Maru of Kodomi village
|
Maru uses his belly once again to try and flatten Big Katsu. He hits on the bounce-back!
Belly-do bump: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Bludgeoning damage, implements: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7
Personal Vulnerability weakness: 3 = 3
Belly-do bump, MAP: 1d20 + 8 - 5 ⇒ (15) + 8 - 5 = 18
Bludgeoning damage, implements, forceful: 1d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 7
Personal Vulnerability weakness: 3 = 3
Third action depends on if Big Katsu is down or not.
If Big Katsu survived that, Maru tries one more time with his belly.
Belly-do bump, MAP: 1d20 + 8 - 10 ⇒ (9) + 8 - 10 = 7
Bludgeoning damage, implements, forceful: 1d6 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 + 2 = 8
Personal Vulnerability weakness: 3 = 3
If Big Katsu is down he intimidates the halfing.
“Hey short-stack, might want to surrender now that your boss is down!”
Maru's Intimidation (T): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 (Intimidating Glare)

Maru, irritated, slams Katsu with his belly twice more. Katsu laughs, until the last blow, where he feels something snap. Katsu stops... he spits up a gout of blood before dropping to the floor. Maru looks triumphantly at Hakaw, who now looks absolutely petrified...
"Umm... boss? Boss?" he stammers

COMBAT OVER
Exploring the remaining rooms yields nothing of note. When you emerge from the Tofu shop, you notice that the fog begins to dissipate and the risucho begin departing to deliver mail to other villages.
Mayor Kimi approaches you. "So what did you find down there?" she asks.
While I prepare your chronicles, go ahead and tell the good Mayor what you found
GM Tiger
|
I've gone ahead and sent your chronicles and reported the game. As the credits roll, please tell the mayor what you found and post your outros. :)
Maru of Kodomi village
|
As a merchant, Maru starts with the most important finding. “There was a trading post under the tofu shop! We need to find out more about it, but it is an interesting find.”
“We also found some people running a smuggling operation. I think we have pretty much shut it down, at very least the boss is dead. They were into some pretty bad stuff. The boss had somehow gotten their hands on a nasty intelligent sword and that item was causing all sorts of mental issues for them. Still a few down there that are unreasponsive.”
Then Maru’s tone changes to something much more somber. “I am sorry to say that I think we found your two missing Tengu as well. We found two who had been murdered and the murder used as part of an evil ritual. We removed the desecration and can bring out the bodies for a proper burial.”
Looking around, in a more up beat tone he says “I don’t know if it was the nasty sword, the desecration of a shrine, or both that was bothering Sakura. In any case, it appears that the Kami is satisfied.”
Guiseppino The Long-Nosed
|
Long-Nosed nods at all the information Maru shares with the mayor in agreement.
"It is a pweasuwe to hewp youw viwwage sowve youw pwobwem." they say after the mayor thanks them lift the fog caused by their guardian kami because of what they discovered inside beyond the tofu shop.
Calla Tilly
|
Tilly gives Mayor Kimi a respectful bow, the weight of everything that happened finally catching up to her now that danger has passed. She lingers a step behind the others as Maru finishes speaking, “At the very least, whatever was poisoning this place is gone now. And that matters.”
Tilly slings her crossbow across her back and watches the fog finally burn away into crisp, clear air. She laughs a little at the strange journey—bouncing heads, fireworks in tight spaces, bellies used as weapons, and multiple very embarrassing warning shots.
Tempest in a Teapot
|
"Could we do a fireworks show for your village, in memory of lost souls and and in honor of your village's freedom?" Tempest asks. "Fireworks is a fine gnome tradition, but I understand that other peoples like it too."
Irina Valishnakova
|
Irina nods. "We have shut down the rare animal and plant smuggling ring and brought the murderers of your nephews to justice. Sakura is pleased and has has lifted the blockade. Perhaps some fireworks would indeed be a proper way to celebrate."
GM Tiger
|
Mayor Kimi is saddened upon learning the fate of her two nephews but thanks your for ridding the village of the evil. The village invites you to a banquet in your honor as well as a memorial for Kenji and Daisuke. The banquet is capped by a beautiful fireworks display engineered by Tempest.
Prior to leaving the village, a Risucho appears, delivering a single cherry blossom as thanks from Sakura before departing.
By the time you return to the Three Gates Lodge to report back to Amara Li, merchant traffic along the Spirit Road has resumed. Amara Li takes great interest in the history of the former Rahk Lo trading outpost, and wonders if the Rahk Lo might be invited to return to their trading post given all the merchant traffic that now passes through Silvertree. As for the records of criminal activity from the accountant’s office, her eyes gleam as she looks over the document. "Excellent work, Pathfinders. Studying this document will hopefully provide leads to tracking down some of the other Golden League cells throughout Tian Xia."

Thanks everyone!

I had a blast running playing with you all—hope to adventure together again soon!
