A scrolling news marquis shows up at the bottom of the turret targeting screen's AR display, promising a party should the user hit the next shot.

Alera's nav display shows the enemy pilots getting cheeky. Okay, I was trying to be nice! Everyone hang on! With an abrupt yank on the controls, the ship pulls really hard to port, the artificial gravity showing a small amount of lag in trying to ensure that the internal definition of 'down' remains constant regardless of the ship's maneuvering.

Pilot-Flyby on red: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Zeroing in on the red ship again, she does a cheeky bank as she zips by, giving the port weapons clear access to the hapless fighter Red ship While the starboard laser had a clear shot of its friend, and the turret and rear weapons can target either after the flyby.

Realized it would take more time than I have to fully describe the maneuver, so I explicitly laid it out on the map

Watching the two fighters feebly try to keep the ship surrounded, Alera decides to play along... and also to sing softly. Cuz I'm stuck in the middle with you...

Keeping up the act of piloting like a crazy person, the ship wobbles forward a bit. The crew of the blue ship might be wondering if she forgot how the throttle works...

The halfling guns the engines, and the fighter Xenal and Boaty have been firing at gets really big in the viewport, really fast.

Flyby stunt

At the last possible second she wrenches on the controls causing the ship to do a 180 around it's dorsal (ventral?) axis, almost near enough for the ships to touch undersides, and definitely close enough for the gunners to take their pick of which weapons get used to fire at which choice targets on the enemy vessel.

Also remember we ahve a Mk1 duo-node computer, so two rolls per turn could/should take a +1.

Port, starboard, and aft weapons have a range of 'short' (5 hexes).
turret and forward weapons, as well as our sensors, have a range of 'medium' (10 hexes)

Also the boon gives the party as a whole the chance to reroll ONE d20 roll during combat and this is on top of any rerolls we might get for other reasons... so we can choose who can use it, and when. If someone flubs something critical, perhaps?

Oooh, just like that game I played earlier. Alera banks to port, trying to make it look like she's avoiding a collision course, when in fact she's trying to line up potential shots with the turret and the forward arc weapons, while placing the lead ship within sensor range as well. An external observer might think she's either high or drunk with the way she's maneuvering, especially if they know that this crew was just hanging out with Envar Tamm.

Alera's satisfied waiting in the background while the rest of the group loots the spoils of Envar's generosity, relaxing on the telescope while the team catches their breath.

The trip up the elevator sees her quiet, as she stays more alert, just in case envar's silliness causes the team even more problems. She's starting to get annoyed with envar, and it's only through staying quiet that she feels she won't blow the team's cover... at least so long as she has enough time to count to ten in the various languages she knows.

Alera's chagrin at her second round essentially skipping off the surface of the elemental's... skin? containment field? is obvious in her snarky reaction to Max's encouragement, trying to bury her nerves under a heaping pile of sarcasm.

This isn't as easy as flying a ship you know!

The diminutive sniper's satisfaction at her last shot is tempered by the fact that her teammate took a flaming hit seemingly meant for her. Practiced hands eject the casing of the previous round and immediately slot another bullet into place before lining up another shot.

It takes more than a little self-control for the halfling to not slap her palm to her forehead at Envar's continued drug-fueled bumbling, instead mumbling to herself in the Ysoki tongue, Gotta keep up the act... not much longer, just keep up the act.

She sidesteps over to the telescope and hauls herself on top of it for a clear shot that won't punch through the station exterior if she misses...

A snap of the fingers on her left hand would cause a bit of Deja Vu, if anyone were looking at her instead of the two ambulatory fireballs in the room, as her shirren-rifle stops being on her back and starts being in her hands, ready to be fired at the monster on the left.

Finger snap is triggering the 'called' fusion on the shirren-eye rifle - a swift action.

The halfling walks right past the android Maitre'd and sits next to Envar, scrambling onto a chair made for humanoids twice her size. She seems... disappointed.

Fancy food and booze? Alera sucks at her teeth. We could have done this back home. I thought you said we were gonna do something fun.

The way she emphasizes the last word hopefully conveys that she doesn't necessarily equate "fun" with "proper" or even "legal".

The size of the beast would intimidate some, but to Alera it's little more than an easy target. She pivots as it runs past her, trying to keep the sights trained on it's head before pulling the trigger.

She can't help but get excited as the crowd begins to chant and roar. As she enters the arena she cuts to the right and breaks into a run. A snap of her fingers moves one of her rifles off her back and into her hands, and deft fingers move the grappler launcher from its mount hook under the barrel into the barrel itself. She sights the rifle's scope on the top of one of the pillars nearer to the beast, and fires.

Grapple-hook Fired from Shirren Eye Rifle: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Range increment 35 feet after grapple penalty. Target AC 5

Hook secured, she keeps running with a grip on the rope and lets physics do the rest as she pulls herself up off the ground, the cable wrapping around the pillar like a tether, easing her ascent to the high-ground.

Pump Up the Crowd! Check: 1d20 ⇒ 20

I know multiple athletics checks are required for alera to climb to the top, since she can only climb 10ft/move, but a take 10 succeeds against the relevant DCs (10 for knotted rope without wall support, 5 for knotted rope WITH wall support after it's done wrapping the pole), so I'm not sure which is more applicable for her crowd motivator role given how I described it.
Acrobatics Bonus is 15, Athletics is 11

Once atop the pillar, she stands up and flourishes to the crowd, giving an exaggerated bow to each direction in turn. Afterwards she mumbles into her comm device, paging the others and making sure to think the words as well as speak them for any listening telepaths in the party. You know, I thought it would look less creepy from up here but those extra limbs on top aren't doing it any favors. Don't worry though, I've got your backs.

Oh, also Alera has a +14 piloting skill (thanks Ace-Pilot Theme!) So... piloting is handled?

2 ranks and +4 dex means she could be a gunner in a pinch too...

ALSO, because I know it doesn't come up very much. The sunrise maiden's artifiial personality can roll skill checks! Specifically Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, and Sense Motive, all with a +1 modifier (tier of the computer, I think). I'm thinking the AI could aid in certain skill rolls. Or at least just get along with Max and Hido very well.

Well lucky for the lot of you I have a really cool ship that can take us there, and I happen to be a pretty good pilot.

Alera taps a few points on the AR display from her personal comm to give the docking port information of the Sunrise Maiden to the team to meet up at for departure.

You probably wouldn't blame someone for thinking twice, or even three times about stepping aboard the ship. Time has obviously not been kind to it, even with the repair jobs.

On boarding, a virtual personality with a halting auto-tuned voice cordially greets each member of the team. Imagine if the VI from the Mass Effect Citadel had GlaDOS' voice.

Alera speaks from the bridge, just up and to the left of the airlock Welcome aboard! Storage is right in front of you, crew quarters are on your right, blah blah blah. Lets have some FUN!

Hmm. New identities eh? I might be able to swing something like that...

Alera has dabbled in hacking from time to time, and with a nice leisurely drift jump's worth of time, she takes things nice and slow.

Alera, rifles strapped over her shoulder, saunters up to the checkpoint with the rude lashunta and stops, , , looking up at her face with the same kind of expression one might use after having stepped in something and chewing some gum as obnoxiously as she can. The name's Dax. I was given to understand that there might be something or someone on this station that could actually pose a challenge for me, so I decided to come see for myself. Alera blows a bubble and pops it.

Alera's staring is because she's trying to get a read on the Lashunta, but doesn't speak her language.

A very small humanoid walks close enough to the doorway to the Cortex for the sensors to recognize her presence and open the door, but pointedly does not walk through. Instead checking her personal comm's AR display as if waiting for something. A small beep sounds as the time readout shows 1300 station time and zero seconds... one... two...
she makes a point of crossing the threshold at the twelve second mark.

She's an odd sight to behold... no larger than most humanoid children, two rifles as long than she is tall slung over her shoulders, and why did she dye her armor orange of all things?
