Born under rather more humble circumstances, Aadilashka has endeavored mostly successfully to keep her origins a secret from the general public.
The small village of Glemantis, on the eastern coast (a fishing village for the most part) is home to a few Vishkanyi in addition to the humans that reside there. However, the temple of Mitras preaches against these creatures for their serpentine nature. As a result of this teaching, the Vishkanyi are treated as little more than slaves, and generally worse. Racial hatred is high in Glemantis, especially towards the outsider serpent-tongued.
After one cultural misunderstanding the people of the village went berserk, calling on the nearby noble to eradicate the "evil" peoples. He sent out his knights and by the next dawn, most of the Vishkanyi had been slaughtered. Aadilashka is a rare survivor of that bloody night and one of the reasons she has sworn vengeance against the Empire of the Holy.
She turned to the dark forces at the next dark moon, using rituals to ask Asmodeus for his aid in this time, and while she has not promised her soul, she may be on the verge of doing so, especially if her plan of Vengeance against the Holy goes awry. (Asmodeus may or may not use that to his advantage.)
It was then that Asmodeus sent her a darker spirit companion, invisible to most, only sensed when the wind blows in the right way, and occasionally heard when the wind moans musically through the trees. To Aadilashka, this spirit was a great boon, and under its tutelage and telepathic bond, she learned how to master her voice. After a time training in darkness, hiding from the same humans who had killed her people, Aadilashka scraped together what gold and valuables she could find from the remains of her people, purchased some exotic-looking clothing from a performance troupe she came across on the road, and made her way to Goldfleet where she could begin a new life and put her plan into action.
