M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

Ailmar takes a second look at that cloaked figure while nocking an arrow to loose at the merrow on the bridge.

Ailmar raises his dex as a swift action (+2)

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

On his turn, Ailmar lets fly his arrows, first at the merrow on the bridge, or the next closest or most threatening if that one is already dead.

Arrow 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 261d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Arrow 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 141d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

Ailmar's going to just hold his turn, knowing his weapons can't hurt this tortured undead creature, which seems to be pretty well under control. He turns his attention instead to scanning for any other threats.

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

Ailmar swiftly calls upon the powers of the tiger, readies his bow, moves into position and fires at the beast.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 131d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

Knowledge Religion: 1d20 ⇒ 15

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 That includes the +2 luck thing. If free agent applies, another +2 charm/compulsion

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 I almost have to assume this creature is of malintent... that's in ref to the not quite so human and alive person

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

Ailmar, bow in hand heaves a sigh and follows Eiji. What could possibly go wrong with this?

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

If I can, I'd like to grab a "plain" cold iron greatsword and sell my old one before we head out.

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

I quite agree Catriona. All things considered, my guess is the answer lies more closely to your realm of expertise than mine.

Ailmar studies the unkindness for a bit, hoping to glean a more precise sense of what it is they're up to.

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

Sighing in relief, Ailmar sets about coaxing the wolf along.

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

Ailmar readies his bow, and eases up to position himself between Orm and the wolf. Quietly, firmly, Ailmar says to Orm: Orm, I need you to get behind me, and stay behind me. We're going back to you mother now.

Hopefully this wolf leaves well enough alone. Now...I wonder if it has a pack with it

tracking: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 You know...to see if there's a 'rest of the pack'.

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

GM style ignorance :) If I help him, it he makes it, Ailmar will fashion a quick litter and get him back to the group, or carry him if it's not far etc

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

Ailmar quickly decides that scouting the area might be more productive than sitting around watching logging work.

I think I'm going to traipse through the forest and see what I can see, should anyone care to join me.

M Human Ranger (Wild Hunter)

@Hokkaido: I believe that would've been a roll for a random encounter had you gone outside to string up the hammock, which you did not, leading me to believe no roll was actually necessary.

Menander, I am Ailmar, well met. Would you do us the kindness of sharing your knowledge of the strange events, and especially any rumors or theories as to what might be the cause?

Paid travel is the finest sort.

So...how do I add my character to this business?
