Officer Wilson
|
Wilson shakes his head. "No, that's okay. I don't dance. It's part of why I was such a good security officer at Songbird Station. You get distracted by the music, and next thing you know, people are summoning hardlight robots to attack people on stage."
Wilson would have set up his sleeping bag in a position where he and Domehead would have the best cover against any possible storms. Since Domehead probably notices the issue first, she him awake. He lets everyone know and suggests they stay in the tent, then goes back into the cover he found.
If the storm begins to harm them, he will activate his environmental seals and those on Domehead's environmental collar.
Wilson Fort save w/ Survival bonus: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 4 = 30
Domehead Fort save w/ Survival bonus: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 4 = 29
Okay, the dice roller is *definitely* jacked up and doing repeats ... This has just happened way too many times throughout Gameday to be truly random. At least it's 20s now instead of 1s. ;)

Where are we in our journey at this point? How many days do we think we have left?
Officer Wilson
|
Sounds like about 3 days left to travel at this point, but no idea how long we will have to wait once we get to the probe.
Nippostia Fernbreeze 2

Thanks -- and double thanks for the "probe" reminder. I forgot that part of the plot somewhere. Nip will want VC Arvin to spring for VERY luxurious hotel rooms and VERY nice meals out for the team when we get home to Absalom Station!!!
Anock
|
Anock will heartily agree with Nip on that, especially since they're bound to be more clean than anything out here.
"Ugh! If this storm keeps me awake, I'm going to vote for sleeping in tomorrow." Anock grouses, pummeling the lumps out of the ground under her sleeping bag. It's clear she's not terribly concerned about running out of time, whether or not she should be.

The remaining distance is 33 miles. Three full days would do it if the team is not delayed by daytime storms.
Wilson and Domehead find a great place to hide from the storms, while the others shelter in the tent.
Tent, Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Which weathers the weather once more.
I see one vote for a shortened next day to avoid fatigue.
Officer Wilson
|
Wilson looks up at the sky once again as the storm passes. "I think we should keep moving. We'll likely have plenty of time to rest when we get to the probe, and can maybe construct some more permanent protective structure that will more consistently protect us for the duration of our wait."
He glances over at Nipp. "Do you have some magic that will help if the travel is too much for us?"
I believe lesser restoration can remove the fatigued condition.
Officer Wilson
|
He considers what he knows about the area and whether this looks like a decent place to gather food. "Maybe it would give some time to gather up some berries or something that might help our food stretch out a few days more..."
Anock
|
"Indeed," Anock haughtily replies. "It is vital to remain well rested and keep up our strength so we can respond to threats to our existence without handicap. Who *knows* what the incubation time is on the pathogens we've no doubt been infected with. We'll fight off those infections better with sufficient rest." She nods curtly, as if she's just settled everything, and really you should just do as she says in the first place. It's for your own good, and definitely *not* because she wants to sleep more because then it's easier to pretend this isn't happening.

“That’s a good question, Wilson. Let me think… ”
She digs into her pack for a moment, then comes up with some spell gems.
“I have these…they’re good for one spell each. This one gives us some megavitamins, and this one is life bubble. That’ll cover four of us for four days. This one is… um… it’s acidic mist — nope, that one goes back into the pack.”
Nip continues the conversation as she repacks the spell gems.
“I know lesser remove condition. My instructor always said it puts the ’s’ into ‘spell casting’ because it clears up shaken, sickened, and staggered. I can heal everyone too, but you knew that.”
She looks down for a moment, then back to Wilson.
“I don’t know the other one you mentioned, lesser restoration. Sorry.”
Anock
|
Preening at another point being scored in favor of sleeping in, Anock chooses to say nothing. The smug expression on her face speaks volumes, though.
| cmlobue |
The team may not be doing anything today, but the atmosphere certainly is.
Around dinner time, more acid rain appears on the horizon.
Officer Wilson
|
Wilson goes back to hunker down with Domehead under cover, after making sure the others are tucked away in the protection of the tent.
Wilson Fortitude: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 4 = 14
Domehead Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 4 = 22
Anock
|
"I'm more worried about him than us. Well, and the tent." Anock glances up at the one poor tent that's protected most of the team through so much awful weather. Please hold!
Nippostia Fernbreeze 2
|
Nip checks on Wilson and and Domehead before hunkering down in the tent.
“Yeah, me too, Anock. I hope they’ll be okay. I have a feeling they will.”
And if something happens, I can always heal them...

Tent Fortitude: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

The rain actually seems to wash the road dust off the tent, leaving it in like new condition.
The next day is foggy. No harm comes to the Starfinders over the next 12 miles, but they spend the day itching, and they know they can't use their environmental protections to stop it because they will run out.
The Paizo boards may be going down for a couple days along with the new store. If there is downtime, we will pick up when they are back.
Officer Wilson
|
"At least we're making good time."
Another night of camping ... and hoping.
Nippostia Fernbreeze 2
|
Everything's scheduled to go down tomorrow (Monday) for a few days. Here's hoping we'll meet on the other side! :)
Anock
|
"*Why* am I itchy?! I swear, if I'm allergic to this fog--!" Anock huffs, but doesn't finish her thought. She's too busy trying not to scratch through her epidermal layer.
Nippostia Fernbreeze 2
|
Nippostia gives the tent a hug once it’s folded and stored in its travel cover.
“I love this tent! I’m gonna buy one when we get home. And we're all going to sign it to remember this trip. It's healthy to remember the challenging times in your life because that's where you grow.”
She gives Anock a sideways glance.
"Provided you don't catch some weird disease. That can happen too, yanno."
Officer Wilson
|
Wilson shakes his head. "No, I think it's the fog ... This planet is weird. You're scratching yourself with four of your arms, too, Poko. Honestly, at this point I'd consider that life bubble spell you mentioned, Nippostia, if I thought it would work. This is really irritating." He continues the hike, though.
Nippostia Fernbreeze 2
|
Between moments of scratching, Nippostia nods at Wilson.
“I think you’re right. This itch is driving me crazy!”
She pulls out the Life Bubble spell gem, gathers everyone close, and begins casting.
The spell covers people — sorry, Domehead -- and lasts four days.
Life Bubble: You surround the target creatures with a constant and movable 1-inch shell of tolerable living conditions customized for each creature. This shell enables the targets to breathe freely in a variety of atmospheric conditions (including in corrosive, thick, thin, and toxic atmospheres), as well as underwater or in a vacuum. It also makes the targets immune to harmful gases and vapors, including inhaled diseases and poisons as well as spells with a harmful gaseous effect. In addition, the shell protects targets (and their equipment) from extreme temperatures (between –50° and 140° F) without having to attempt Fortitude saving throws, as well as extreme pressures. Life bubble doesn’t provide protection from energy damage, negative or positive energy (such as found on the Negative and Positive Energy Planes), or radiation; it also doesn’t provide the ability to see in conditions of poor visibility (such as in smoke or fog) or the ability to move or act normally in conditions that impede movement (such as underwater).
Officer Wilson
|
I think the limitation is that at level 4 you can only target four, and Domehead would be a 5th. The spell says it targets "creatures," not humanoids or anything more specific than that.
Though he's been avoiding it to conserve charge, Wilson goes ahead and activates Domehead's environmental collar as well while Nippostia casts the spell.
It uses 1 charge per day... so it's at 9/10 charges after today.

Yes, absolutely. When I edited my post right before sending, I accidentally dropped the word "four". The post should have said "The spell covers FOUR people" because she's 4th level.
