While Dax sits and starts the game Hido observes with attention. Not a pilot and certainly not a gamer, he did know computers and quickly patterned how the game processed data and advises Dax on a couple tricks she could use to game the system.

If piloting or gunnery is required, alera's happy to help.
"Farley's Crossing! I playing a gazillion hours of this when I was a kid." Her brow furrows. "I never did beat the campaign, though. Pretty sure I only played it on easy, even. It's super-tactical and you need some great twitch-reactions for the space-combat stuff."
The halfling kicks off her stool so hard it falls over with a clang as she rushes over to the game station, her disappointment in Envar not 'holding' forgotten with the chance for some excitement. "Oooh! I've never tried flying multiple ships at once before. She looks up at her party with child-like glee. Mind if I give it a shot?
Not really waiting to see if anyone objects, she hops into the seat and takes the controls, following the prompts required to start the match and placing her hands on the controls.
Huh, not that different from a fighter I once sto... er... borrowed.

Round 3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Round 4: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Each of the players takes their side of the table. The system randomizes sides wih Alera taking on the role of the familiar Pact Worlds fighters, Razor is happy herself to take on the threatening swarm. "Those Pact World ships are far too clean and boring. They suit you just fine though."
Simulation Start
4 - 4
Pact Action
The game assigns Alera gets first turn and she is able to set up a strong offensive line.
On the other side of the able Razor is having a far more difficult time doing her set up with Xenal looming. The other vesk are prepared for a fight, but don't push back of their own initiative. "You know, if you want spend your time looming behind me, I'll be happy to give you a job cutie." Even as Razor says that the pressure clearly has an impact as she makes a poor placement for one of her units.
Alera is able to easily dispatch it on the first turn giving her the early lead.
4 - 3
Swarm Action
Giving a quick curse Razor double down on her gameplay, putting the vesk out of her mind. She is able to mount a powerful counter attack to surround the Pact fleet.
Peering behind Alera, Envar offers his own commentary, "Darkible! The swarm are attacking! Come on little ships!"
Thankfully Hido's analysis barely preempted this reprisal, giving critical percentage points that leaves the Pact World ships damaged, but able to repel and destroy much more of the Swarm attackers.
4 - 2
Pact Action
Even with most of Razor's ships taking the brunt of the damage in the battle, their remaining position is dominating and almost demand Alera take some losses to regroup. With some carefully crafted atypical formations though, the ace pilot is able to keep on a constant barrage of pressure.
4 - 1
Swarm Action
Razor mutters as she plans out a final attempt to make a comeback during the match. "I'm glad I didn't put real money down on this. Didn't realize you had a shark on your side."
Anyone can make a final checks to resolve the battle.

Razor mutters as she plans out a final attempt to make a comeback during the match. "I'm glad I didn't put real money down on this. Didn't realize you had a shark on your side."
The glow of the holograms casts splashes of color over her face, her eyes focused in unblinking concentration as she rapidly changes between ships, setting each on its course to hunt down the last vestiges of Razor's swarm units.
Piloting check: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Just think of it like this. Either challenge you'd have picked would have ended up the same. This one's just less... She pauses her words and physically leans to the side as if that could cajole one of her fighters to bank that much harder. ...corpsey for your friends back there.

Max looks over Alera's shoulder and furrows his brow. He mutters to her softly, but clearly loud enough for Razor to hear, "Alera... why are you hiding your troops in that quadrant... if Razor so much as sent in one squadron that way it would end in disaster!"
Everything he says is of course is utter nonsense.
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
GM Blazej
Razor responds a bit confused about Alera's comment. "Corpses? What the are you ... oh of course. Should have expected as much from arena fighters. No, I'm not going to burn out my two new hires on a random fight to the death. And if they managed to die from an arm wrestling contest, I'm not going to shed tears for either of them."
She takes her maneuver and while she doesn't completely buy Max's suggestion, she takes the risk for the chance at the high reward she needs. In the aftermath of the skirmish the Pact World ships are battered but the Swarm are left lifeless and in ruin.
A cheerful song plays over the consoles as it displays the Pact Worlds victory. Envar matches that by declaring their victory to the entire bar as well as the local infosphere.
Razor throws her arms up in concession. "You got me, kid. I'll give Envar another week to settle up on the debt."
Boaty
|
Watches the game with excitement. Even before she could step in she finds that Alera has already won. In the excitement she yells, "Go Alera! You totally did it!"[/b] she is surprised at how into it she is.
She turns to Envar and says, "well now that we did it, you owe us Envar." she says half teasing. "We good friends now?"
She gets serious for a moment. "Does your mom know about your debt? I mean that's pretty serious. If it were me, I'd totally transfer funds over if I could. You can't live off of a tab forever and you still need to have fun."
Yesterday was a little hectic. Didn't get around to posting much.
GM Blazej
"Aw yeah! You guys are great friends!"
Envar has to think for a few moments on the question of his mother before answering, "I dunno. She hassles me some but she knows I'm all responsible. You don't need to cover for me, I got plenty of creds to keep the tabs empty and the bars stocked. I just couldn't pay this for ... some reason."
After a few more drawn out moments he taps into his comm again before a voice answers, "Yes, Mr. Tamm?"
"Yeah, like where are my creds?"
"Your ... budget? Your budget was expended this month in the renovation of the station auditorium into a gladiatorial arena."
The realization hits Envar as he nods to everyone as though this explained everything. "Ah riiiight. That place is pretty stellar now, right?"
"Yes, sir."
Turning to Boaty he confides, "I'll start settling this right now. Don't need you worry about me when I have barely showed you anything!"
He continues on the comm to get some funds set aside with little difficulty.
Razor shrugs and has no intention of watching him work it out. Before she leaves she tosses a small package to Alera before heading out.
Envar returns to you once he has the debt sufficiently settled for the immediate future. "Sorry about the all the hassle guys. I didn't realize not paying would cause a Swarm attack. I'll keep working that out, but I still need to finish your tour! Anywhere you want to head to next?"
GM Blazej
"I dunno... maybe? It would be a low point of the tour as she ain't very accommodating. Her office, yeah, but her, not so much." Envar certainly isn't enthusiastic about the idea as he sobers up a tad just thinking about his Ilia.
"You might think a fun guy like me would have a fun mom, but nooooo~. Where I have a perfect balance of workitude and excitement, she just only does work. She is always in her office doing something or another to make sure everyone on station is doing their job. Except for a couple hours of cryosleep. You see? She even takes the fun out of snoozing!"

When he goes to settle his funds she has moongose dog keep tabs on him. He follows behind him and sees if he notices anything unusual from Envar.
When he returns she says, "Well what would you suggest we do Envar? I don't know this place. So far this has been fun. Let's see more. "
let me know if I need to make any checks. Just to clarify Moongose dog is seeing if he has a password or any other clues to his account.
GM Blazej
"Yeah, right. I'm thinking that this place is a bit too high strung right now. You do amazing work, but you all deserve some chill time. I think I have a place in mind that fits that bill."
He leads the group back to the elevator where Ilia Tamm's voice announces the levels as you head back up past through the levels of the station.
"This place has the best views of the sun out of anywhere. Best part is that we should have the place all to ourselves. It makes it harder with people always being there, but I go there a lot to look at the stars and think about all the things, you know? Life, the stars, our, like, place in the universe."
Eventually the elevator passes the auditorium and goes one level above to the top of Brilliance where Ilia's voice declares, "Solar Observatory."
The elevator doors slide open to reveal a chamber with golden-hued metal floor and walls. Plasma screens on the opposite wall stretch from floor to ceiling and display crisp, breathtaking images of space. A fluorescent mural on the floor depicts the stages of a solar eclipse. Envar steps over those depictions and comes within arms distance of the screens. So close to the visuals, he murmurs, "I can see, like, the whole universe from here."
Two silver doors to the left and right lead farther into the observatory.

Hido let's put a low whistle as he steps forward and watches the screens. Taken aback by the beauty he forgets to speak audibly, instead projecting telepathically to the room.
Truly a beautiful sight. You are right, it is like the whole universe lay before us
GM Blazej
Envar wakes up from his fugue. "Oh yeah. I think about my life and how it fits into, you know, everything. Makes me realize, you know, how small we all are in it all. That is why I try to shine as bright as a star man. Want to make my impact in the biggest stage."
Making his way over to one of the doors Envar adds, "But this is only part uno of this place. Let me show you all the techy stuff they scientists work on."
He moves over to the door; opening it using his keycard and a quick retinal scan. On the other side the sun blazes above the transparent, domed ceiling of this gold metal room.
An enormous gray-and-silver telescope is mounted near the western wall and points up toward the ceiling. A half-circle desk and associated chairs rest near the northwestern wall. A dark-silver control station in front of the northern wall houses twin computer terminals. A set of silver shelves juts out from the northeastern wall, displaying various scientific instruments and tools.
"What do you think? They have the best toys up here."

" can I?".
GM Blazej
Envar nods his head granting permission to Boaty, but as he brushes past the telescope to follow, a holo-projection of Ilia Tamm appears near the telescope announcing, "Guest safety is important to Arch Energy. Only authorized personnel may enter this restricted area."
Envar saunters over the the control panel next to Boaty. Waving to both the party and his mother that this is all fine. He drops into the one of the hovering chairs near the console, spinning around in a few circles. ”Mother,” states your companion toward the projection of Ilia, ”You never let anyone else play with the cool games. Why did you even pay for those music lessons? Let me show you what I have learned!” Envar runs his hand across the buttons of the console to a symphony of electronic acknowledgements followed by a loud droning sound filling the room and the ground vibrates beneath your feet. From above the light from the sun shines brighter as a shield lowers. A pair of feral, raging elemental beings formed from solar energy coalesce before the console to Envar’s confusion. ”Uh, hey. Only authorized people are allowed here.”
The only response is roaring fire.

It takes more than a little self-control for the halfling to not slap her palm to her forehead at Envar's continued drug-fueled bumbling, instead mumbling to herself in the Ysoki tongue, Gotta keep up the act... not much longer, just keep up the act.
She sidesteps over to the telescope and hauls herself on top of it for a clear shot that won't punch through the station exterior if she misses...

A snap of the fingers on her left hand would cause a bit of Deja Vu, if anyone were looking at her instead of the two ambulatory fireballs in the room, as her shirren-rifle stops being on her back and starts being in her hands, ready to be fired at the monster on the left.
Finger snap is triggering the 'called' fusion on the shirren-eye rifle - a swift action.

Your armor offers you protection against this, but it will deal a minor amount of damage (2) on a failed saving throw (DC 11, medium radiation+poison, +4 to save if you are wearing armor). Hey GM, it looks like there's a pair of double-doors behind Cournae. If possible, she'll attempt to open the doors, take a guarded step through them, and then close the doors.

Charging actually gives you a minus two to attacks in Starfinder! (Without assorted special abilities)
Xenal backs Hido's assault, continuing to put pressure on the elemental for her ranged allies. With Coordinated Assault.

He might be Get 'em'd. I'm not marked as able to act, which may just be an oversight. If I do act, that's my first action.

Hido: Correct, the only advantage charging gives by default is the ability to make an melee attack at the end of a double move.
The double doors quickly offer Cournae a quick escape into another elevator. After attempting a few other buttons, an emergency button shuts the doors immediately.
The elemental is far too busy to stop this as Hido's blade cuts through it leaving it's flames wavering as it builds up again for another strike. It barely is able to dodge a lethal blow from Xenal as more weapons fire falls upon it.

"My skin!", Envar cries, finally responding to Cournae. As he realizes the elemental went for Cournae, he adds "Wait! Your skin! Don't worry, I think ... I have ... something ... YEAH!"
Envar withdraws a package of sunscreen from a pocket and throws it at the elemental, but utterly misses, letting the cream skid ineffectively across the floor.

Boaty's attack is enough to bring down the rampaging elemental to much congratulations from your guide.
"Steller! Just steller! You took care of those overblown fireworks like they were nothing!" He runs around the room trying to get a good shot, after a moment he realizes someone is missing. He bounds back to open the elevator before bounding back to the corner to snap a few pictures of the party in the moment of glory.
After another moment that glory is posted to the infosphere. After the realization hits Envar as to the current situation he says to the party, "Uh yeah. We probably shouldn't hang out here too much longer. The scientists are big singularities and very touchy about their systems they have here."
"You guys deserve more rewards. I'm still a bit short on creds though, so feel free though to check out the shelves and lockers around here to get some luminous SWAG." He uses his card and actives the eye scanner to open up into the last room of the deck, another room with gold metal flooring. Metal shelving covers the perimeter and four mounted telescopes fill the center of the room.
The lockers in the room are locked.
Inside the room you fought the elementals in are various easily identifiable items. Among the shelving is an armorcrafter engineering specialty tool kit, a fire extinguisher, a pair of high-capacity batteries, and a pair basic medkits.

Max shrugs. "I will take a peek around for some... swag."
He takes a quick look at the lockers, then punches in the default admin code. He looks over the hideaway limb contemplatively. "This would be useful, however installation will have to wait until later."
Looking over the rest of the equipment in the lockers he nods. "The rest will certainly prove useful more immediately. Especially if Master Envar elects for another performance in the near future."
He tosses the sprayflesh to Xenal and Cournae. "Let's get you patched up and see if we can make use of that later. For now, anyone got a slot left for this?" He holds up the radiation buffer upgrade. "If nobody else does I'll take it. Long as our friend here is being generous and all."
