At least I think that is how it works. So I think it allows you to cast the timber spell as a cantrip at DC 18 even if you could not normally cast the spell, but you can activate it by casting ANY plant spell. If you do cast a plant spell it provides the benefits listed based on whether you attached it to armor or a weapon. What I am not sure about if if you need the arcane or primal skills.

From what I've found so far, you need to be able to cast spells to use it. Spellhearts. If your spell attack/DC is higher, you can use yours; which implies that you need to have a spell attack/DC to use it. At least, that's my interpretation -- if anyone else has a different opinion/experience, I'd be glad to hear it :)

You also need to spend 10 minutes w/ a repair kit to attach a spellheart before you can use it.

About spellhearts, the most common interpretation that I saw was that you don't need to be able to cast a spell to use it, if you can cast a spell and have the spell on the list then you can use your own DC, otherwise you use the one provided of the item.

Zenobia starts to twist around in the jug's grasp. "First time this way, a wine container grabbing me. Where is its grasp the weakest?" she wonders.

Melenia sends a Zap at both Blue and Pink. Although Pink doesn't get out of the way in time, it takes minimal damage. Blue manages to avoid the worst of the zap but it the zap doesn't seem to affect it at all.

Pink's jaws chomp down on Ebiten's arm but some divine force keeps the jaws from doing damage. Drokki's hammer lashes out and smashes the jar with a loud crack. Bits of armor fall off and the Jug appears to be weaker.

Inside the jug, Zenobia quickly composes herself and tries to slice open the jug from the fragile inside.

Cutting the jug open, she falls out, and immediately slices again at the enemy.

Zenobia gets 2 hp back since the thing is Enfeebled 2 from Glimpse of Redemption.

Immediately after Zenobia gets swallowed, a fighting fan suddenly punches through what appears to be the jar's belly. The slash gets wider until it's large enough for Zenobia to calmly slip out. As she climbs out, bits of some ceramic coating slough off the jar.

Turning, she slashes the jug again. This time, her fighting fans encounter no resistance.
