted demonstration, releasing a blast of magical energy that leveled a full wing of the family estate, as well as destroying a significant amount of his work. Furious and disappointed, Anthony was sent away to study with the Cyphermages of Riddleport, hoping that having a teacher would teach Anthony some discipline and control, as well as put a good continent's worth of distance between them.
To a degree, they were successful.
Anthony learned two things in his studying with the Cyphermages. The first was that he was right: the arcane singularity could do exactly what he thought it could do - shape raw arcane energy into power - but that he needed to start smaller. The second was that the runes used by ancient Thassilon could be the key to his success. Working fervently to replicate his previous work, Anthony recreated his arcane singularity on a smaller scale, and for his device, he decided to keep it small as well - a gauntlet that mounts on his hands. To help shape the power as he saw fit, he turned to the runes of the Cyphergate, duplicating them on a smaller scale and converting them into small chips they could be fitted into his gauntlet to help mold the energy his singularity fed them.
But this is merely the start of his work. Anthony has drawn up far greater plans for this creation of his - a fully fledged suit of armor powered by his amulet. Relentless in the pursuit of his work, Anthony wants to study more of Thassilon's works further, taking his leave of his mentors in the Cyphermages to pursue his own studies. He wants to rebuild what he lost in his first major accident back home. He wants his work to be known throughout the corners of Golarion. He will succeed... or die trying.
