Mmm... I'm not familiar at all with this AP so I may be a good guinea pig xD

Hey there, just wanted to wish good luck to everyone n.n

I've already most of my build finished on paper, will put it on an alias soon as well as a header.

Basically I'll use s small arm with the new double tap feat, take Cache hack devastator's list to have unlimited supercharge weapon and get into powered armor at level 7, at that point I may as well start to use Junksword to deal with melee.

I'm also taking ranks on piloting at every level so I may be either the gunner or pilot if needed but I may fill any starship role easily.

Alright, here is my technomancer, I think I'll take the Cache hack alternate feature but still not sure if going the Junksword path or use a longarm x.x

Alkaid Trez Submission:

Name: Alkaid Trez.

Race: Asanan Elf (COM pg.31)

Class: Technomacer.

Gender and Pronouns: Female, She/Her.

General Backstory: Alkaid is a young -by elven standards- Elf woman who was raised by a Lashunta couple on Castrovel, specifically on Quabarat, she always had knack for magic and it was no surprise when she choose to study technomancy, as an Elf, times passes rather fast for her, she was always in a rush to keep the pace with Lashuntas and other short lived races who in few years became fully realized adults and professionals, despite the fact that she has way more time than them to accomplish those things.
Following the path of the Damaya she keeps studying after learning the basis of technomancy and after that she focused on studying ancient or exotic alien technologies, however like all Elves that lives among other races she eventually becames a forlorn, her adoptive parents died of age and she fell in a deep depression, thanksfully she wasn't the only forlorn and after some moths of mourning she seeks help and advise from other Elves who has going through similar experiences and eventually gets back to her studies.
It was then that she was invited to an expedition on near space to explore some ancient cities and it's hidden technology caches, she hesitates a little but at the end accepts the offer believing that some field work may cheer her and so she left the Pact Worlds' system.
That was four years ago and now she must return to the Pact Worlds in order to bring the expedition's findings to the Quabarat University but truth be told the young Elf has grown fond of exploring and adventuring and is currently considering to join the Starfinder Society, now in order to return she and some colleagues are taking The Chimera... If just they knew...

Personality: Alkaid is usually an outgoing and reckless girl, she's pretty devoted to her work and is at home on any lab or technological workshop, she's quite the brain and loves technology with an almost religious zeal, from computers to mechanical and even ancient clockwork devices, she's however not a weak willed person and may lose her temper easily if someome makes fun of her for any reason.
She's not shy or a social butterfly but deeply treasures the relationships she has with others and never ignores her friends, she knows that most of them will pass away centuries before her and as such they deserve all of her attention, that being said, despite her good intentions she's quite awkard in social situations due to her overall nerdyness.
She firmly believes that both magic and sciences are meant to be mastered and if given the chance she'll always prefer a magical or technologically advanced solution to a mundane one, she is also considering to get some augmentations.
Like everyone, Alkaid is hardly perfect as she tends to get either childish or whimsical for time to time and is usually stubborn about the decisions she takes even if these lack logic.
While she is a good person at heart, her morality is pretty flexible and don't mind some trickery, mischief or underhanded tactics as long as her actions are for the sake of a greater good or don't hurt any innocent in the process, she doesn't really care about some rich corporations losing a few credits but will never hurt anyone without a good reason, self defense is acceptable.

Flaw(s): She's rather impulsive and reckless, she can also act childish or whimsical at times, Alkaid also lacks social grace and better stays quiet on a Gala or similar situation.

Quirk(s): She considers herself a Lashunta despite obviusly being an Elf and even identifies herself as a Damaya one, she founds the insectile appearence of the Shirrens somewhat unsettling, she doesn't hate them or anything but can't help feeling a little scared of them, the same is true for Haans, Formians, the Swarm and other insect like races.

Background: Intellectual, She is a Xenoarchaeologist.

Since @Vrog already submitted a mystic I'll instead apply with a technomancer n.n
A junksword build May be interesting o.o

Hey there, sorry if I disappear, my internet has been moody these days x.x

Hey there! I'd love to play some starfinder so I'm dotting in, will submit a Mystic with the new melophile connection, maybe with a solar weapon epiphany n.n

I'd love to play some starfinder but book 5 looks somewhat late x.x

In any case, I may put together a mystic, they got quite a few new options on COM, I'm specifically looking at solar connection to have a solarian weapon n.n

I see, I didn't knew that you can do that with non psf registered characters, will do it and return n.n

Sorry but by a profile you mean another account or register a character for organized play or... Something else? x.x

Bye St John u.u

Welcome Agutsu n.n

You've been quite helpful n.n

And look into Intimidation, being as you get the skill and have the Charisma. Demoralize is a simple debuff for a spare action, sometimes before casting so they have a lower saving throw/AC (which makes it a great setup for Ray of Enfeeblement which goes against both). You will have many useful combinations each round.

Yeah, Intimidation will be my main skill and the one that is boosted first, undead/necromancers are mean to be scary xD

Besides that, diplomacy and deception to be an okay face, I don't plan to invest heavily into others skills but will eventually pick clever improvisation so I can be a passable backup n.n

Alright, I think I'll be just fine spamming ray of frost (from my elf ancestry) and electric arc as my at will source of damage, heal as a signature spell, ray of enfeeblement and bless to buff/debuff and I also has Harm.

I'm however intrigued by how shields and the shield spell works... Should I use the shield cantrip? If so, do I need to pick shield block to make it worth?

Hello, I'm here n.n

I'll take a Look at the slides before doing anything else.

I see, that sounds good, I don't mind healing, debuffing and suddenly blasting once in a while xD

There isn't a way to get Ray of frost early on? It looks kinda strong and goes well with the undead flavor.

Wow, I usually pick x skill and put a rank on it at every level x.x

Hey there I Just get into 2e and am still learning it's finer datails, I Will soon play for the first time and fell in love with the idea of a half elf undead sorcerer, a friend of mine told me that it can be a good blaster, I like blasting but I prefer to be a generalist and do some necromancy as the flavor demands.

Any words of wisdom or experience with this class?

I need help/guidance creating a PbP character. If character creation will be covered in a different thread, just let me know. I don't have a computer or herolab. I hope I can just use my smartphone.

You can download pathbuilder 2e, it helps a lot, it only has core options but it's not like if we already have a ton of splats n.n

That'll be handy n.n

I can help with diplomacy and intimidate, besides that... I pick know. History for the ruins and those stuff, religion for flavor and perception just in case, the more eyes the party has, the better, my main draw however are the spells, guidance looks like a nice buff for skill checks and my level 1 spells are bless and shield of faith, both are buff and I plan to make AoO my main source of damage with my glaive.

Thanks for the imput guys, I think I'll go half elf now n.n

Hey there! Thanks for allowing me to play here, I'm kind of a novice but I will do my best to help in battle n.n

Wow! I got chosen and haven't finished my backstory x.x

Hello! I'm new to pbp and has been playing 1e for almost half a year, I'm also new to 2e but I'd love to learn n.n

Makes sense x.x it would be too good of they stack

That's a cool idea, never considered that trait but I plan to pick a masterwork buckler at level 3 or so, do the shield bonuses stack?

Hey there! I was making an investigator build for no special reason and was wondering how good can it be from level 1 to 3 or just level 1 since he won't get studied combat until level 4 and mutagen until 2 (if I don't take another talent)

So far he is an human, with 14 str, 14 dex, 12 con, 18 int, 10 wis and 8 cha, his feats are fast learner and medium armor proficincy, the idea is get as many skills as possible since he will be the skill monkey of the party, fast learner gives me both 1hp and a skill rank per level from the favored class, it looks like a nice deal to me and medium armor gives him decent AC and lets me forget about dex, the point is that he can survive at melee, be the most freaking skill monkey and be capable of help in battle if just a little.

He is also an empiricist and will become quite sad from level 2, one of his traits is student of philosophy so he can be the face too the other trait is left blank in case the GM ask for a campaing trait or so, the weapon of choice is sword cane for flavor even if rapier is a better option and after he gets both mutagen and studied combat he'll be just fine in combat, I'm just worried for his first level.

So any suggestion? Are the feats okay or I should pick something else like toughness?

Hey there! I'm a newbie here to pbp and am not familiar with this ap but... I'd like to give it a try, don't really understand the alias stuffs and as for character concept I have a few ideas, I prefer to play the skill role so maybe an unchained rogue with the rake archetype, most likely half elf.

Darius Corbeanu wrote:

Be aware that the version of the traits to use is from the blog, linked in the GMs first post. Lost Love (Lover) should get you +1 Intimidate and having it as a class skill.

Oh! Thanks for pointing it out! I downloaded the player guide and didn't read the traits on the link x.x

Alright, I think I'll go with the template/stat block as it is easier to read IMO, I already finished the crunch and numbers, only backstory is pending, I'm gonna take the lost love (lover) trait as it looks as the most appealing hook to me and +2 intimidate is handy for my build (blade of mercy + enforcer + dervish dance)

Thanks for the imput! I'm currently using the pathbuilder app on my phone so I can make a stat block quickly but I think I should wait for the GM opinion.

Hi, I'm interested. I have an investigator in mind (with a private investigator vibe).
However, I must ask the GM for some house ruling. Would you accept the feat Fencing Grace to be used with the sword cane? The feat specifically says it's for rapier only, but given the sword cane is just the same concept as the rapier only with worse stats, would you consider having the feat affect it as well?

You can use Slashing grace instead, it works for any slashing weapon if I remember correctly

Hey guys, sorry to bother with a silly question but... Do we use mythweavers, make stat blocks or use something else to make/post the sheet?

After thinking about it I think I got a concept build around a bard worshipper of serenrae, race will ne half elf.

I have no experience or familiarity with the AP but I hope that a diplomacy build is aceptable, after all serenrae teachings has a focus on redemption and goodness.

Hey there! I'm new to play by post on these forums but I want to give it a try, so I'm posting my interest n.n

I'd like to play a bard, maybe a dervish of the dawn to go full melee.

I'll most likely play either an operative or a mystic, not sure about the race yet, will re-read the aliem archives to get some ideas.

Posting interest, I haven't read the new book but has all others.

What races are allowed? There's a ton of playable races o.o

Mmm... I didn't considered martial performance since arcane duelist looks amazing.

Based on your recommendations I think that becoming DEX sad isn't that important as I believed but I feel like it is still pretty flavorful and thematic.

So I had this idea Inspired blade Swashbuckler 1 or 3 and then Arcane duelist Bard.

The idea is taking dex to damage with fencing grace at level 1 and then become a gish arcane duelist bard, the problem is that I'm unsure if I should take 1 or 3 levels of Inspired blade, a single level gives dex to damage and a few deed to play around but by taking 3 levels I get Swash Initiative, precise strike, nimble +1 AND menacing swordplay.
+3 to damage is okay but Intimidate as a swift action is worth building around, with a cruel weapon I can seriously debuff with little to no effort but doing so hinders my bard spells and clash with arcane duelist Arcane strike, so is worth taking 3 levels and take a different bard archetype?

Before you mention it I'm avoiding dawnflower dervish because I want my inspire courage to work on my whole party, neither I'm considering any archetype that trades Inspire courage.

Any suggestion?

I considered cryptbreaker but empiricist investigator is overally better at skills for the sadness and I personally prefer the archeologist flavor.

And yeah, I miss inspire courage x.x

So hey everyone! I'll be playing/running the carrion Hill module this weekend and would like your opinion about the two tentative builds I've so far.

Firstly lets get some context regarding the rules and stuffs, we'll use 20 point build and two traits, only core and featured races are avalible, starting level is 5 and as I understood we won't level up soon, we also get average wealth, 10500 gp if I remember correctly to spend in whatever we want, samurai, ninja, anti-paladin and gunslinger -with the exception of crossbow ace- aren't usable, neither we're looking with kind eyes at any build that focused at summoning, having 1d4+1 or more monsters running around the battlefield tends to slow our games, lastly both rogue and monk are unchained, barbarian is optional.
All Paizo published material is accepted.

So... My two possible build, both are generalist skill monkey gishes.

A- Half-elf Archeologist Bard, this guy isn't the best at dealing damage but the luck bonus to saves and his bonus to skills are great, with five levels I got 3 feats to work with as well as skill focus, feats are: SF perception, W. finesse, W. focus: Rapier, level 4 rogue talent combat trick: Fencing Grace and toughness.
The biggest draw of the build is take fate's favored trait to boost your luck, overall it has nice saves, ok damage output and is amazing at perception and knowledge skills.

B- Tiefling Empiricist Investigator, This one doesn't get as many bonuses as the bard but is even more sad when it comes to skills, he uses STR rather than DEX and all of his feats are devoted to improve his combat prowess, combar reflexes, power attack and furious focus, allows him to power attack at no penalty and move around at reach using a two handed weapon, throw in a few AoO per round and a long lasting buff like mutagen or a enlarge person/longarm and he's a beast.

IMO The bard has a better form of spells since he doesn't need to take infusion to buff the party but the investigator has mutagen and studied combat which makes him much batter at fighting and skill wise both do a nice job as the skill monkey, HP are about the same if you don't put toughness in the equation and I think that the bard wins in AC due to his higher DEX but then again mutagen also boost AC...

And that's about it, any suggestion or ideas? which one do you think is better for this module and in a generalist way, like for PFS in which you must be ready to handle as many roles as possible?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm well aware of feral mutagen alchemist and transforming magus and I love them,I was just looking for a new and unexpected ways of natural attacking.

The kraken druid idea is interesting but I'd rather give it a lovecraftian flavor, tentacles you know xD

I see a lot of pretty nice info alñ around, thanks guys!

I'm almost sure to go barbarian for the pounce but O didn't knew about hag riven, I love the changeling flavor so I'll look into that one too.

I think that you can only pick an specific sacred weapon not the whole natural weapon category, it's like weapon focus, in fact if it's as I'm understanding it you should need to take as many weapon focus as different natural weapons you have to have them all as sacred weapons and that's a too extreme feat investment.

The Hair attack seems interesting however, I rather avoid MC but using your hair as weapon is just too awesome to pass xD

As the title says which class would do better at using natural attacks and how get more of them? the race is already set as abyss tiefling with maw or claw to get a bite so abyssal bloodline bloodrager is quite flavorful and it nets me two claws and a bite and enlarge person when raging, an enlarge person that doesn't care if I'm humanoid or native outsider.

Barbarian however isn't a pushover, beast totem also gives claws and pounce on top of that which is the dream of most melee characters and a some rage powers are awesome to say the least.

Feats so far include Raging vitality and power attack, lunge is also under consideration for the bloodrager as well as arcane strike.

Before you suggest it, Primalist isn't an option as this guy is supposed to be pfs legal and I'm just making this build up to level 12, it's unlikely that the game will last beyond that point.

Any suggestion about feats and so on is welcomed too.

Reach spell sounds good and Improved/greater grapple for my tiger too, a tripper Wolf is also viable but the I honestly prefer the tiger.

Companion boon is also pointless as my pet has full level and I'm not gonna to MC at all, I don't want to delay my spells.

And no one has an opinion about celestial servant? I mean smite and rake looks like amazing nova damage.
I'll also take a look at noble scion as my initiative is the only thing that my already dumped DEX actually improves.
