Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

I should be able to look at things this weekend, and I'm definitely okay with you switching characters. I'd much rather you be enjoying yourself. But I guess final say is with DM Kacy.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

If you guys wouldn't mind giving me a day or two, then I'll take over as GM for a while.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Well, I'm back, though it seems we might be losing our game? Since I originally signed on to possibly GM part of this, I'll take over if comes down to that, though my maps certainly won't be as good...

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Just a heads up--I'm gonna be out of the country for about 10 days. Feel free to NPC me as necessary.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair breathes deeply when he sees Lamm finally fall.

At last. At long last...

His hands fall to his knees as he catches his breath, saying nothing. He wipes the blood from his dagger onto Lamm's coat, stores it away, and begins picking up the others that he had thrown.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair
HP 9/9

With Lamm distracted by Red, Alastair shifts over, stabbing with his dagger.

Move: 5-foot step to J15
Standard: Attack Lamm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Damage: 1d3 - 1 + 1d8 ⇒ (1) - 1 + (8) = 8 I'm pretty sure that I have to do a minimum of 1 damage without sneak attack, so this should be 9 damage, assuming it hits.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair
HP 9/9

Taking advantage of the confusing he caused Lamm by his feigned throw, Alastair rushes forward, careful not to slip in the grease, and stabs at the man.

Move: Move to K15. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Standard: Attack Lamm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d3 - 1 + 1d8 ⇒ (2) - 1 + (1) = 2

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair
HP 9/9

Alastair continues moving toward Lamm, more slowly now. He pulls another dagger from his belt and begins to throw it, but stops suddenly, trying to draw Lamm's attention away.

5-foot step to M13.
Move: Draw dagger
Standard: Feint attempt: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
DC of Feint is either 10+Lamm's Base Attack+Wis Modifier or 10+Sense Motive bonus if he's trained in it (so you don't have to look it up).

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair
HP 9/9

Alastair runs along the north wall, eyes fixed on Lamm. He flings a dagger at the man before he has any time to react.

Move: Move to N13, drawing dagger.
Standard: Attack
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d3 - 1 + 1d8 ⇒ (2) - 1 + (5) = 6

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair conceals a blade in his sleeve, walks to the door, listens quietly for a second, and then tries to open it slowly and silently.

Sleight of Hand 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Stealth 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair follows Red across the walkway.

"If you'd like, I could try to sneak through the door and see what I can see," he says, turning to his companions.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair
HP 9/9

With the spider distracted by Rivane, Alastair lunges out with his dagger.

Attack with flank 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Damage 1d3 - 1 + 1d8 ⇒ (2) - 1 + (6) = 7

The blade slides into the spider in a weak spot, felling the creature on the spot.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair
HP 9/9

Alastair slides by Xavaros and Travigan, moving himself in a better position to attack.

Double move to P4

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair
HP 9/9

Alastair shifts to his left, his blade now in his hand, ready to strike. He lunges for the spider.

Five-foot step to K6, drawing concealed dagger
Standard: attack the spider in L5

Attack (+2 for flank, right?): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Damage:
1d3 - 1 + 1d8 ⇒ (1) - 1 + (7) = 7

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair looks around at the crates and barrels, moving forward toward the doorway.

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

At the sight of the fin, Alastair considers flinging a dagger at it, but refrains, remembering his mission. He listens at the door as Rivane enters, waiting for any sign of trouble.

Perception at the door 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

"I'll go across first. We can see how it holds my weight, and then judge from there."

Alastair walks cautiously onto the boardwalk, trying to be as nimble and quiet as he can.

Stealth 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

Acrobatics? 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair moves with the group outside, concealing a dagger in his sleeve as he goes, ready to throw if needed.

I feel terrible for these children, but Lamm is the one I want. And I'll put this dagger into his chest before he even sees me.

Sleight of Hand to conceal the masterwork dagger 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair walks back into the room to join the others. He reaches down and removes his dagger from the dog, wiping the blood off the blade before slipping it up his sleeve. A fine dagger catches his eye near the half-orcs body, and he swiftly picks it up and spins it around in his fingers before concealing it as well.

This is the finest dagger I've ever seen. I'm quite lucky to have found it.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Sounds good to me. I know it's a lot, but I would be interested in the masterwork dagger (since daggers are the only weapon I'm likely to use). It'll put me in debt for a while, but so be it.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair will delay and keep his prepared action.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

DM Kacy:
It won't let me edit, so yes I'd like to ready a sneak attack melee dagger attack on anyone who comes down the hallway who looks like he's coming to the half-orc's aid.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair
HP 9/9

Alastair moves to the edge of the room, hiding by the wall and looking around the corner for more enemies.

Move: Move to H12
Stealth 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Perception to see approaching creatures 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair
HP 9/9

Hearing Travigan's shouts, Alastair rushes back into the room. He bursts through the door, flicks his wrist and sends a dagger spinning at the dog in front of him.

Move: Move to J13
Standard: Ranged attack at the dog with dagger
Attack:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Sneak Attack: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

"I'll go with her," Alastair says, following behind Red. He falls into step with the fighter, being as quiet as he can.

Stealth 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

"Here goes nothing."

Strength 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair slinks around the back of the building, checking for anything else of note, and then returns to the group.

Assuming I didn't find anything...

"The side door is locked, and opening locks is not my best skill. I prefer to steal things out in the open," he adds with a grin.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

"Well then, here goes nothing. Watch me back...if you can see me." Alastair winks as he slinks off, heading toward the side door.

Stealth 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
Sleight of Hand to conceal a blade 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Perception to look and listen around the side door 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Yes, sorry, you can assume I introduced myself.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

"I could probably sneak forward and get a better look. Anybody with me?"

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

eprister[at]nd[dot]edu (yes it's a gmail account).

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

"You'll hear no protest from me. Besides, someone will have to lead the way. We halflings have a way of going...undetected."

Besides, what else do I have to live for?

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

When the Rabbit Prince card is drawn, Alastair reaches into his pocket, but finds nothing.

I know that was the card I found this morning. How did she get it back?

He stands up tall and grabs a card, turning it over and placing it face-up on the table in the blink of an eye.

1d9 ⇒ 7
1d9 ⇒ 6
1d9 ⇒ 4

"Never been much a fan of locks."

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

How do we know that we can trust even her? Perhaps this is a trap.

Sense Motive 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

"What exactly do you propose we do? Gods know that I hate Lamm as much as anyone, but I don't fancy getting myself caught by his men."

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair nods his assent.

"He caused my brother's death. I want nothing more than to put my dagger through his back."

A dagger deftly slides into his right hand, which he twirls and then slides it back into position up his sleeve, almost unconsciously.

He took my whole life from me.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair approaches the house and absent-mindedly draws one of his many daggers concealed around his body. He hides it, and goes inside.

Sleight of Hand 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Alastair is shocked.

Who could've put this here? And unnoticed? I have no choice but to go, though. For Alex.

He shakes his head, as if to rid himself of a bad memory, and continues down the street to find something to eat.

Sleight of Hand to grab a piece of fruit off of a nearby cart. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

I've never played a dragon disciple before, but I have designed one, and mine had only one level of sorcerer. The dragon disciple seems like a frontliner to me, with just a little casting throne in. But I think either way would be good.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

Also, since I live in Korvosa on the streets, I'll be staying in the alley that I normally call home.

Male Halfling Rogue (bandit/knife master) 2

I'm on a phone so this post won't be long, but I'm checking in and excited!

@DM Kacy you're absolutely right, it should be 1d3-1. Alastair isn't really a traditional damage dealer haha more an out of combat/sneak attack kinda guy.

Also, what were your thoughts on how you're going to convert CotCT to Pathfinder from 3.5?

I'd like to present Alastair Stills, male halfling rogue (bandit/knife master). I've been really hoping to do an adventure path, and I think he fits really well into the urban theme of this one.

Also, DM Kacy, if you're interested in using rotating GMs so that you wouldn't have to do double duty for the whole time, I'd be willing to help out. I'm also running two IRL campaigns (one a homebrew, and Jade Regent at 11th level), and have a decent amount of experience in PbPs.

Thanks for considering me!

I present to you Alastair Tepesh, male dhampir rogue (knife master) 6. A master of blades and an expert on those who have life without living, Tepesh can be found wherever the mysteries of the undead present themselves.
