At seeing the undead creature, Amaya holds her tongue, and keeps close to Karana, and behind Kyrie.

Amaya just smiles at her friend, pulling her in for a quick hug. "You did well, and you had the best of intentions. That's all that matters."
He then gets up as Beau, Amaya and Kyrie heal him. "Ye all have my grratitude. I shall rrepay ye in kind vhen I have the chance." Amaya shakes her head, her smile easily finds it's way to her face. "If we were to keep a tally of who owed who, it would never end. We are comrades, are we not?"
Amaya shirks away from the puddle of melted ooze, not entirely convinced that it no longer posed a risk. "How in the world can something like that even be considered living?" The young undine woman gingerly makes her way over to Beau and Gofran, offering a touch of healing, if they want.
Amaya makes her way into the room and recoils at the sight of the slime, "Is that thing natural?! Is it eating them? Oh gods!" She recoils in force, casting a minor lightning spell at the ooze. ◆ Stride
While the others chat with the kobold - Zarf? - Amaya slowly kneels next to the other one, making sure not to make any threatening movements. She says, "Let me help your friend," she says absently to Zarf while simultaneously touching his wounded companion, restoring some of his life to him.
As usual, Amaya has been keeping her peace during their exploration. She never was a chatty girl, and the stone over their head makes her feel a little more subdued than usual. Still, as they are walking down the hallway, and the painting catches Alak's eye, the young oracle can't help but smile at the very human-like expression on the knight's face. "I don't think you have to be an appreciator of art to appreciate something with a personal tie. In fact, I don't think anyone would appreciate such a thing, despite it's value, than someone like yourself who is tied to it by blood." ------------- Amaya can't help but notice Bea's conversation with Gofran about her little octopus friend. At the mention of water, she adds, "If he is ever in need of a fresh dose of water, please be sure to let me know." She gives the young gnome a warm smile.
Amaya responds as quickly as she is able to Alak's cries of pain. Instinctively, she reaches out and snatches up the clean, dripping water from the air, and uses it to soothe and bind the armiger's wounds. She then steps around the corner of the doorway to a spot that she hopes is out of the way of the worst of the battle.
Amaya peers into the room her eyes drawn to the area directly in the middle of the room, where the water lays stagnant. It draws her attention for reasons that she can not consciously fathom.
Amaya has been keeping her own council for the past while, but when she hears Beatrix' translation of the message on the wall, she walks over to inspect it herself, though she has no means of translating it. "You don't think that those dragon-things from the courtyard were able to write this, do you?"
Amaya stiffles her gasp of surprise at her revelation, and gestures for Kyrie, Karana, and Gofran to come closer. She would call Beau and Bea, as well, but they seem well engrossed in the coversation. Once they are close enough to speak without being overheard, she relays the information that she has gleaned. "I don't think that they are going to be peaceful, at least not without using force."
Hearing what Beatrix is translating from the creatures, her mind starts to wander, visiting memories and knowledge, some of it not hers.
Amaya nods at Beau, and removes the bandolier, which carries all of her healer's tools. "I'm not that good at it, other than basic First Aid stuff, but I always try to keep my tools organized."
Amaya smiles at Alak, glad that she was able to be of some use that makes her feel better about herself. While the others discuss the enemies that they just defeated, Amaya's attention is drawn inwardly to the source of her power; he eyes even roll back partly into her head.
Amaya winces when Alak takes the blow to the head, instinctively, she reaches out to touch the Armiger, allowing power to flow through her like water to knit his wound somewhat, before casting another jolt of lightning. ◆ Lay on hands
Amaya swallows back the bile threatening to rise from her throat at the sound of combat. "Your friends need you. Get in there,"she tells herself, as her feet start to move. Standing in the short hall, she can make out the enemy in the crowded chaos of the fight. She picks out two, and unleashes lightning, which leaps from one, over the heads of her comrades, into the other. ◆ Stride
Seeming to recover from her illness, Amaya nods in thanks, "I don't know if I will ever get used to it, but I will do my best to endure, and I certainly appreciate your efforts, both of you." Standing up straight again, she heads back into the room with Karana, a small part of her feeling relieved to see the creatures still breathing.
Slightly bent over at the waist and leaning against the hallway wall, Amaya nods in understanding, obviously looking a little haggard from her revelation, but she tries to smile at her friend in return. "I've never had to take the life of another sentient creature before. Even for survival. Hunting and fishing are different things all together."
At first, Amaya is ecstatic that she is able to consciously control her budding magic, until it dawns on her that she killed two living creatures, even ones that intended the same to them. The moment that thought hits her, she feels an immediate sense of sickness wash over her. "Excuse me," she says, her voice heavy, as she turns back into the hallway. A mild retching sound can be heard by anyone listening.
Amaya steps closer to the engagement, trying to keep her arms and legs from shaking as she summons more electricity at the targets. ◆ Step
Seeing her comrades rush into battle with an new foe, Amaya makes her way closer that she may see the enemy. "Frogs...?" she ponders briefly before shaking the thought away. She calls on the storm and sends a shock of electricity bouncing between them. ◆ Stride
Amaya tries her best to only glance at the birds from her peripheral vision, but it's hard. Despite their aggression, the birds' plumage looks absolutely stunning. "What would such creatures even be doing down here? They certainly don't look like any bird that I've ever seen."
Amaya places a comforting hand on Bea's head, and gives the halfling a warm smile when she looks up.
Amaya was enjoying the trek back to the citadel, and the company of friends. Once they get down into the underground, in the dark and cold basement, her countenance is less cheery. She does take at least a little bit of solace from the moisture on the walls; a small comfort of familiarity. She steals one of the blackberries on their way by and a look of pure bliss washes over her face, gloomy basement forgotten for a moment.
After the group splits up the earnings and loot, Amaya will see if anyone would like to make use of the bottled lightning that they received before selling it to Quarters and Bits. She is happy to be back on the road again, despite the destination, and hums a pleasant little tune to herself while walking.
Amaya accepts the badge, a little wide-eyed as she examines it, but she turns her attention back to the conversation. "I believe that this is where I'm to be, so if I can be of use to Breachill, and those with me, I will continue to do so."
Amaya sleeps easily that night, but is interrupted by something that she hears at the back of her consciousness. Not really sure what draws her, she makes her way from her small room in the Great Dreamhouse, and makes her way to the garden, and the fountain within. As she sits on the edge, looking into the water, a form starts to take shape of the water itself. Oddly, the shape starts to look like it is no longer crafted from water, but coral, with a pearlescent sheen to it. She knows immediate, though without any clue as to how, that she is looking on the physical manifestation of Lysianassa, the Empress of the Torrent. No words are spoken, as the shape, that of a sailfish, holds her attention as if she were physically being grasped. There is a sense of pride, but urgency. The path is being layed out, she only needs to trust and walk. Learn to use the gifts give, and do not fear them. A trust in those around you as well. They will be pivotal to success. Amaya wakes up, with the sun shining through the open ceiling, finding herself still in the garden, asleep on the edge of the fountain. The night before is still fresh in her memory, but was she truly awake for it? The young oracle suddenly realizes that there is something pressing against her palm, and she opens it to see a small carved sailfish, made of some unusual mix of coral and mother-of-pearl. She tucks the trinket away with a smile on her face, and heads back to her room to get ready for the day.
------------------- Amaya greets everyone with a warm smile when they all join up. She responds to Bea, "That may be best. We were hired by them, after all, and they will want to know that the goblins are safe." Amaya seems to hold herself with a confidence that wasn't evident the day before. The tone in her voice also belies the same. Perhaps the day before had just exhausted her.
"Should we report back to the town before we go venturing any further?" Amaya asks.
"Once ve rreturrn to Brreachtown, ve also need to talk vith the council once morre. I believe this development and the possibility o' porrtals varrrant an incrrease in ourr pay." He declares. "I'm not grreedy, I just look forr vhat is fairr, in the same vay I vould rrefuse the full payment if the grrauladons ended up being some common lizarrds." He adds while looking at Dame Kyrie, anticipating she might judge him for his concerns. Amaya seems a little uncomfortable with this statement. "If the council is willing, I suppose it's okay, but I'll leave the discussion of such things up to you." Amaya's attention is easily diverted by Karana's happiness, smiling at the young elf's enthusiasm. "Hopefully, this can be the start of some new lessons and memories," she adds.
Thoughts on Amaya's new first level spell. Create Water certainly seems more in line with her build/theme, but would something more useful be better? Like Spirit Link, perhaps?
"She said 'We came up from our village below, and the dragons came from below that.' Gofran said they don't belong around here so where did they can from?" Bea tells Amaya. "Maybe there is some kind of portal down there?!?" her voice raises in a kind of eager excitement normally reserved for something like Ice Cream. Amaya listens intently to Beatrix's explanation of the exchange, her expression changing rapidly during each section. She lets out a startled gasp at the mention of dragons before remembering that she was referencing the ornery grauladons. "That is.... perhaps a little unnerving," she responds, but if there are monsters coming out of a portal, or what ever is going on, perhaps we should, umm... maybe see if we can stop it..?"[/b] Her tone of voice is uncertain. Everything is still all so new to her, but she seems to be just taking it all in stride.
"When they say, 'the dragons came from below', where do they mean Below?" Bea wonders as she always does "Does this place have a basement?" her curiosity peeked at what a hellknight basement might look like. "What?" Amaya asks, confused. "What did they say? What's going on?"
Glad that the battle is over, Amaya smiles when she sees that the goblins are safe. She keeps to herself, though, as the others speak with the goblins in their own tongue. At seeing her friend eyes start to tear up, Amaya moves to stand near Karana and places a hand on her shoulder for support, saying nothing.
Seeing that her friends are not in direct peril, and she is unable to see the beast from her position in the hallway, she bides her time, waiting for something to happen.
Frustrated with her previous efforts (even though she's still not entirely sure how she did it), instead, she focuses her energies on trying to protect her friends, instead. ◆◆ Forbidding Ward on Gofran
"Must not let my friends come to harm," Amaya says to herself, affirming her current goals and setting her mind to the task, no matter how difficult... or how scary. She pictures the creature being stopped in it's tracks, though is unsure of how to do such a thing. Her request is granted when an arc of lightning jumps from Amaya, through the bars of the gate to the dragon-creature. By reflex she also protects herself. ◆◆ Electric Arc
Amaya stands obediently behind the others where she can watch over her friends, but remain out of everyone's way.
Not entirely comfortable with the conversation, Amaya speaks up, "I can help to protect the little ones while you... take care of business, if you like. I can't do much, but I think I can keep the creature at bay, if it feels the need to get too close."
Amaya nods at the armiger with a small smile. "You are very welcome."
"Stagram...." Amaya muses out loud. "Alak, isn't that your family name? Do you know the writer?" She hands over the book, if he asks, having no reason to keep it from the man.
Amaya leans down to peer at the pup in Gofran's grasp, looking her intently in the eyes. "Perhaps she already did," she offers, then says "Arrr?" questioningly at the pup.
Amaya looks at Alak at the mention of killing the mother, but doesn't chastise him. She couldn't say that she wouldn't do the same thing, would that such a creature attacked her. Of course, she couldn't be certain that she would be as successful. "If the mother is dead, shouldn't there be a father somewhere? Doesn't look like they have eaten in some time. What are we to do with them?"
Amaya gets closer to Karana, hovering over her shoulder a liit, watching her play with the pups. Without interfering, she tries to see if she can judge the general health of the animals.
Amaya avoids the dead rats, and especially the corpse, though the smell alone is enough to keep her at bay. "Seems that this place hasn't been preserved any better than the rest of the keep." After a moment's thought, she turns to Alak and asks, "Why did your people abandon such an impressive structure?"
Amaya had never seen anything like the exchange going on between Karana and the dog-creature. She doesn't dare interrupt them, but watches (from a safe distance) and looks for an opportunity to help, if she can.
Amaya notices the look on Kyrie's face and watches her new companion with concern. She considers saying something, but Karana beats her to it, which is probably for the best. She was considering asking what was wrong. Instead, she nods in agreement with Karana and provides a warm smile to the warrior woman.
Amaya stays out of the conversation of killing. While she is more than willing to protect her life, and those around her, she is not in the habit of planning out such things in advance. Instead, she stands with Alak, looking at the portrait. She is not overly impressed by the image, but appreciates the armiger's familial ties. "Did you know much about him? Told any stories by your parents?"
Amaya is briefly amused by Beatrix's pantomime, until the loud clang of something hitting metal, which unconsciously causes a little yelp to escape her lips "Sorry," she calls out again, this time much softer.
Amaya is looking around the supposed courtroom, seeing if there is anything interesting, when she notices Karana and Beatrix huddling in the northern hallway. "Is there something interesting over there?!" she calls out to them.
