Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian pokes at the closest ant's body with his rapier, nodding in satisfaction when he realizes all three have been sufficiently killed. "The farmsteads in the area must be doing very difficult if they have these things to contend with." He looks towards the setting sun. "Should we make camp or continue on through the night?" ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian follows the dracha, as inspired by his leadership as he is by his magical uniqueness. He buys a few pieces of waybread from Casey's herbal stall, after smelling the strange spices he had available. None were magic, however. He retrieves his rapier at the gate, almost directly behind Y'rjar'n. "I think I prefer having a weapon in my hand, as well. It's fitting, somehow." ![]()

![]() "I think we should head to the Keep as soon as possible then. I would like to know what strange magic was discovered there. Truthspeaker should be just the faen I need to speak to." Adrian eats some more of the roasted vegetables that were placed on his plate, then takes a hearty quaff of ale. "To our venture, and what fortunes come our way." ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian leans forward, taking another sip of ale from his tankard. "I, for one, would be interested in seeing this Ebonring Keep. I have heard tale that it once protected an item of strange magic, or that the fortress itself is magical in nature." He ponders this for a moment, as though attempting to remember more about it. "Iriana? Isn't she a magister?" ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian follows Y'rjar'n, curious about the turn of events. He sits down at the table also and gladly accepts a tankard of ale. "I sense truth in your words, Silvertongue, but a wisdom that escapes most. What you are describing is the way of a great many things, including magic. Magic flows in statements of change and stability. It is the basis for its existence. But other things besides magic and politics bend to the rules of transformation." ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian watches with some concern as the sibeccai runs off. "Well, I suppose you are right. He probably won't be bothering anyone for some time again. Shall we continue? I, for one, an interested in getting to the Liar's Club. I'm not certain what kind of welcome has been prepared for the dracha, but I've never been able to get in the tavern as of yet. You have to be invited, usually." ![]()

![]() Adrian looks over the unconscious sibeccai. "I hadn't expected that particular spell to be so effective. I think their bark was worse than their bite..." Adrian makes a worried glance at Gargerath. "Can I say that without offending anyone?" He looks around the party, questioning uncertainty gleaming in his eyes. "Now what? After the one that got away? What should we do with this one?" ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian nods and stands. "It's settled then. I've an interest to see the Liar's Club myself. I've heard the ale is fantastic. And as our good innkeeper has informed us, it's the prospect of work that really holds my interest. It's been too long since I lived in De-Shamod. Work is rare and difficult to come by for the most part." ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() "We'll see. For now, lets just get some rest. It's been a wild journey from Gahanis. Tomorrow I plan on heading to the Trade Council building and see if any mercenary or trade guard groups or hiring. You never know with bandits, and rhodin on the rise." The way he mentions rhodin, its apparent he harbors a great deal of animosity towards them. ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() "What brings you so far away from your kind, ahhhh....." Adrian begins asking the dracha, then realizes he's not even sure about its gender. "My name is Adrian Selliene, and these are mostly just fellow inn guests. We're here looking for work, and I imagine something will pop up for us tomorrow." ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian's jaw drops open at the sight of the creature, but he quickly closes it realizing he looks like a country bumpkin. "A dracha! But... how? Why? I never thought I would see one of your kind so far from the major cities." Adrian pauses a moment, knowing he still sounds like an idiot. "Not that I have seen many of your kind. Only the Seven in De-Shamod (from a distance, mind you). And one in Gahanis when I visited the Steward." ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian nods. "The same. I came through Lothis last season. That was when I had to stay at the Eagle's Rest. I had a bit more money then. Since then I've been part of a mercantile escort, but I wasn't needed anymore when we got to Gahanis from De-Shamod. So back here I came." Adrian lowers his voice as though sharing a secret. "The trade council is a lot more lenient than any Speaker." ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian leans back in his chair, looking in his backpack for a small leatherbound book which he pulls out. "I suppose it is getting late. I hadn't realized it." He opens the book as though intending to read, but looks around at the three strange people in the room. "Why are you gentlemen here, anyway?" ![]()
Male Human Champion of Magic
![]() Adrian sits down at the table, also pulling out five silver coins. "I'll stay in the common room as well. The roast chicken looks delicious. I hope I get some work soon, though. I'm on my last few silvers." Casey smiles as he recieves the coins. "I'm sure something will come up. It always does." Adrian smiles back, but turns to Gargerath. "I can attest for the Eagle's Rest prices. I stayed there the first time I came to Lothis. A pleasant enough place, but fairly expensive." He picks up a slice of lemon and a slice of lime and puts them in his water before he quaffs a drink. "I admit though I've never drunk water like this." ![]()

![]() Adrian lowered the hood of his traveling cloak as he stepped under the eaves of the gate. Having visited Lothis before, he knew the drill and quickly unstrapped his rapier and handed over his blade and crossbow, then reached into his beltpouch and slid a silver coin over the captain's desk. "Welcome back, Adrian. How fares Gahanis?" The captain was friendly enough, even as the remaining guards checked Adrian for hidden weapons. "Well enough. Bandits have become more active than usual this spring. Have any recommendation for an inn or tavern where I can rest my feet?" "Aye," the captain responds, clapping Adrian on the shoulder. "Try the Tattered Quilt this time. Was cleared out after the last festival, so you don't have to head clear 'cross town to the Eagle's Rest. Oh... and we've some newcomers here, so see if they need lodgings as well. Forgot to mention it to them." Adrian nods in understanding. He owed the captain a favor or two. "I'll catch up with them. Shouldn't be too hard to find any strangers." The captain nods as well, heading back to his desk as a pair of familiar farmers passed by on their cart, waving a seasonal pass at him. "Foreigners too for the most part, if you catch my drift." He leaned over his desk and scrawled something on paper with a quill. "Good journey, Adrian. Trade Council greets you." "Good journey." |
