I'm running the Carrion Crown adventure path right now, and my group has just finished the Haunting of Harrowstone. I'm reading the second book right now, and have made it to the encounter with Brother Swarm and his spawn. This part of the adventure seems really cool, but I'm also in need of some advice.

You see, one of my PCs is a dhampir, which treat negative energy as positive and vice-verse, and wraiths only deal damage through negative energy. How does one pit wraiths against a PC who is completely immune to their attacks? Sure, wraiths also drain Con, but I don't see how healing a creature could possibly sap some of its life force. I also don't want to just say "Well, the wraiths attacks deal a different kind of negative energy, so they still hurt you."

What have the other GMs with dhampir PCs done to balance encounters such as that?

Name: Tonkin Boofdoon
Race: Half-Orc
Classes/levels: Bard 2
Adventure: Haunting of Harrowstone
Location: Harrowstone
Catalyst: Old Ember Maw
The Gory Details: After Ember Maw dropped Akash the Wizard to a single hit point, Tonkin decided to put himself between the furnace and the wizaed as the rest of the party attempted to defeat it. On the next turn, Ember Maw let loose a jet of flame towards Tonkin, which brought him to -7 hit points and... instantly killed him.

"But player," I said, flipping through the Core Rulebook, "a character doesn't die from negative damage until it's equal to their Con score!"

"It is," said Tonkin's player.

Lesson learned: Do not put a 7 in Con.

I want to make an awakened tyrannosaurus BBEG, but I don't know if I should give him classes as a gunslinger or a ninja. Or maybe a monk, or black guard. Which works best mechanically for a tyrannosaurus, and which do you think is the most imposing?
