Scratch is here. What tier are we going to end up in? I'd rather not have to play up into 5-6 as a lvl 4. Too much of a power jump for my liking.

Checking in with Rhaegal, who leans far into his Kobold Dragon heritage

FYI, I re-skin some of Rhaegal's spellcasting as coming from his mouth as a type of breath weapon. Similar with other aspects of his abilities such as his Arcane Sense as "smelling" magic. Let me know if this causes any issues.

I don't have lower lvl PC available. But if this is a concern I could leave the table and as 5 PC team you would be in the low tier.

No no, not a reason to leave the table. Just something that I was pondering as a possible concern since I imagine the difficulty in a scenario jumps considerably to adjust for the large PC strength increase from 4th to 5th. Perhaps its not as large as I imagine, not having playing any characters past 4th yet.

I always love playing with Farol!

There are five total rounds for the Influence subsystem, so your group is basically halfway through and you have two of the five tale fragments. I will note that your secondary success condition is collecting all five parts of the tale.

Having the Secondary success condition solely based on this section is one of the things I don't really like about this scenario.

I'll likely put out a demo somewhere's near me, maybe in the path, or on a tree next to the path once I know where people are going to be positioned. Also, are we going to open up on them on the other side of the river? I would assume anything that is croc like can swim well.

As you scout the area, you will know that the areas with trees are greater difficult terrain.
The water isn’t too deep—it is difficult terrain, but Small or larger creatures don’t need Athletics checks to Swim.

We have:

- gunslinger with range weapon
- Tengu who is a human with crossbow
- Zazu - wizard having range spells
- Mushroom-man having range spells
- Rhaegal - having range spells, for funsies, you could change into a shark and attack them while crossing the river ;) (how often can you turn into a shark, when they leave the river you would just change back and blast with spells) ;)
- Rannarix - who is a ranger but flurry with melee weapons, he has a bola and shortbow

I can definitely do this. If I choose Shark, then I can follow them onto land, but it's larger damage. Frog I could keep after them and it has reach. Or I can just drop the Wild Shape and use spells again.

My issue with setting that up is I can only remote detonate within 30 feet. It also does not trigger unless something moves through that square. Having it on this side will give us an extra surprise, and hopefully be able to drop a tree to block the path if that may help.

Mostly I wanted to blow things up with the hopes of adding in some extra splash damage.
