Ah, there's nothing quite so old-timey masculine as actually using whiskey for medicinal purposes.

Still working on the particulars, but here is what I have for Vicky so far.

Cool. Who is she based off of?

Local equivalent.

McCoy is fine.

Go ahead an increase your ability scores.

What are the build guidelines?

10th level, money as CRB for 10th level, all races classes, options, equipment, and magic items from CRB, APG, UC, and UM allowed. Ability scores 30 point buy.

Rapier is fine.

We start once we have two more people.

Jedi Luke and Doom Marine are accepted. Does McCoy have a profile up?

Oh, yes. Jedi be AWESOME.

Hmmm...a Bandit Rogue wielding a gun as Han Solo would be interesting.

It would.

As the creator of a "Captain Andoran" character, I don't see the problem with names for fun. My character, with Throw Anything, Exotic weapon Proficiency: Throwing Shield, Equipment Trick: Shield and a +1 Returning Mithril Throwing Shield has been loads of fun for me and other players at the tables I have played him. Locally, we have a whole group of "PFS Avengers", most of them character concepts built just for fun. And isn't that what the game is all about?

I read this post, then I had to post this thread. It sounds like so much fun. I like serious roleplaying, but I have no problem with this kind of thing if it's said up front that it is not a serious campaign. I think it'll be great.

have you checked the profile

Yes. It works fine.

@ Woody: Whatever you feel is best

@ Ozy: Hellboy would be cool.

"I'm a doctor, not a dungeon delver!"

LOL.

Is it bad form to tell the players what the enemy is before the game if I am bursting to say what I came up with? The comic book villain I chose Pathfinderizes incredibly easily. The perfect class and prestige class are right there in the core rules.

@ Woody: That is okay.

@ Seagull: I am willing to allow that.

Can I play a mute gunslinger with Quick Draw, a bag of holding and every firearm available in the manual? I would like to play the Marine from Doom.
The Gunslinger doesn't really seem to fit that well, but I guess you could try to make it work.
What do you mean, it doesn't fit? It uses guns.

I always saw the Gunslinger as a Wild West thing and Doomguy as a tank. I'm not saying don't do it, I was just making a comment. If you want to try it out, go ahead.

What's the starting level going to be on this?

Does 10 sound good?

Will really overdone cliche's be viable too?

Depends on the cliche. I'd really prefer popular characters, though.

Hmmm, off the top of my head ...

A half-orc or orc barbarian with max possible strength who is green, red or gray skinned and Beast Totem to attack bare handed (perhaps with a feat to change colors as you yell SMASH!)

Human monk/martial artist who takes the Fleet feat twice at first level and dresses all in red (say hello to the Flash)

Any archer build for Hawkeye, Robin Hood, Green Arrow, Red Arrow, etc.

A ninja with sword who covers his whole burnt body in clothing (hey there Deadpool).

Cavalier (Shining Night)

Batman (gestalt)

Tiefling gunslinger/magus (Dante)

Damphyr with prestidigitation to sparkle (Twilight)

Damphyr ranger who favored enemy undead (Blade)

Anyone wearing a mask

Summoner equals Pokemon

The thief who steals everything that isn't nailed down

Alchemist for Dr. and Mr. Hyde

Which are your favorites?

I already have a Pathfinderized comic book supervillain ready for our first encounter ^_^.

Hmm...Tempted to make a Titan Mauler Barbarian and duel wield Flying Blades, maybe with the firey enchantment.

I'll allow this. Kratos is Greek, not Medieval, so the ban on Medieval inspired characters doesn't apply to him.

Edgar Lamoureux wrote:
I wanna make Captain Andoran.

I knew someone would. Go ahead.

The one thing I have to ask is no Pathfinderizing heroes from Medieval tech level stories. The idea of this campaign is to have fun taking video game characters who shouldn't really belong here in a Medieval setting and recreating them with Medieval rules.

After reading this thread, I thought it would be fun to start up a campaign like the one Michael VonHasseln was talking about. Simply put, make a character blatantly based off a well known movie, video game, TV, or comic book hero using stuff from the CRB, APG, UC, and UM, and play a campaign with no seriousness what so ever. Just screw around and have fun with it.

At the moment, I'm gauging interest, so I do not have any character creation details up. If enough people show interest, I will work those details out.

Going to bed for the night. Will check back in the morning and answer any and all questions and work out further details then.
