I signed up with this lady, a lvl 4 Ranger. But I can also bring a lvl 4 rogue or a lvl 3 fighter depending on party necessities.

![]() |

I was directed here to fill a spot. This is my only Core PC in tier. Another fighter! Haha.
Hopefully we get another player!

![]() |

Absolutely! There is one for each Core Class. There is even a shared folder too that has all of them in play by post code form.
Also, on a side note, I am leaving on a cruise right when this special starts. It is only five days though so I should only miss the basic introduction and the (usually specials have these) skill check part at the start.
If we only have four and two are fighters, then we need to make sure we have someone who can use a wand of CLW and maybe get a rogue. This PC can use a wand and my alternate PC is a rogue, so it really depends on who our fourth brings.

![]() |

If anybody is cool with aiming me at the pregens, I would be happy to run a cleric. That will handle the CLW.
(Also, the cruise will give me time to get my character info in my profile.)
Here ya go...
PFS 1e Pregens in PbP code. There are a bunch of typos on each pregen, so you'll need to tidy it up to your preference after you create the profile. i.e. Spaces and semicolons need to be inserted in places.

Nice!
I’ll instead bring my rogue (this was Nala the ranger).
I’ll get registered on rpg chronicles today. Thanks to the GM for running a Core session of the special!

Throughout the game you may be provided an aid token. You may use the token for a helpful effect or you may boost it and pass it along. As soon as you use or boost it, the token gets passed along, so the quicker/more often tokens are booted or used, the more often it become useful. In our game we have one token to pass around and one of the other tables is currently holding it.
See slide one (link at top labelled Slides with Information and Maps) for information on aid tokens.
This being a special, there is a house GM (he already launched things in the gameplay thread) who coordinates things between the tables (such as the passing of tokens) and makes posts that affect all the tables (such as the one in gameplay right now) and announcing when it is time to move from one part to the next.
This is a 'timed event' and all the tables will be moving on from one part to the next at the same time whether ready or not, so keeping up the pace is important.
I am a 'table GM' and am responsible for all the nitty gritty that goes on with your party and with trying to keep that aforementioned pace going.

He has a point :( Thanks for spotting that, Luke.
Norel, do you have a core character in the level range or would you be willing to run an iconic?
Or you could sign up for a game that has openings like the Oathbreaker's Die game under the FCFS tab of this signup sheet. With only 4 players I'm sure he would like a fifth.
Lots of options :)

Sobek Al Saleef wrote:@GM: How do we get Aid Tokens? Do we start with any?Another table got the token. When they use it a table will be picked to pass it to. But there is only one token so if they sit on it we will never see one.
Oh wow. Ok. I might send a message along to the other tables to use those tokens and pass them along!

The attack was based on a silly mistake. I looked at the level 1 pregen, started typing, and realized I should switch to the level 4. Then I didn't correct the attack.

Is there a full list of what does and does not provoke attacks of opportunity in this edition? I'm thinking Wilbur is probably screwed in this fight, but I want to see if there is anything I can sensibly do. Right now, I think the only thing is to turtle up and hope that makes him harder to hit so it takes the enemies longer to shift to somebody else. (Although if they do shift, he might be able to start helping.)

miteke |

Standing up will provoke, crawling will provoke too, but if you crawl at least it will not be able to trip you as you are already considered prone. You can move 5' while crawling, then you can stand up safely because you are out of reach. Of course that will take your whole turn to do as both are move actions, and you will get attacked twice at -4 AC.
Alternatively, if you stand you will also provoke, but at your normal AC. But then you take the chances of landing right back on your face with nothing to show for it as these things get a free trip attempt with every attack that lands.
Either option has risks. Being prone (or grappled) is not fun, That's why a lot of players make builds around the two maneuvers.

![]() |

I'm also assuming they both get AoOs if I crawl, two if they have Combat Reflexes.
I think I already need to dip into my healing, but I don't know what will just provoke.

![]() |

Healing wise: Channeling does NOT provoke. A Wand won’t provoke either, but drawing it might. A Cure Spell cast will provoke, unless you defensively cast it. But if you fail the defensive cast the spell is wasted.
Good news is that the wolves are slightly distracted now, but would probably still take AoO’s if you provoke.

miteke |

True. Channeling will help the wolves more than you guys right now though. You might want to invest in a spring-loaded wrist sheath if you have access. They ruled that it can be used to draw a wand with a swift action and does not provoke. But really, I would just attack the brambles with the bastard sword and escape. Also, one of you could help her. I'd allow one of you to do the slashing damage necessary to free her.

![]() |

Before I post my turn, what does the Helpful Spirits effect do?
Should I just make my attack and tthe GM adjusts accordingly?
Also, can allies slash at the grasping vines to break their friends free?

Hey, Khargrom is literally the one who brought up 'strength of character'. Up until then, Cayden assumed it was a straight-up fight, but now he isn't sure.
That said, if we commit to combat, he will participate.

![]() |

It was really just some RP to kill time until we started the fight, please don’t read too much into it. Let’s just go smash a spider.
My bad if it delayed anything, my intent was not that.

![]() |

Hey, Wilbur. It'd be really helpful to me if you add an avatar to your profile. Anything is fine. Kinda difficult to explain (ADHD issues), but, a pic of anything would be nice. Even if it's just the dice or skunk pic.

I hadn't thought about it earlier. Sorry about that, Sobek.

No worries! Thank you!
It also helps me to visualize what Sobek's teammates look like in game. ;)

I will trust Sobek's judgment on the teleportation points.
