About AesantielAESANTIEL
Aesantiel is slightly over six feet tall and graceful. She is deeply tanned, with long chestnut hair tied back in a utilitarian braid. Her eyes are a startling piercing green. She's dressed in a simple linen set of monk's robes with a gauzy veil over her hair. "I am Aesantiel of the Taegrejee na'Maauteran. Some here have referred to my people as 'the Desert Elves of Rahadoum'." Aesantiel's vioce is a clear, liquid contralto. "It is my hope we will work together harmoniously." Her greeting is delivered calmly - a wind-smoothed sandstone plinth standing imperturbably in the desert.

Aesantiel is from the deep wastes of the Rahadum desert - east of Shepherd's Rock. She embodies her people's periodic desire to reconnect with the broader world. She was recruited to the Pathfinder Society soon after walking out of the desert at Manaket. The Taegrejee na'Maauteran, Aesantiel's tribe of deep-desert elves, has a view of time, and life, and relationships that is almost naively minimalist - all of the complexity and nuance boiled off by the unrelenting sun.
Faith:
Aesantiel reveres a diverse set of divine beings. Most of these entities are concerned with Soveryian, rather than Golarian. This pantheon extends to the Eldest of the First World and the Elemental Lords. Aesantiel finds herself most aligned with the Eldest of the First World - Magdh, The Lost Prince, and Shyka the Many. Aesantiel PFS: FIrst Steps - At HQ - Jessica Adventure: Date (game world): 01; Date (real world): 2012/07/30
The young half-elf woman, startled by your apparent concern, stops in her tracks. She brushes the tears from her eyes. "My name is Jessica Harrigan. I've only been a Pathfinder for a couple of months. Don't worry about me, I'm just upset because Venture-Captain Valsin was very critical about my last report. He's harsh, but ultimately fair. I haven't developed the thick skin that most seasoned Pathfinders have." ~---~ Venture-Captain Valsin cocks an eyebrow at your question. "Someone who has a lot of promise, but has yet to deliver." ~---~ "Oh, those places are well-known! A lot of Pathfinders report to them on a regular basis. You can just ask around in those districts and you should be able to get accurate directions. If you're really in a hurry, you can get a carriage ride for 1 copper piece each." She looks over your list. "I think the order it's in is pretty good. Start at the docks and work your way back up and around." She walks over to Aesantiel, fishes a few coins out of a pouch, and gives her five copper pieces. "That should get you started...and also serve as my thanks." With a smile on her face, she walks off with blank sheets of parchment being blown by a light breeze. ~---~ Aesantiel has purchased a packet of tea (that matches Valsin's brand, hopefully) as a present for Jessica when the group returns to HQ. -------------------------
Adventure: Date (game world): 01; Date (real world): 2012/09/01
Aesantiel was very harsh with Gilga Baltwin. Aesantiel threatened, bullied, and intimidated her while Aesantiel's companions searched her house and interviewed children under her care. Directly addressing herself to Gilga, "I do not know your custom, but I have made some study of human traditions. If you desire to avoid rank humiliation and public loss of honor, I am willing to assist you in.. I believe you call it.. ?? ('seppuku')? The ritual disembowling - I'm not sure I've pronounced it correctly." Again to Elross, but with her eyes locked on Gilga, "Elross, would you be a dear and fetch a large, very sharp, disembowling knife from the kitchen?" "I don't think I like your tone," Gilga sneers. "Perhaps the town guard would like to hear what you have to say." Gilga gets a fiery look in her eyes, but makes no move. "i take it,then, that is not your tradition. A simple, 'no, thank you, I'd rather not disembowel myself at the moment,' would have sufficed." ~---~ Cedric says to Ollysta:
Baltwin uses her own skills with herbs and remedies to heal the children that come to her. The medicine, which she has an abundance of from several different charities, she instead sells to unknown men of questionable background in order to fund her rather severe drinking habit. Even that is not enough for she also sends the orphans who say with her to work for other people, who pay her for their labor. The fact that she helps children is not in question. However her character, methods, and motivations are less than good. Here is a manifest of some of the charities where she has received donations. You may want to inform them how their medicines are actually being used. Ollysta replies
~---~ "Mrs. Baltwin also has three grown children by her husband Frederick that she has lost contact with. i would personally like to discover where her children are, and what their circumstance is. Is that something your temple could help with?" ~---~ "Lady Ollysta, can you please inform me at the Pathfinder's Society when Mrs. Baltwin's disposition has been determined? I find myself taking some interest in her, and her case." ~---~ Aesantiel believes Gilga can find greater satisfaction and joy in her world, in her work. And also be more effective in her role in society, if she were to reconnect with her children (and stop drinking...). Aesantiel would like to hunt down Gilga's children and allow them an opportunity to reconnect with their mother. Hero Lab® and the Hero Lab logo are Registered Trademarks of LWD Technology, Inc.
