When the battle is won, Amnayel drops her blade and shield to the ground, falling to her knees. Pulling her helmet off, she looks back to see her companions made it as well and nods. Spreading her wings wide, she lifts her chin to the heavens and opens her arms. She inhales a long breath and holds it for a few seconds before releasing it. "The task is complete, I am ready." As the light comes, she closes her eyes and smiles.
Failing to move out of the way in time, Amnayel is trapped inside of the forcecage. Surrounded on all sides, she screams in frustration and starts to beat the ever-living crap out of the cube with her sword.
*1.5=45 damage Amnayel avoids being disintegrated, only a portion of her body getting scorched from the attack. She feels her link with Gabriel tugging on her and inhales a breath as the glaive strikes her. Redirecting the damage to herself, she helps keep the archer on her feet for a little awhile longer. Amnayel lays hand on herself to heal her damage and tries once again to strike the Tyrant!
Amnayel heals herself with a flick of her wrist and tries to lay into the Tyrant. Unfortunately however, she quickly finds his defenses are unlike any she has ever seen before.
Turning to Gabriella, she says "It is time to fulfil your destiny, Gabriella, as it is for me. Goodbye." She pecks a kiss on the inquisitors cheek before leaping into the air and flying to meet The aasimar is not afraid of the Tyrant and leaps up to meet him, healing herself on the way.
Amnayel smites gallowdead and tries to hack away at him, but the toll of nearly dying and being fully healing within seconds of each other leave her slightly disoriented and her attacks suffer.
Amnayel does her part and stands in front of Gabbi as her stalwart defender, ready to do what needs to be done. As the inquisitor lets the arrows fly, she yells "YOUR TIME HAS COME TO AN END!" Amanayel turns back to Gabbi and places her hand on the inquistors chest. "I will give life for your to keep you on your feet. Strike true."
[ooc]You create a powerful bond between yourself and a single creature. Until the end of the spell’s duration, each time the target is hit with an attack or fails a Saving Throw, you can take the full damage of that attack and any other effects that creature suffers. If you choose not to take on the damage and effects, you instead take a number of points of damage equal to your Constitution score as backlash. Any resistances or immunities you have are applied normally, but you cannot otherwise reduce or negate the damage or effects of either the transfer or the backlash. If you or the subject of the spell move out of line of sight, the spell ends
Amnayel nods, satisfied with the response. "Very good. Let us go and by her some space then, shall we?"
Turning to Gildais, Amnayel shakes her head no. "I appreciate your dedication, but now is not the time to throw in for death, not yet at least. We still have our primary objective ahead of us and I for one will not be stopped until we complete it." With regards to the Cairn King, Amnayel agrees with Allie's statement. "I have no doubts she will dispatch this creature quickly." Turning to the inquisitor, she adds "I will keep your path clear."
Though she's been hit twice, the combined injuries aren't even worth her time healing. She swings her blade four times, speaking a bit between each strike. "I have to admit, of all of the foes we have faced in the last weeks, you by far are the least dangerous. How did you come to possess such station with so little power?"
"I do not understand, where is Ulrich and why has he not returned yet?" the aasimar asks when they are ready to depart in the morning. "Surely we are to give him some more time to return from wherever he has temporarily departed to." She looks to Nosoi, sure that her friend has answers. "He has said nothing to you?" --- When Lyanthari crosses them, Amnayel wishes she could say she is surprised. "It was inevitable that this would end with your destruction." Deflecting most of the blow, she returns her own series of strikes after smiting the soon to be permanently dead-dead servant.
Amnayel once more channels and lays hands on herself to heal. She frowns at Ulrich's assumption "A divine lich? That seems highly improbably, though we have seen our share of improbabilities on this journey so I suppose it is not impossible." Moving to Gabriella's side, she asks "Are you ready to continue on? You look weary, shall I carry you so that you may conserve your strength?"
Gritting her teeth as the massive pain spike transfer from Gabriella to herself, Amnayel survives the blast and also does some healing of her on, sending a burst of divine energy to all (54) then laying hands on herself as well.
Amnayel sheathes her blade and turns to make sure Gabriella is alright before suggesting "We have cleansed the area as discussed, I believe it's time to return to Lyanthari?" If in agreement, she will turn and lead the way.
Amnayel stays behind the wall as well, readying herself to intercept should anything to to get to Gabriella.
"Your time has come. I take no joy in delivering your judgment." Amnayel says, smiting woman.
Amnayel shuts up with Alessandra gives a stern talking to Kamosh. She's about to say something to its defense when it moves to her shoulder. Happy to have some personal contact with the creature again, she speaks to the psychopomp in their shared language. Celestial:
"She did not mean to take such a tone with you, you know. She is only trying to do what is best for all of us. For what it's worth, I agree with you."
When Ceto speaks, Amnayel whispers to Kamosh "You should move back, my friend." and strides forward to engage and proclaims boldly "I do not know you, but I do not like your tone of voice. Identify yourself and your purpose here or we will be forced to dispatch you with righteous vengeance in our pursuit of the Tyrant's ultimate destruction!"
Amnayel looks to not-Kamosh and nods, "I concur with this assessment.", moving to the front and readying her blade for any trickery or aggression. Still, she holds her attack while the others converse.
Amnayel is flung to the ground by the explosion, but thankfully she is agile enough to land on her feet and dodge some of the shrapnel. Standing, she makes sure there are no threats before checking with each party member to ensure they are alright. "Alessandra, I think Gabriella could use your healing touch." She then takes a quick look at the items before turning to Ulrich. "I cannot make sense of these items, do they mean anything to you or should we move on?"
Amnayel cries out from the massive damage she takes from the creature grappling her as well as the one injuring Gabriella. She hands hands on herself and then sends a channel of divine energy for healing out as well.
Amnayel doesn't protest their decision to avoid making this creature their ally. Instead, she steps up in front of her and tries to bash her four times with her new shield.
Amnayel tightens her grip on her sword and moves towards the creature, just in case negotiations go poorly.
Amnayel takes the shield and lifts it a few times, trying it out. "I've never used a shield this large before. I will try it out." --- "Give me a moment to search. I agree that it seems unwise to leave before doing so."
"It can try." Amnayel says in response to Gabriella's comment, moving quickly to engage it. Stepping up to it, she unleashes her blade upon it and tries to stop it from flensing any skin.
Having closed the distance, Amnayel does her best to make due on her threat and repeatedly aims for the medusa's head.
Amnayel flies up to meet the medusa head on, declaring "I will have your unholy head!"
"HOLD ON!" the paladin shouts, taking to the air and smites the creature, trying her best to free Gabbi. Attacks:
"That don't impress me much." Amnayel says in response to the attempted fear attack. In response, she introduces him to her weapon, "You should instead be fearing the wrath that is about to be brought down about your miserable existence. I shall now deliver you to peace." and begins to swing her blade, smiting the creature.
Amnayel lays hands on herself before channeling and moving towards the evil, hidden(?) speaker that welcomed them.
"One moment." Amnayel says, detecting evil to pinpoint the speaker.
"Bring them all on." Amnayel turns to Gabriella and comments "For what it's worth, I think you would make a beautiful centaur, Gabriella." When ready, she then casts a few spells to protect them. "Gather around." she instructs, reaching out to put both of her hands on either twin.
If they are able to determine when they are about to start combat, she will use divine bond before going in, otherwise she will wait until they are engaged.
"I do not trust you, but I am all in favor of eliminating these evil dwellers you speak of. Let us pass to, what did you call it, cause minor mischief? And when we are done we will return." For you.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Lyanthari. I am called Amnayel."
Amnayel thinks nothing of it, "It is why I am here. I've come to understand that now. My strength cannot fell these foes, but your arrows and your magic." she says, looking between them, "Is what it will take. For this, I will give up my body to see this task through."
Amnayel is able to absorb half of spell that injures Gabriella, once more preventing her from dying. Together with the damage she took from the creature, she cries out in pain. She reaches out to heal herself before channeling a burst of positive energy.
Amnayel is all giggles and smiles and eagerly accepts Gabriella's invitation to join the sisters for an evening celebration. ---
The paladin moves out of the way of most of the blast, casting her shield spell on Gabriella.
Stretching her arms out, Amnayel continues soar upwards, beating her wings until she's high enough to swoop around in a spiral. She catches sight of Gabriela and reaches out to take both of her hands, spinning both in of them in a circle as she laughs loudly. "He'd done it! HE'S DONE IT!" she cheers loudly, tears of sheer joy splashing down her as she dances with the inquisitor in the air.
She doesn't know why she trusts the necromancer, but she does. She omits her thoughts on what might happen should he not be truthful and takes a deep breath and steps up to hold the diamond. As she holds it in her hands, she does exactly as he states. Amnayel has no clue what spell is being cast, but she waits anxiously with the hope that this is a reward for her continued dedication and not a further trick at her expense. When the diamond disappears and he stops speaking, she opens her eyes. She doesn't feel any different, so she pulls off her gauntlet to look at her hand. She sucks in her breath when she sees the pale skin replaced by her original bronzed skin. She quickly rips off her other gauntlet and gasps when she sees the same thing. She reaches for her face and runs her hand up it into her hair, the mangy dark hair now replaced with fine silky stands of golden blonde locks. She pulls a handful to her nose and inhales its scent before turning to accept the mirror from Gabriella. She raises the mirror slowly, her arm trembling in anticipation of what she might see. When her eyes fall upon her old self, tears burst from her eyes. She's gasps and is about to speak, but catches sight of her wings in the mirror and beats them once. Twice before crouching and leaping up into the air, spiraling upwards once again.
"Peace." Amnayel repeats, letting the words hang in the air while she thinks. The paladin weighs the words of the necromancer, trying to determine if this is yet again another trick that she just unable to comprehend. Despite her feelings of this being more than what is being offered, the possibility of reclaiming her body is simply too much for her to resist. Tugging on the strings of her heart, she relents. "Would the situation present itself, I do not know that I would give my life for yours as I have for Gabriella and Alessandra. I despise both your morals and your actions as you demonstrated time and again that we pursue our mutual goal from differing perspectives. That said," she pauses to draw long breath, "I would very much like to reclaim my aasimar form. Returning me to my body would go a long way in helping to establish a peace, I sould suppose."
Amnayel considers the proposition that has been placed before her. She wants nothing more than to reclaim the body she was born with, but truth be told she does not trust Ulrich whatsoever. Despite his words, there is surely some scheme or plan he has concocted that benefits him in some way. The former aasimar takes her helm off and holds it in her left arm, braced against her side as she turns to face Ulrich. "Being as you murdered me and then reincarnated me in another body to prove your might, forgive me if I do not take your words at face value. Am I to believe you are doing this out of the kindness of your heart then? Is this just a way for you to allow me to willingly submit to your spell?" Shifting her weight, she approaches the man slowly until she is only a foot away from him. "Why should I trust you now?"
Amnayel does not share Gabriella's confidence. She looks between the inquisitor and the necromancer twice before stating flatly "I will continue to pursue our task regardless of what form my body is in. Though you may have shamed me by stripping me of my original body, my soul is outside of your reach and my purpose here will not change should I remain as I am now." The paladin turns away from Ulrich and begins to walk away. After just a few steps she stops and pauses. Remaining facing the other direction, she says "Should I be given the blessing of having my body restored, I would be thankful. If you expect me to fall to a knee and beg you to return what you stole from me, I will not be stooping to that level. This is not a question you should even need to ask me."
Amnayel blinks at the question, unsure how to handle it. Through her mask she tries to discern if he's telling the truth or not, but this was never truly an area of strength for her and she's not quite sure what to make of it. Likely is that he is yet again messing with you. "Are you wishing yet another joke at my expense, Ulrich? You seemingly cannot be satisfied through any other exercise other than to rib me. Why would you even ask that question."
Groaning at the drain on her life, Amnayel quickly does what she can to try and heal it.
She then continues to try and destroy this spirit.
Once on the other side, Amanayel begins to swing her longsword at the spirit dwarf!
Smiting one, Amnayel's holy blade flashes as she buries it into it repeatedly.
Amnayel does not run from evil, that just is not how things are done. Instead, she turns to her companions and casts spell(s) to help protect them.
"We're we supposed to find an ally in here? Perhaps this is it?" Amnayel whispers back to the twins, overhearing their conversation while Ulrich talks.
"What?!" Amnayel says, disappointed. "Do not run away from me!" she shouts in frustration, before slumping a bit as the drain on her life sinks in.
The damage she took shouldn't hurt this bad, at least that's what Amnayel tells herself as she groans in pain. She doesn't protest too loudly, there will be time to heal later. For now, she was a shield wall. Standing between Gabbi and the giant, she smites the creature and tries to wail on it with her sword.
