There is something I need to discuss. I will be needing to leave the game (I would say take an absence, but I do think that a 2 month break would be too much to ask especially from a fast-paced game such as this).
I have shared the following with my other groups (including my private group):
I do very much regret to pause in play. Things have been a bit unavoidable due to some personal family issues and (more important to the group) work-related issues.
Since teaching the classes last week, I have returned to a lab in disarray as records from certain staff have not been properly kept, mass disorganization, and the people responsible are ending the year on vacations. Not only am I now taking on yet more positions (thankfully only temporary), but one member of the staff is leaving to fill a vacancy in another department (after they return from vacation). AS the document control officer and technical manager, I will be filling vacancies (not by hiring, but by doing the work) as well as sorting out the mess of records and record-keeping that I thought I had fixed last year...
What this means, is that now semi-crises are hopefully over, I am taking the time to connect with you all. At least until vacations are over (there will be a break from vacations December 7-16th), I am not really sure if I can keep up with the game as I had in the past (if at all) until that break for a brief time and then again resume at the start of the year.
Because of this, I think it would be best for me to open up my place for someone more reliable and able to post more often than I was anyways. I really did enjoy the game when I was able to check in. I am really sorry that I will have to leave you guys.

Stuck teaching laboratory classes this week for licensing. Will be a slow week (at least Tuesday, Wednesday. and Thursday). Just giving a heads up so you don't think I abandon you guys.
(Found out this morning... -.-') Need to get some power points together.

Noticing Sorek's fists being somewhat ineffective against the stone, Almon decides against wasting more arrows. He moves forward and fires off a ray of magic.

Not wanting to waste his magic on the mangy, dog-like humanoids, Almon moves into the room drawing bow and arrow. He looses the arrow at the gnoll in the top right corner.
Actually, the regular paladin Aura of Justice is better. It gives the attack bonus and ability to by-pass DR whereas Oath of Vengeance only gives damage (IRC) at a lower cost.
Also, he wouldn't lose out on Channel energy as a back-up. The extra smites are great, but not 100% required.
I can't really say that I had a first DM... I guess my dad. He did only solo game of AD&D with me to teach me (I found his old books and wanted to learn @ age 7).
I taught my friends from there, but to make a long story short...
When I was the "first DM", I just summoned a swarm of meteors (Got the idea playing Fantasy Empires based off of D&D). Again, I was only 7, so I was not the greatest DM back then.
@Saladin/Gobin- I think the paladin is a good choice. Not sure what brvheart will say on WBL, but I am sure you can start working up the crunch.

"Sure, I'll look. I can honestly say I have been better. Those profane energies he evoked took a lot out of me," says Almon as he goes about trying to discern the magical objects.

Question: As I was behind the wall, he could not see that I pulled a wand at that time. I can understand that he can channel energy when he sees me walk up with wand in hand. Also, based on the door, only myself and possibly Sorek will need the saves because everyone else has total cover. Depending on when he channels, I might instead take my full move so that I can just use the wand immediately.

Sensing that things are going to go south, quickly, Almon retrieves his wand of colorspray so that he can get a feel for how difficult this crazed man will be.
He moves towards the door, but does not enter. "We should look to face him out here as we do not know what he might have in store for us in his 'home'," whispers Almon to the others.
Will ready to fire off the wand if the crazed man gets within 15 feet and line of effect/sight.

Well, The scroll kind of depends (mostly on GM). Some GMs wish to keep arcane and divine scrolls separate regardless of which lists the spell can appear on. So if it is divine, then I think Aggrammar or Lars will get the scroll in that case. As for the potion, Nuala can have it. She deals with more traps. I just well, am a little more forward than most squishy wizards.

"Appears that the statue no longer fulfills that wish. I do not wish to see what happens if the living request to be reawakened. Perhaps should one of us fall, we may test that wish as a last resort."

"Hmm... there appears to be magic left, but something feels different about this. I am not sure that we should be greedy with this magic. It asked if we wanted experience or reawakening. Perhaps it can grant each but only once. All that is left could be what it considers reawakening. If one must sleep before they can awake, then I fear, I must die, before they can be reborn. Or worse, it could awaken something dark and terrible within this dungeon."
Almon seems troubled by his musings of this riddle.
"Perhaps I could try. Maybe my concerns are unwarranted."
Almon walks closer to the statue. He turns to his comrades. Then, looking back at the statue, he says, "Experience."

"Looks like these should get us out of a couple of sticky situations. Or rather, create one if necessary," says Almon as he adds the scroll(s?) to his scroll case.

Haven't you learned by now, Almon is more of a badass with his rapier than with his spells. Or at least, that is what it has seemed like since the gnolls.

Almon side-steps to his right taking time to drop his bow and withdraw his rapier. He then creates a protective aura to protect himself and his companions.
Uses Protective Ward 2nd use for the day. +1 deflection bonus in 10' radius (I think just myself, Nuala, and Aggrammar right now). 5 rounds.
