@GM -- Can the tent fit two small characters and one full-sized Anock?
Officer Wilson
|
Anock - Do you have the ability to heal HP? Domehead doesn't actually have Stamina Points.

Nip can heal Domehead with a couple of Mystic Cures.
Officer Wilson
|
He was only down 4 points, so that gets him up to full. A Treat Injuries check would have mostly done it, also. Doesn't heal much in 1E, but it wasn't much damage.
Anock
|
Unfortunately, Anock can only heal SP, unless she tries a DC 25 Treat Deadly Wounds Medicine check. With only a +7 modifier, she's bound to get her ego bruised. At least crit failing skill checks isn't a thing in SF1e.

What rolls do you need from us at this point? Fortitude saves? Survival?
I'm not sure how to navigate the current "acid rain" challenge.
Officer Wilson
|
If you're in the tent, I don't think you need to make any rolls ... but I'm guessing that tent isn't going to last us all that long.
Officer Wilson
|
So ... we aren't putting up the tent? Or we're putting up the tent and Nipp just isn't getting into it?
Nippostia Fernbreeze 2
|
Based on the narration, I made the assumption that we were packed to roll out when the storm hit, so we didn't have any other options, and acid rain didn't sound like something good for our last tent.
And then, of course, my dice decided to have a death wish... :(
| cmlobue |
You have the same three options every time a storm hits. But the tents and environmental protections my run out, which leaves you with just Survival and Fortitude. The storms are not so sudden that you wouldn't have time to do whichever of the three options you choose. And (at least in theory) you will have a clear day eventually.
Officer Wilson
|
Is my 18 on take 10 Survival sufficient to get a sense of how long each of the storms may last? That might help us decide about using environmental protections or not.
Nippostia Fernbreeze 2
|
If the storm damage stays similar, Nip can easily heal Wilson's mount.
If it looks like a particularly nasty storm is whipping up, she can use her Life Bubble spell gem to create 4 days of protection for us all (except the dino... she's only 4th level).
Officer Wilson
|
Does the spell gem.scale with you? I thought the spell.gem.cast at the level of the gem.
Anock
|
Whatever you guys decide, please drag Anock along with you/force her compliance. Otherwise she'll take the least inconvenient option for herself until it's no longer available. Appealing to her ego works.
And if you're getting tired of how I'm RPing her, please let me know. I'll adjust so we can all have fun.

Yes, it scales with you. The gem gives you access to the spell without knowing the spell and without burning a spell slot.
The spell gem's level is the highest level spell it can store. Life Bubble is level 1, so it fits into a level 1 spell gem. The spell casts at your caster level, since you're the one casting it. That's why only appropriate casters can use spell gems.
You're probably thinking of a spell amp rather than a spell gem.
Spell amps have the spell AND the casting magic rolled into one injectable item that anyone can use. Since anyone can use a spell amp, it lists the caster level of the spell amp.
A level 1 spell amp of Life Bubble would protect 3 creatures (because it has a caster level of 3).
Does that help?

You're good as far as I'm concerned.
I'm having fun playing Nip off Anock's incredible ability to make everything about her!

Just want to check, given the description of this animal: We have been sustaining ourselves off the land as we travel, right? Is this just a normal hungry animal, or have we gotten any sense that the food on this planet is particularly sparse?
| cmlobue |
Your Survival plus the supplies you salvaged is good enough to take 10 to subsist. You'd need to study a bit more than you have time for to know why this specific animal is hungry.
Officer Wilson
|
Not sure how close this is to wrapping up, but I'll be traveling this weekend, but don't want any delays based on me. I'm guessing there's probably one more fight before we get off this planet. I'll write up some botting instructions if needed. Fortunately, I mostly just hit things (sometimes in tandem with Domehead).
Officer Wilson
|
Are we allowed to take 10 or take 20 on these checks? Is there a time crunch?
Officer Wilson
|
Looks like we may have lost Poko ... and GM, I do still have a question about taking 10 or 20 on these checks to investigate the probe site.
Officer Wilson

There is a boon from a season 1 adventure that gives you a few hundred UPBs. My 701 character used it to craft an 8-person mobile hotelier tent, specifically so it would be sturdier than normal. That character's at level 12 now and it has never come in useful. Wish I'd had it on this adventure, though. ;)
Officer Wilson
|
GM: Have you reported this table for inclusion in Gameday? I think from another thread that the deadline was either yesterday or today. My info is on the RPG Chronicles, although I notice that it looks like Poko's information is still missing.
| cmlobue |
I have not. Submitting now, and will send an update once Poko checks in.
| cmlobue |
Sorry, the planet still hates you.

Whoops! Nip was a little early with the whole 'popping the champagne corks' thing.
| cmlobue |
The slides are in fact gone, even from the trash. No idea why, but I have put in a request for Google to try to recover them on their end. No idea if it will work, and we're already over on time I'm going to throw it to the players what to do now (since you have all your rerolls/RP and things were turning toward the Starfinders anyway) - do you want to wait and see what happens with the slides or call it now and move on to the conclusion?
ETA: Looks like the restore worked, and faster than expected. Please check >HERE<.

@GM -- I just noticed the crabs starting in the cloud were taking 1d3 acid damage instead of 2d6. Why the limited damage?
Acidic Mist: You call forth the corrosive atmosphere of a gas giant to damage your opponents. A creature that starts its turn in the area takes 2d6 acid damage. The corrosive mist does not obscure vision.
| cmlobue |
The crabs were not taking 1d3 acid damage. They were dealing 1d3 acid damage with their attacks. I have been using the original roll for damage from the cloud - which was pretty good, but I can reroll if you'd like.
Nippostia Fernbreeze 2
|
OOOOoohhhhhh... I didn't understand that.
No re-roll necessary. We're good. :D
| cmlobue |
Congratulations! We are finally done. You collected all the rewards, and I will have chronicles for you by tomorrow.
Primary Objective - Don't die.
Secondary Objective - any three of: successfully scan the surface or launch the probe without it taking damage during the Orbital Survey encounter, escape the sinking ship while also taking at least 4 different items, take the river path and defeat the Iski eel in area B, learn about the evolving nature of Iski’s life-forms in the probe landing area, or successfully construct shelters while waiting for the Lamplighter to arrive.
| cmlobue |
Chronicles are >HERE<. Please let me know if there are any problems. I will leave the thread open for a few days for any final roleplay or questions.
Thank you for playing!

WOW -- what a romp! That was a great game.
Thanks for running, and thanks to everyone for such a fun time!!
