Na'ilath floats forward, charged with arcane power, and strikes. Meleeka easily dodges the blow, though. Vanizadi sends a hail of splinters at her and two of her disciples, but she avoids taking any damage. Her disciples are not so fortunate, although one manages to dodge out of the way of most of the attack. His followup attack hits, as does Ka'elan's first strike; however, she's still up.
Siao-Siao to go!
Meleeka: AC 18 HP taken: 19

SiaoSiao
|
Siao-Siao's eyes open wide as she sees enemies charge at her party. "Aid misfits with their goals" she mutters, "Teki says not forget."
Saying a quick prayer, Siao-siao calls, "Teki, helps me helps friends!" A wave of divine energy wafts forth, giving her companions her blessing.
Remembering that she's in a battle, Siao-siao mutters something in Goblin and causes a mystic shield to manifest in front of her.

Ka'elen, you should be able to edit the map to move yourself. Let me know if you have trouble with that.
The remaining disciple Steps up, drawing a scimitar and attacking Na'ilath, connecting for 6 HP.
Round 2 (ongoing):
Meleeka unleashes a flurry of attacks against the elf fighter, who dodges or parries every one.
Ma'elo and Chén fú are up!

Ma'elo

Ma'elo drops a dagger and clutches the gash from the scimitar slash and retreats to the other side of the skirmish. Moving into a flanking position with his sword wielding brother. He does two quick thrusts.

Meleeka might not be that accurate, but her defenses are extremely good--the halfling can't lay a hand on her.
The magenta monk carefully Steps away from Ka'elen, then moves up on Na'ilath. She tries to throw some sand in the magus' eyes, but Na'ilath sees it coming and ducks out of the way. The red monk Steps into a flank on Na'ilath and strikes at him twice, hitting once for 4 HP.

Vanizadi
|
"Eat this please," Vanizadi instructs Ma'elo, as one of the blossoms in his aura bursts into a berry and drops into the elf's hand, "It will heal you."
"This will not heal you," he adds to Meleeka, as he swings a twig that grows into a wooden club at her. "Though that option does remain if you cease your attack."
◆ Fresh Produce. If Ma'elo eats it with an Interact action he recovers hp healing: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 and gains Void Resistance 2 for 10 minutes.
◆◆ Elemental Blast: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 1 = 29 for bludgeoning damage: 1d8 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 4 = 9; crit for 18! Vanizadi's temp hp would expire, but he regains them for using a two-action wood impulse again.
| DM Carbide |
Well, that's unambiguous.
Meleeka falls to Vanizadi's potent attack. The two remaining disciples immediately surrender.
Out of combat!
Meleeka is carrying a key on a chain around her neck.
Chén fú
|
Chén fú lifts the key and turns to the acolytes.
"Where is the lock that this fits to?"
| DM Carbide |
One points at the brass double doors off of the entryway.
Vanizadi
|
"I cannot heal unconscious people with fruit. It can be done with potions or elixirs, but stuffing fruit down people's throats while they are unconscious tends to cause additional complications even if those fruits are infused with healing energy. I can attempt to stem their bleeding, however."
Which is fine. Vanizadi doesn't particularly want the violent brute who attacked them unprovoked to regain consciousness.
He treats her first, as she went down most brutally. ...but perhaps he should have stared with the disciples, who'd been down longer and were less guilty.
Small fruits then blossom in the hands of everyone who's injured but conscious. "Eat these, they'll help."
Assuming we aren't just treating them as dead:
Medicine to Stabilize Meleeka: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Medicine to Stabilize Green: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Oh, that's a crit fail if she's Dying 3.

Medicine to Stabilize Black: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Second attempt Medicine to Stabilize Black, if possible: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Fresh Produce for everyone!
Chén fú

Being uninjured, Chén heads towards the door and starts listening as the healing takes place, parking himself off to the side of the opening.
I do not see anything that is obviously a door in the room.

Being uninjured, Chén heads towards the door and starts listening as the healing takes place, parking himself off to the side of the opening.
I do not see anything that is obviously a door in the room.
It's off the room you started in, to the north of where you were fighting.
Chén fú hears nothing at the doors.
SiaoSiao
|
Siaosiao helps with the healing and stabilizing.
Medicine: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Shocked at accidentally cutting something major, she casts a spell to undo the damage.

Thanks to the quick actions of the party, none of the enemies die. When Meleeka regains consciousness, a storm of different emotions crosses her face, ending in shame. She kowtows to the four disciples, her forehead to the ground. "I have failed you. Find a better teacher, for I am no master." She unbinds her handwraps and leaves them on the stone floor as she stands. "I am not worthy to keep He-Who-Waits. Take it, and everything else in the reliquary. Watch out for the phoenix rune traps. Farewell."
Unless anyone tries to stop them, Meleeka and the disciples will leave.
Chén fú
|
Chén fú will do something if the others do not, but since he is a bit separated from the party will wait until the master crosses the room he is in.
| Culdeldin |
Ka'elen steps forward into their path. "Unfortunately, we are not done here. You must remain until all had been resolved." he speaks firmly, "We must recover what you have taken, and then you must answer for the taking"
"I will watch the thieves while those of you, who are more familiar with traps and trickery, recover the stolen items."
If necessary, intimidation: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
| DM Carbide |
Ka'elen, by what authority are you attempting to arrest her? Unless specified in the scenario, Pathfinders have no particular legal standing. Are you attempting to detain the disciples as well, and if so on what grounds? (Also, you're posting under another name.)
Na'ilath, give me a Diplomacy check.
Ma'elo
|
The rakish Tian elf chuckles from his spot against the wall. "Or, brother, they stick around until we find items we cane for." As he says this, a shadowy throwing dagger coalesces in his hand. He then waves it around a little suggestively.
| DM Carbide |
That's definitive.
The woman sighs. "Because it belonged to my family, many years ago. You see, when I was a student at the Monastery of Unblinking Flame, I found some scrolls in a seldom-visited archive--scrolls that had been written by one of my ancestors, detailing the Rain of Embers--a martial arts style they had developed to honor the sacrifice of the phoenix Pyralisia. Full of pride in my heritage, I showed them to my master. He ordered me to destroy the scrolls, and to speak no more of it. I was furious for his dishonoring of my family, but kept my peace. I prepared false scrolls and burned them, then studied the originals in secret. One of the techniques in the scrolls used the statue One-Who-Waits as a training aid, so clearly it must once have belonged to my ancestors. When I broke into the Pathfinder Society lodge, I took only those items that were my heritage.
"But I have failed my students and my family. Don't blame my former students for what I did, as they knew nothing of it. You have shown yourselves worthy to reclaim what I took. Here, I will show you, and you may judge for yourselves."
Unless anyone stops her, she takes back the key and opens the double doors. Beyond is what apparently used to be the bathhouse. There are several pools of stagnant water, but everyone can see the statue on a pedestal in an alcove on the north wall, just above a large trunk. Inside the trunk are six scrolls, together with an iron scepter topped by a sculpture of a talon clutching an orb that glows as if white-hot; two leather flasks; and a journal of much more recent vintage.
The scepter is on the list.
Chén fú
|
"Ah, a most difficult dilemna."
Chen cracks open the journal and after looking at the master for approval.
| DM Carbide |
The journal is her diary of sorts. It goes into the story she just told you in greater detail, but the broad strokes are the same.
Chén fú
|
How about the scrolls. Are they magical or can they be read by a lowly monk?
| DM Carbide |
They are not magical, and can indeed be read by a monk...although the subject matter is somewhat recondite. From his quick read-through, Chén fú figures that given time he could figure out how to use the Rain of Embers kata.
Which is to say, it's an option for a monk feat if you have the chronicle.
Chén fú
|
Chén fú will leave the other items for the others to investigate. He will curiously snag the scrolls if allowed.
"Shall we look around for the other missing items?"
Is the master the thief or did the thief look different? I'm assuming not.
| DM Carbide |
There are no other listed items to be found. However, Meleeka was said to have traded some items for passage, and the list was not guaranteed free of error.
| DM Carbide |
In the interests of moving things along:
Unable to verify that all items have been found, the party takes Meleeka back to the Venture-Captain, who takes charge of her and informs you that with what you've returned they've accounted for everything that was missing.
