Himegawa Hinata, Kami no Miko NG monk/shaman (life) gestalt
1) she is a young idealistic assimar shrine maiden from a shinto temple in a rural region of Minkai
2) growing up she spent most of her time following around her older brother Shinku, as their parents were often busy with the shrine
3) her brother left home suddenly and with no explanation, Hinata did not take it very well
4) she is very naive and sheltered and has a hard time believing people are capable of evil and deception
5) once she got word where Shinku went she dropped everything to go after him, only leaving a simple 'going to find shinku' note for her parents
6) has not been in the city long, and speaks with an accent, but is appalled by the acts of its rulers and wants to help
7) has not quite been cheated out of all her money yet, and has managed to find temporary lodging in the attic of a herbalist who she helps by tending the plants
8) has run out of clues as to location of her brother
9) thinks that the rulers could not possibly be evil and thinks that negotiation and peaceful protests is the way to go (yes she is that gullible, and will be quite shaken when proved wrong)
10) is a vegetarian
goals
1) to find her brother and convince him to come back to Minkai (once she finds out what he has been doing, it will change to redeem him, if she/the party is forced to kill him it will break her heart but will prove to be a good rp moment)
2) to help make things better for the people she sees suffering
3) do enough good that her parents don't yell and scream too loudly when she gets back home
4) not get forced home against her will
secrets
1) she was expressly forbidden to leave home and told to forget about her brother, and left in secret, her family is likely looking for her to take her back home.
2) the rest of her family is human and her birth as an aasimar was seen as a divine portent, she was supposed to lead the temple when she get older and wiser.
3) What she does not know is that the heirloom naginata that she took when she left was more than just an ornamental object hanging on the wall. (could be sentimental to her father, has historical significance, or whatever evil plot the DM feels like springing)
4) what she doesn't know is that her brother was adopted and left home when he discovered his real family was of the nobility here, and he is now one of the people responsible for the oppression. His mother came to this region to escape his evil father when he was baby, but died due to illness shortly after and he was taken in by her parents who knew all along who his real family was and did not want him to find out.
people
1) parents: they are kind but authoritative and over protective, they will be trying to get her to come back home (indirectly, see ninja)
2) Old Man Henderson: elderly owner of the herbalism store she has been working at recently, he is kind, and unknown to her, a member of the resistance
3) brother: she cares for him deeply, but he is now a member of the ruling classes, she only sees him as the kind older brother she remembers, not as the cruel man he has now become
4) ninja: she knows not his name or that he is even here, his job is to get her back to the temple she left
5) Tina: barmaid at the tavern near where she works, Hinata has become friends with her and Tina is the source of most of what she knows about the city and current events.
6) Oglaf: Owner of the bar Tina works at. Hinata worked for him in the kitchen when she first came to the city, until he found her a job working for Old Man Henderson, as she is much better at growing plants than cooking them, the fact she hated cooking meat (and had no idea how to) also influenced this decision. Oglaf is also a member of the resistance.
7) Tama her spirit animal, a minor kami that tries to give her advice and keep her out of trouble, he is not all that good at it.
memories
1) she remembers her brother taking care of her when she was little, and remembers him being kind and patient especially when teaching her how to fight with a naginata
2) she remembers him and her parents having a massive argument the night before he left, but her room was too far away to hear exactly what they were arguing over.
3) she remembers quite a few times Tama told her to not trust someone on the trip here, but not knowing why. (Tama actually bothers to roll sense motive, Hinata doesn't)
4) she remembers getting seasick more than once on the boat ride here
5) she remembers the sailors on the ship paying her a lot of attention, but is not sure why, and did not understand what they were saying half of the time, she put it down to language barrier, Tama laughed his ass off and refused to explain why he thought it to be funny.
