Sorry for my inactivity.

It was hard to find my groove again after having no income or so long and battling with Centrelink, debt collectors, and finding out that I'm on the spectrum from my psychiatrist and arranging a bunch of tests to figure out where it's affecting my life and how severely.

Plus side is my payments are back and I've come to an arrangement with my debt people!

Hope everyone has a great new year!

"As much as I would love to oblige, it's pointless when they are so spread out! They need to get closer to us and closer to each other because I am defiantly not getting closer to them."

Alexandra steps over the rocks and debris cautiously, pushing smaller objects out of her with her foot. Her expression is mostly blank, as she is with new people and using her years in court to not make her inner thoughts make themselves known by unregulated facial expressions.

Why can't any of these orbs be somewhere modern, or at least maintained? she thinks, as a trickle of loose rubble crumbles down the collapsed wall.

Like be in the possession of a wealthy collectior, or museum, or even as decoration in a statue? At least it's dry and doesn't smell...

"We are meant to be repairing this place? If that is the situation I feel we may have come grossly underprepared. What was this building used for in the first place? What happened to the monks? I thought that their whole thing was maintenance and praying?"

She carefully steps and hops her way through the rubble until she finds a piece of wall to sit on. She hoped that they would be sleeping somewhere more comfortable tonight.

Despite how unimpressed she was by the ruined monastery, her mind did wonder to what treasures mayb lie waiting inside.

Alexandra smiles before daintily accepting the hand shake.

"Pleasure is mine. Perhaps we should wait until morning to talk further. Something to spice up traveling with. Let's hope the rest of the night is less eventual than it has been thus far."

With a brief look around to acknowledge everyone, Alexandra retires into the ladies tent.

Mansion on a mountain? That does sound nice, but it wasn't a castle, so no real loss there. Maybe on the way back, if I don't get teleported elsewhere again.

She gives her dragon tattoo a brief glance before beginning her nightly routine; face wash, clean teeth, brush hair. She may be sleeping in a tent but she was going to bed a princess and waking up a princess, so that is how she would treat herself.

Alexandra looks up as the party returns from whatever they were doing. Some new faces, some old faces missing, and most of the group seemed to have small scratches here and there as well as various fine prickles attached stubbornly to armour, cloth, and skin alike.

"Well, well. Seems as though I missed out on an adventure. Have the brave heroes saved the kid from being killed by thieves? Excellent. Iraonar, Lysander, Amelia. I hope my absence hasn't been too much of concern for you."

She looks over at the new members of the party. By the way they carried themselves, they were at least of noble birth, but she wasn't sure how much they knew, thus her avoidance of using any titles when addressing her old companions.

"Alexandra, from the north. I traveled with this group for a time before our paths suddenly diverged from each other. I gather we shall be working together to whatever end we are currently working towards." she says with a soft smile.

While not ideal, this place was much better than the stench soaked ruins that they had previously been, and so she could better hide her brash personality.

"Speaking of our current goal, could anyone brief me on the events since my absence? I've only just gotten to the camp and know less about what is happening than I'd prefer."

The least that dragon could've done is fill me in. I hate being this uninformed... Oh no, my vocabulary is getting bigger. Damn Lysander and his high education babble.

"Well? What is it? Is it safe?"

Alexandra whispers, suppressing her enthusiasm. If this was the top of the tower, then their first task was almost over and she could hopefully leave and take a bath.

Maybe the Dragon would let her send a letter home that would give instructions on how to get to the tower and how she wants it cleaned and decorated.

Alexandra peers out from behind Daubeny, before looking back at him incredulously.

"What about me says giant frog handler? Amelia seems to get along with reptiles, maybe she'll have the same luck with frogs. You've all been doing fine so far, I'll save my magic for something slightly more dire, if that's all right. Like more than one enemy."

Is what she wanted to say, but they had an outsider with them, one she hadn't been around long enough to gauge.

"I must decline, Sir Daubeny. I have limited power and it is all I can do simply to armor myself from attacks. It doesn't appear hostile, perhaps if we simply give it some food it will allow us to pass? Otherwise, I am afraid I must rely on your skills in combat yet again.

I will use my magic when we face greater numbers, but for now let's see if we can make due without it."

She played it as neutral as possible.

"The only thing I could do would be to trick them into believing that I was sent by their God to guide them to something greater. That's assuming that they worship Nethys, and that I know whatever language they speak. I could use Message to tell them I'm coming, so long as they don't see me, to make it more dramatic.

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 11

Alexandra stands a little taller, basking in the small but appreciated effort the man makes to look proper while addressing her.

"We have also been sent here, though the name of your city would give us a better grasp of where.

I see no harm in freeing him."

She steps back to let Lysander continue to unbind him.

"We've been dispatching the troglodytes as we made our way through. Can you telling us about the tower? You can never have too much information."

Great how Alexandra is amazing at lying to people, isn't trained but still pretty good at telling the truth, but has no skill at all in being able to tell when she is being lied to or manipulated XD

"Slow down their, Lysander. We should ask him a few questions before we simply free him. He might be bound for a reason."

Alexandra almost croons her words, finally seeing a situation she was familiar with; human interaction.

She squats down next to Lysander, trying not to touch the ground.

"What is your name and how did you find yourself in such a precarious situation? Sorry to keep you tired up, but we must all show caution here, very few things are friendly here that we've met so far. "

"Those people are paid. I don't see the issue. What I did just see was a girl scold me for being immature and then spitefully choosing the opposite of what I requested. Not even because I'm being 'spoilt' but because I'm feeling physically sick, in case you hadn't noticed.

Hypocrisy looks good on you. Do keep it up. Compassion is so over-rated for a royal."

She gives a sinister smile, not that you could tell with the handkerchief covering half her face. She had always found a strange, twisted satisfaction in seeing those who claimed to be good do something cruel or wrong. It was amazing what people would do to those who challenged their beliefs.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

She looked suspiciously at the shot glass, not being able to tell what it was just by looking at it. However, seeing Iraonar down his, she saw no harm in trying to relax. Accepting the shot glass, she quickly uncovers her face, downs the contents, and covers her face again.

"Also, not to challenge your statement Prince Iraonar, but I highly doubt your court has actual Troglodytes, the smell alone would be unbearable. If what you say is true, however, perhaps you and I should take the alternative route and enable a more diplomatic approach to be made. If you are willing to bet our lives that these creatures can be reasoned with, then lead on.

Though if this treasure is as valuable as our Draconic friend seems to think, then they aren't going to be friendly for very long. Either way, I'm not going through that door." she says, motioning to the freshly slammed door.

Regardless, as soon as my armor wears off, I'm going outside. An hour in a place like this can't have good health ramifications, and I'm not wasting all of my best perfume with no one to appreciate it.

So if the DM could let me know when we've been in the tower for an hour so I can leave, that would be awesome.

"No, thank you for your concern. I could go on about why, but it won't do any good, will it?

This is the first task. The first of four. They'll probably get dirtier, and worse smelling, and darker, and wetter, so there's no point in complaining about how dark and wet and dirty this place is, nor how God awful it smells.

As for which door, please go through the one that smells the least. My senses need a break from the constant bombardment of the feral odors of these vermin.

What maniac builds a tower with no windows? Honestly. It's ice and snow in the North and we at least have vents!"

Alexandra sways a little as she walks further into the room. You can see something snap a little as het eyes flare up.

"Actually, no. I'm going to complain. This is ridiculous! My feet hurt, I smell , I've been attacked by giant spiders and horrible hairy primitive things that make me want to throw up. I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, my clothes are wet and muddy, my shoes are ruined!

I have no idea where I am, nor what I'm looking for, and I just want a nice warm anything ! A room that doesn't reak! Or a fire place! Or a God damn window!

You may say that I'm acting like a spoilt princess, but guess what?! I am a princess!

This is all rubbish and I want to go back to my nice warm luxurious room break everything in it, have a good cry, and go to bed. And when I wake up, everything would be clean and replaced. Like how it should be. Like how it's meant to be."

She was trying not to breathe to hard, not wanting to enhale more stench than she needed. Reaching into her bag, she pulls out a vial of perfume, and sprays a small amount on the handkerchief she has been covering her nose and mouth with. It smells of rose, frangipani and subtle undertones of incense and spice.

Alexandra calms herself for a few moments before looking back at the others.

"Would anyone else like to vent? Clear the air? All terms that are actually amusing given the circumstances."

With that she lets out a decent laugh. She was a survivor, but one of the courts, of espionage and backstabbing and of words and rumors.

This? This world she'd only heard of in novels. This was more down to earth than she had ever been and she loathed it with a passion.

Think of the warm springs of the Mother. Of essences of lavender and sandalwood. Silk. Oh is that for me? So kind of you. Yes, I do look lovely today. My stylist doesn't even need to do much.

Alexandra tries to ease her suffering with memories of grandeur and excess. When everything around her was made to her liking, specifically to her liking.

Now her coat was dirty, her shoes were dirty, god knows what would've happened to her hair and nails had she not been prepared.

Would this smell ever come out? Was she doomed to be an Old Maid, cast out because of the ever present smell of troglodyte and mold and whatever a derelict tower smelt of?

She regretted not having a spell to cleanse herself with. But she'd never cleaned herself. It's not something she generally had to be concerned with.

Think of gold. Dragon horde levels of gold. You could buy any army, allies, assassins, a gorgeous fur coat with matching hat and gloves. Think of the benefits. Think of Empress.

Seeming to be able to shake herself out of her disgust and into a somewhat determined mindset, she again casts a ray of frost at the troglodyte, swearing to learn more destructive spells in the future. This was almost embarrassing. Not nearly as embarrassing as being caught out with dirty attire, but still on the radar.

Attack Roll: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 - 2 = 16
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

She would claim this tower and cleanse the whole thing. Surely Nethys wouldn't mind a sorceress making this into a semi-vacation home, semi-lair? It'd be better than having troglodytes squatting in it.

Oh god. Squatting. Living creatures mean that there's going to be... Oh God, no!

The realisation that the muck on the floor was most likely troglodyte scat made her convulse again, and she wondered what she would need to offer Sir Daubeny to carry her through the rooms.

Fort: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

If she thought 2 were bad, 3 was somehow far, far worse. The stench hit her and she gagged, eyes watering. It made her physically ill, so strong as to be almost painful.

She rounded the corner regardless, staying as close to the wall, the door and Daubeny as possible. She knew that troglodytes smelt just as bad dead as they did alive thanks to their previous encounter, so there was no point avoiding it.

Through watery eyes she points at the one farthest away and attempts to send a ray of frost at it.

Alexandra finds the least rotted looking wooden bench, sits down crossing her legs in a way that somehow manages to be both patronising and elegant, and takes out her grooming kit.

Examining herself in the little mirror while the men argue about whatever it is they are debating, she takes out her matching hair brush and tidys her hair, before stowing them away and retrieving a nail file.

She was a sorceress, she could cast arcane magic, but she knew little about any Deities and the only one she really had that could be left here was Arcane Mark.

She doubted Nethys would appreciated arcane graffiti, no matter how important and powerful the person who left it was.

She gazed around in all directions, occasionally checking her manicure, before beginning work on the next nail. The delays didn't surprise her, the men in her court taught her that much already. Constant bickering and questioning, like a couple of babushka in the kitchen.

"If you are quite done gentlemen I can feel myself aging just sitting here. How about we get the job done and then discuss what to do on the way back down? Or on the way up. Whatever the case, this place smells and we have a very powerful undead dragon waiting for our return. Just food for thought."

If their abilities to think are still alive and haven't died of starvation.

She smiled at her own quip, returning her attention to the last few nails requiring her care.

"How about the tribute of not plundering the alters? We're royalty, not some tomb raiders or pillagers. And I don't think 2 scrolls and some silver is going to do much against the wrath of a God."

Alexandra wanders over to the walls and examines the etchings.

Alexandra places a comforting hand on Iraonar's should.

"Sweetie, if they didn't want people trampling all over the place then they'd live somewhere that wasn't a tumbled down old ruin full of rubble, vermin, and water damage. If we do run into anything sentient then we will of course pay for any damages.

Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, after all. As long as everyone feels good in the end, yes?"

This place better not be lived in. I definitely wouldn't mind paying to do the place up. Nice sized rooms, high ceilings, isolated, easily defended. I call dibs once we're finished.

Alexandra looks at Lysander, mildly insulted.

"You know that I have been lighting our way this entire time?" she gestures to the four floating balls of light that have been following them since they entered the tower.

"Not that I'll stop you from being the centre of attention if you wish. Go right ahead."

With that, she dismisses her dancing lanterns, sending much of the room into darkness lit only by Lysanders lantern. Alexandra may be an adult, but as a spoilt princess she is well known for slighting easily. So she is more than able to reduce her own vision in a pouting fit just to spite another.

In the darkness, no one can see you pout.

At Daubeny's comment Alexandra rubs the part of her body where she would've been hit had it been her in his place.

She had her magic armor, sure, but with each passing minute she grew closer to needing it replaced. Steel armor could last many battles, years under the right circumstances.

She had little over 4 hours.

4 hours until I am simply a Princess in over my head...

She shook her head, this wasn't how she had been raised to think! She was going to be Empress of the great northern expanses!

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

She had been too shaken by Daubeny's reality check to notice the airs that Iraonar was putting on, another testament to how out of her element she was. Nothing slipped by her in the halls of Dom Volkov.

But she wasn't in the House of Wolves, this was one of giant spiders and primitive creatures. One of destruction and disrepair.

She was trapped in the House of Dragons and these 4 people were the only thing between her and the abyss.

"Where to, Prince Lysander? We saw the staircase through the door down stairs. While I normally favor a methodic approach, so clearing each floor, we all saw the state of the lower level. It might be worth seeing if what we're looking for is in the sturdier floors before going down to the floor thats on the verge of collapse."

Go up and risk being attacked from behind. Go down and risk being trapped from above. Go up and risk the first floor bringing the tower down around us. Go down and risk the tower coming down on top of us. There are no good options here and each reason I come up with gets countered.

I hate this place.

That looks small and well made. I could bear being seen with something like that.

Alexandra pulls out a handkerchief embroider with her families sigil in one corner, using it to cover her nose and mouth.

Before entering the room, she thoroughly observes the floor for anything that looks like it could stain or stench her coat. Or shoes.

I need shoe coverings. Or a good pair of knee high boots.

She also scans the walls for anything useful, or expensive.

"That, or they are fleeing the man who just covered them in liquid fire and his well armored, very tall friend with the polearm."

Alexandra says casually, picking bits of dirty of her shoulders from another on of Lysander's tower shaking explosions.

"You've let off two bombs in the space of 10 minutes. Unless very dense I would've assumed this whole side of the tower would know someone was here. Though, looking at the state of the place, it wouldn't be surprising if explosions were a common occurrence."

Lavender. Lavender, myr, maybe some sandalwood? A lovely, steaming scented bath is the first thing I'll order when I get back. Fresh clothing, imported chocolates, then a salmon steak from the Frozen Sea. I heard at least 2 people die per salmon. And then my nice, warm bed... oh god where am I going to sleep! This place is filthy!

Alexandra wants to face palm, but it's beneath her station. Just when she thought they weren't so bad, this happens.

"They engaged us. You want to keep them alive, you're more than welcome to knock them out. I prefer Sir Daubeny's approach myself."

She caught a wiff of the room inside and almost gagged. Almost. Who knew life outside the palace would test her graces?

Well, have fun! I'd help but wouldn't you know it, I must've left my dagger in my other bag. If you are having trouble, call for me and I'll daze them a bit."

I am not going in that room. End of discussion. Mud I can get out but stench!? I'll begin to look like a bloody commoner!

If my writing style changes then let me know. I've been put on a trial of new meds and don't know how they'll affect my writing yet.

It's really interesting playing a character who really can't do much. Since she's totally out of her element, she seems to be forcing her element into the situation.

It may come across as babble or silly posting, but Alexandra is so used to either putting on airs or being the centre of attention that when she's neither she just thinks about herself and judges others XD

I have no idea the state of Amelia's hair. I'm sure she takes great care of it.

Alexandra puts the others between herself and the lizard while also heading over to the door. She keeps an eye out for eggs or other such garbage that animals tend to be protective of so she doesn't tread on any by accident.

She wondered what time it was. Her normal routine at night would be to bath, moisturize, and brush her hair 100 times. It was what all noble women were taught to do. Her brush and mirror were a matching set.

Anyone who broke her mirror would have much worse than 7 years bad luck, they'd owe Alexandra a new grooming kit.

She looked at Amelia's hair and grimaced. She would need more powerful tools.

Alexandra algo decided to take some time away from thoughts of personal grooming to survey the room better. She also once again dismissed and summoned her lights. She needed a longer light spell... Like light.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 5

She gazed around, apparently bored with the whole situation. She never really observed her surroundings before, they had just always been nice. High ceilings, stained glass, hand carved wooden doors and accents, paintings, tapestries, chandeliers. They were in every room. She guessed she had just stopped observing one day, since everyday was the same decor. At least to her.

Though even she could tell this place needed a lick of paint and some new furniture. New everything really.

She even began considering if this would work as a holiday home with the proper renovations.

Alexandra gave a small laugh at Iraonar's comment about Lysander's bombs. These people were vastly different to her, in personality and most probably in ethics, but they were entertaining and helpful to have around at the very least, and each was beginning to be seen in a better, less expendable light.

Even if she was for the time being a very good-looking, charming, intelligent, graceful, mysterious, *continues for a while*, magical lantern, she was beginning to see why each of them had been chosen. They made up for what lacked in the others.

She still wasn't going to share her hairbrush though.

Alexandra sighed in defeat. She would remember this for next time.

Awkwardly stepping over rubble, she tried not to step on her coat or winner gown.

At least the rope is silk. Hemp might have damaged my hands She thought begrudgedly, making her way up the pile of debris.

Alexandra watches the man in front of her begin a happy tune before he realises she isn't coming and changes his tune to a sadder note as he dejectedly climbs the rubble.

She crosses her arms impatiently.

"I'm going to need more than a serenade to make that climb. I appreciate the thought though, and your musical talent truly is beautiful. However my needs are physical, not artistic. I'm sure you understand."
