Albert is the fourth male in the Litchfield lineage to sport fiendish features, the first being the half-fiend son of the fiendish perpetrator several dozen generations ago.
Appearance: Albert stands at an imposing 6'3" and weighs 192 pounds. He has a narrow build with emphasis on agility, but lacking significantly in direct physical strength, though this seems to be difficult to determine below his waist, as his legs are digitigrade that appear to be similar to that of a goat's, ending in powerful cloven hooves. His barbed tail lazily swishes behind him while passive, but tends to become distinctly rigid or lash out when agitated. He sports small pointed ears as opposed to the regular humanoid ears, and deep grey pupilless eyes. His pale skin seems to have an unnatural toughness to it, and his teeth are viciously sharp. Albert sports a smart and stylish goatee and keeps his ashen hair well groomed.
Personality: Albert holds himself in a respectable composure, a sign of his teachings in his youth as a son of a noble family. Albert tends to seem more inviting than his appearance would lead one to believe, and is a rather respectable and polite man in sociable company.
However, unlike his older brother, Albert's family's curse is still obviously present in Albert, and Albert has forsaken his family's pompous nature and luxuries in Cheliax, devoting his body and mind to the retrieval and studies of dark artifacts to learn his rakshasan ancestor's origins.
DC 15 Knowledge Nobility (Reduce DC by 5 for Dark Archive and Cheliax characters):
The Litchfield family has fallen on hard times since the most recent heir of the family took control. The Litchfield family is a smaller noble house, and is likely best known for its lumber exports and holdings (specifically greywood trees from the Chitterwood), and its previous patriarch; Belvast Litchfield, had spent many years forming strong bonds with a number of other small houses, this work having been largely undone by his second-born son and current patriarch; Hieronymus Litchfield.
DC 20 Knowledge Nobility (Reduce DC by 5 for Dark Archive and Cheliax characters):
Hieronymus has three heirs, two of whom, Robert and Francisco, are well standing young nobles forming good connections with the sons and daughters of other Chelish houses, as well as foreign nobles from the likes of Taldor, Osirian, and Qadira. The third, Allen, seems to have been intentionally sheltered from the public by his father, and rumours claim that it is because Allen has taken an interest of his family’s heritage, and more specifically following in the footsteps of his uncle, Albert Litchfield the fourth. Hieronymus’ wife is the daughter to a moderately powerful trade baron of Varisia, and her sons seem to exhibit enough of their mother’s side to have distanced themselves from their father’s arrogance and stupidity.
Albert is a known Tiefling. He had left his family holdings and severed ties some thirty years ago. Despite this Hieronymus makes efforts to blame the ill fortune and poor state of the Litchfield family connections on his fiendish brother, though the press seems to have made a sick joke of this, clearly aware of Hieronymus’ self-indulgence, bluster, and social ignorance and incompetence. Belvast, still alive, but now aged enough to be ill-suited for the politics of small Chelish houses (largely due to his own health) resents Hieronymus for his ineptitude and wishes the government were more tolerant of the prospect of non-devilish tieflings.
DC 20 Knowledge History (Reduce DC by 5 for Dark Archive and Cheliax characters):
The Litchfield family has one dark secret that has been poorly kept; the entire family line has been tainted by fiendish blood for the better part of a millennia. The family has had a habit of naming each male member exhibiting strong fiendish traits, Albert. The first Albert Litchfield was born in 3854 AR, and was a true half-fiend, though what type of fiend his father was is largely unknown, and had been a rather strong political figure back in his time. The second Albert was born a few decades prior to the Everwar, and the third was leading the house during the Civil war in 4606 AR. Albert Litchfield the fourth was born in 4649 AR, a rough decade after the coronation of Abrogail I, and would’ve been considered an abomination in the eyes of the Asmodean church. However Belvast saw his son as something else, and made the efforts to raise him correctly as a noble son. Hieronymus was born a decade later and by age ten it was clear that he was inept and possessed an ego far beyond his worth. By 4682 AR Albert had left his family holdings behind, his stupid brother being left to be the heir to his family’s holdings.
