Background:

Alhif was born the second son to a rising farmer and land owner near the grand city of Koln. Always showing an affinity for animals, he trained with animals hoping for employ with the army as a horse handler and trainer when his older brother inherited. But his brother fell through the ice on the Rhine one cold winter and was lost. Suddenly he was both the heir and, being able to ride and use a lance, the most able bodied son of the small group of land owners in his area of 3 manses. So off to the army he went, hoping to make a name for himself and his trusted mount, Gund. Unable to read, Alhif has never read the words of the bible but attends his little church where an ancient irish may preaches in both latin and his native german.

Personality:

Alhif is friendly and generous by nature, as his lord in heaven commands. While quite capable of fighting and ready to follow most orders he is not blood thirsty at all and would rather avoid a fight when possible. He would have a hard time standing by watching anyone be cruel to anyone or any animal and could most quickly loose his temper with wanton hurting of anything helpless. In his down moods he seeks the company of animals over people, but that never lasts too long. But he loves his horse and will sometimes talk to it like a person, even when others are around.

Description: Tall and lean, Alhif wears his father's mail shift and carries a shield and sword belonging to his mother's father. His hair is long and brown, and could often use a washing to get straw and the smell of horses out of it. His blue eyes are friendly except the few times he has lost his temper. His is often seen in the company of animals, especially his grey charger Gund.
