Silver Crusade

As always madam I am hear to safe guard the gates of oblivion. I can see the time is still not yet upon us and again those too eager to bring about this worlds destruction have jumped the gun. I am hear to help seal this gate like I have the last. I have heard reports from an associate that we have even managed to hold the Diamond city from a heavy assault. With any luck my people will be heading that way within the coming months along with our newest convert from the Lantern Lodge Hokumatsu, The Thunder of the East.

As he finishes Akram seems to lose focus for a moment his eyes wandering off as if focusing on another conversation going on somewhere near by.

An elf comes into the room, a cake balanced on one hand as he strokes his beard with the other. He surveys the room, sees the Osirion sign, and puts the cake down near it.

"Eh? What's that? Oh, it is cherry cake with raspberry icing, the scarab is make of chocolate, the sun is a blob of lemon icing." He looks to the others. "Oh!! You want to know what faction to join. I suggest the Osirion faction. Knowledge never hurts, you know. Have you heard of the reward of Groetus?"

** spoiler omitted **

...I'd say I've heard about the reward of Groetus. I heard it was the same as the wrath of Groetus, only delayed until after you'd helped it with its wrath. What does that have to do with Osirion?

A tall, dark skinned man with dark purple eyes enters the room. Across his back is holstered a massive silver heavy flail, its haft covered in ancient runes and its multiple heads molded like those of silver skull faced moons.

"I heard my gods name and thought I might chime in. The way of Groetus is not oblivion, it is truth. It is to see the very end of all that is and ever will be, to watch the turning of time until in the final hour he sweeps up all that is, was, and ever could be and in that instant be the final repositories of all of history. To be his follower is to be the gatekeeper of all fate itself, guarding the multiverse from oblivion until it's proper time has come, and then ushering it in in peace. That is what it means to be one with Groetus."

As he explains he opens his right hand revealing an ornate tattoo of a skull faced moon. Around it radiates groetean scripture in a kelish script, meant to appear as moon light radiating from the lunar source.

"Now if you are still questioning your way in this world might I offer the Silver Crusade? We are here to help promote good in the world, helping those in need, and stomping out evil wherever and however it decides to rear it's head. We do all this without worry of faction or country and without their politics hampering our primary goals of making this world and any world we set foot on a better place for it's inhabitants."

But disagreement is part of life. We must learn to colaborate, putting our diferences aside for the greater good (without blindly following actions against our ethics, of course), even if some orders are indigest. For example, in a mission I had to protect GOBLINS! Filthy, disgusting, evil GOBLINS!

That was the only time my dwarven blood was against the Crusade. But I controlled myself. Barely.

HA! I remember that mission! We had to smuggle 4 of those little buggers across the border of Irrisen in the dead of winter after months spent trekking around in that bitter northern cold. That being said from what I remember it was the ferryman troll who was far worse then any of those little greenskins.

In the windswept deserts of deepest Thuvia, a lonely temple sits wasting away beneath the drifting sand dunes and gusting wind. Within this eroding structure of stone and silence a small congregation sits amongst the weathered pews. Behind the pulpit stands a tall garundi man, his hair a bright white and his eyes a piercing purple. He stands their preaching in hushed tones in a fine breastplate while he holds a silvered heavy flail high in one hand, it's heads uncanny resemblances of the form of this congregations god. These heads glow with an eerie moonlight while the rest is engraved with the symbols of Groetus. The sermon ends in a whisper and is followed by a long silence. After a moment the priest raises his head and begins to speak, "Welcome all, I am Akram Alhazrad, Keeper of The Gate and Guardian of The End and priest of this temple. I have called all of you hear, fellow followers of Groetus, to discover how your endeavors to fulfill the will of the Maw of the Apocalypse have been fairing and how you have been taking to working with the pathfinders."

With that he bows his head politely to the small crowd and awaits the responses of this congregation of the faithful.

Luckily it seems that those good followers of Andoran are starting to catch on that working for a nation with national problems may not mean that they will always be doing what is right for the cause of good. Hopefully this will either promote some more positive change within their organization or better yet, for those with good intentions and a drive to prove them to join the one faction that puts the needs of the people and golarion over the needs of any one nation and it's leaders.

In other news did any one else find it intriguing that Zarta claimed more loyalty to House Thrune then the devils of Cheliax?

We need to stay a faction willing to do what needs to be done, even if... especially when it ain't legal. You're not going to talk the chelaxians out of owning slaves or politely get the slave pits closed down or get rid of the problems in geb with anything but an aweful lot of fire.

I'm allied with the nation of Andor because that nation is doing the right thing, that they've got me on their flag is just a bonus. The second that stops being true.. the first one I mean, then I'm switching sides. My bow is placed at the service of an ideal, not a man or a nation.

I suppose you are right and I understand your passion to make sure that all souls are given an equal chance at the happiness and equality that this life brings but I can promise you that Andoran is not the only organization seeking those goals. On top of this I know that when I lay my head down at night I have never had to ask myself if the work the crusade has asked of me is for the greater good, or the greater good of my ladies bedroom discretions.

In the end I believe many of you are finally seeing Andoran show it's true colors, that of a nation with goals of becoming a bigger nation first and the actual furthering of the purposes of good second. In the end they are just like Osirian, Qadira, Taldor, and even vile Cheliax they seek to increase their holdings while removing any threats to their reputation and those who can't get behind that nationalism will find themselves at odds while those who aren't like Mr. H.W.J. here will find themselves in prominence.

My only hope is that should you not be able to right this sinking ship before it's too late that I find you as a brother in arms in the crusade before you find yourself executing a sea of innocents dubbed "enemies of freedom".

*bows deeply* I have been honored to aid in the cause.
That being said I need to speak to my coordinator about my next few assignments. I have spent the better part of 6 months knee deep in biting cold doing everything from running through canyons avoiding mammoth stampedes to fighting off altitude sickness in the wall of heaven and I feel ready for a change in scenery. I worry my venture coordinator just finds it amusing to strand us in lands where no one speaks the language. Luckily my work in the distant land of Goka seems to be making progress and this Braid of 1000 Masters seems to hold promise for exploration beyond the worlds frigid snowdrifts. I know that this puts my path far afield of Varisia and the troubles looming therein but the light of the Crusade must be carried to all corners of Golarion and with any luck we may win some allies to help combat this oncoming storm.

By his baleful countenance I thought I would never get to meet one of the fabled 38 goblins the decemvirate brought in, let alone as paladin and amongst my associates! How has your time amongst the pathfinders been, have you heard much news of your brethren?

Silver Crusade

A young osirani man with stark white hair and deep purple eyes enters the room, a helmet tucked up under his arm, a large multi headed flail at his belt, and a moon shaped pendant with a skull face dangling from his neck,

"Hello all I am Akram Alhazrad, Guardian of the Gate, Key to the End. It is a pleasure to meet more who seek to stave off that bleak night for one more day and seek to bring the joys of this world to others as I do."

He turns and stares at the goblin, "Ohh you must be one of the new recruits I have heard so much about, I remember hearing of an incident in the north on the frontier that ended with almost three dozen goblins joining the society but I never thought I would run into one in the flesh."

Silver Crusade

What I would love to see are more options for us in terms of prestige award purchases, the blasted devils seem to have half a dozen options and the taldan's have royalty titles to throw about yet we only get a a partial reimbursement for offering healing? We also need to promote more of the followers of good then just the lawful good ones, I have sailed across the sea from thurvia to alkenstar in order to keep the gates to my lords final judgement sealed away for as long as we can and I would love to find others here who share my conviction regardless of what laws might be put in our ways to hinder that goal.

Silver Crusade

The Guardian of the Gate answers, I am currently embroiled in affairs to the south but will bring myself and my companions northward as soon as we are able. May his face remained eclipsed for another day, the door is not meant to open yet.

A lot more doom and gloom than normal, for one!

Lol. This doesn't excite me, must the end always be so gloomy?
