About A'heemsa

A’heemsa
“Thank you for meeting with me Venture Captain Hestram. I’ve been interested in joining the Pathfinder Society since my exile from Hermea when I was sixteen and the gold dragon’s test revealed that I was a follower of Desna. I guess I was a little relieved, I didn’t like hiding my beliefs. The Hermeans were civil about the exile and removing me from my family, they’re used to breaking up families. My father was invited to the island because of his revolutionary alchemical work in his Qadian homeland. I think the dragon knew of his distant Aasimar heritage, despite him being human, and that might have been another reason he was so highly sought after and introduced to my mother. She is a seventh generation Hermean and has entirely bought into Mengkare’s philosophy but the dragon must have known about the chance for an Aasimar offspring (not much of a chance, it seems, my sister was born human). Anyway, I was given 150 gold pieces and passage to wherever I wished. Knowing nothing of the world I choose Varisia, specifically Riddleport. Most of the ships that visit Promise are from there. I had no idea where to go once I left the ship, I’d only known Promise since I was born and other cities of the world were just stories. My father had told me about his home in Gurat and other cities in Qadira but I knew nothing about anywhere else. Having nowhere to go in Riddleport I began looking for other followers of Desna, knowing that her followers usually gather in the wilderness and rarely in any permanent building, I started by looking for signs on the out-skirting roads. They helped me learn about Riddleport and getting settled in that city that was so different from Promise. I spent two years there mostly working for a dullard of an alchemist. It was very unfulfilling work and I decided to travel to father’s homeland, maybe meet some family, I was named after my grandfather after all. Traveling was difficult, fellow followers of Desna helped me on the way but it took almost a year to get to Qadira. On the way I learned of the Pathfinders, I met several teams traveling to all parts of Golarion. They always carried themselves with such poise and confidence.
In Gurat I lived with an aunt and uncle, I spent time with my namesake but he died shortly after my arrival. They were all desperate for news of my father, his wife and my sister. As they learned of my family, I learned about Qadira and its history.
I want to join the Pathfinders because I want gain prestige and gold, now hear me out Venture Captain. I don’t believe my sister is happy in Hermea and with that dragon controlling every aspect of their lives, I haven’t been able to communicate with her. So, I want to try to influence Qadira enough to try to get me an audience with my family.
What say you Venture Captain Hestram, may I join your Pathfinders?
