Just got this book and it looks great. I know this is mostly a PF forum - any interest in this campaign? If so, I'll post a timeline and character creation guidelines.
Full disclosure - I'm more interested in the role than the roll. I would want players that could commit to interacting with each other and the world, not just munchkins out to maximize damage and minimize storytelling.

Hey, I'd be very interested. I've played PF1 for years, but am only just starting to play 5e -- running Ghosts of Saltmarsh on Roll20 with a group. I've always wanted to play an Underdark campaign, but never got a chance to. Prefer roleplay and story heavy games, so this might be a good fit all around if you're still looking for a player.

I want to play as a drow who grew up on the surface in the service of the goddess Eilistraee. I understand that this is an adventure about drow and underdark, so creatures from the underworld are (probably) not recommended; but this drow is absolutely a child of the surface, who has only heard from legends what darkness can wait below. He is definitely one step away from the alignment of his goddess (most likely NG or CG). Further options may be different. Twilight Priest, Paladin, Warlock or Sorcerer with a Celestial Patron/Bloodline etc. But from a role-playing point of view, I would like to play the path of such a character.

Still thinking wizard, but was wanting to play something planes related. So how about a githzerai? He was summoned to the Material by a group of elven conjurers just as they were attacked and slain by the drow. Being a native of Limbo, he might have a particular perspective into the chaotic things happening around the Underdark...

Great, I'll get it all set tonight. I like doing bullet point backgrounds so I can reference easily and use for in-game writeups, if that works for you. 5-6 one sentence story notes and personality quirks, just enough to get me inspired. Check some of my active alias' to see what I mean.
Here's also a few samples of semi-recent posts if you'd like a taste of my style:
Monk unlocks ki
Thief gets turned into pudding
Wizard battles children
I don't always post multiple paragraphs, sometimes quality over quantity matters. The muse is fickle and I'm simply not talented! But I can guarantee 1/post per day, every day including weekends. :)

Mightypions submission here, not fully done yet, just wanted to ensure it is mostly valid:
TLDR concept:
Background:
--Was on the run because she made someone important very unhappy about a popular poet by her
--Captured by drow
--Relatively well off, her family always having been fond of shadows (Variant human, Shadow touched feat at level 1, seems more fun then "strong feats" like +2 AC)
Strengths:
--Starts as hexblade, mostly because CHA to attack and damage is so useful, and then goes into Bard for the rest.
--Already has 5 proficiencys, will get 3 more at level 2 when she starts getting into bard.
--Good face
--Unsure about which college to go for.
--Should be fine in melee once she gets some gear, can contribute before by eldritch blasting.
--Weaknesses: Weak saves vs STR, Int, Wis.
--No Darkvision

Alexandra looks good so far, I love a riské poet.
As far as backgrounds go, that's totally up to you. I don't care if it's bullet points, a novel, or something in between. I would like to see the traits, bonds, ideals and flaws, as I'll be using that for inspiration.
I'm hoping for a post at least every other day - more is always great, but we all have lives. I know weekends are better for some and worse for some, so I don't have expectations around what days people are posting.
My main hope is that in most of your posts, you do something interactive with somebody else. Long inner monologues/reveries are fine, but they don't open things up to the other characters.
Looks like so far we have
Githzerai wizard
Human hexblade/bard
Human barbarian
Drow holy person of some sort.
Haven't heard further from Phaedre, hopefully she's still in.
I know it's tough to keep track of recruitment threads sometimes, until you're dotted in to the gameplay tab. So I'll open that up, so y'all can find this in your campaigns.
Looking great so far!

There is now a short background blurb why she was on the run, as well as her defining personality traits.
I dont want to overdefine her and react organically to how the new situation presents itself. She is fairly young, her incredibly cocky character will likely to subject to change. Or maybe not, depending on how well she masters the new situation.

Hi all, I can definitely do every other day, and probably every day once we get rolling.
Given the alternate ability score distribution (i.e. picking, instead of the predefined racial), I was going to play against type a bit and play a Dwarf rogue, probably leaning towards arcane trickster down the road.
Ksenia Frostforge is a dwarf of a fallen citadel, her clan scattered out among human towns after duergar captured and destroyed their home a generation ago. She barely remembers a childhood before exile among humans with her grandfather, who settled in the slums of a large trading port.
To the chagrin of her grandfather, she never had much use for the forge or talent with the classic dwarf arts and found herself more and more drawn to the rougher taverns and dockside dives where enterprising hands could liberate a purse or two. Always from those who deserved it! Or seemed to.
But it was also in those taverns that she found her personal manifestation of dwarven craftsmanship - in the culinary. The perfection of spice, the mastery of searing. She learned everything she could from the old ship's cook who ran the kitchens of her favorite dive. Her grandfather, disappointed she would not take up the forge, satisfied himself with the rationalization that between the iron of the skillet and the fires of the hearth, the kitchen was basically an odd forge and would thus do.
And so it was that Ksenia found herself in the wilds a day's hike from the port, searching out a particularly fine variety of gnome's head mushroom in the back of some damp caves. And before she knew it ... awoke in the Underdark.

Ziyad |
mishima here with complete character. Also dot-deleted in gameplay, thanks for that.
★ In the chaos of Limbo, even the most base creature can manifest thought into form...such as a surface to walk on. The Githzerai stabilize larger pockets of relative permanence, allowing structures and civilization (small villages) by more focused concentration and experts of practiced meditation dedicated to the task. Ziyad was one of these such gi'korath, or 'students of manifestation'.
★ These curious hidden zones of order in the plane of chaos were theorized 1000s of years ago by the elves of Toril...whispered in the rumors of demons, mind flayers, and spelljammers. More recently, efforts were made by a small but persistent cabal of arcane elite, planar researchers wanting to make contact. For months, their work from across the Multiverse caused Ziyad to experience dreams of this alien race (elves) reaching out to him with direct questions and implanting more subtle manipulative thoughts in waking visions to extract information.
★ This elven incursion into the Githzerai's realm bore great fruit for the magi, and ultimately culminated in Ziyad being forcefully pulled by newly created summoning magics through to Faerun. His people would later call his disappearance the curse of jez'rathki (or 'slipping through the cracks').
★ By some final twist of fate or choas, before the summoning could formally complete the elven wizards were attacked and slain by a drow hunting party. And so one captor was replaced with another...one who had no desire, let alone knowledge, to send him back. Curiously, the dreams and visions sent by the slain elves did not cease...

I'll work on my character this weekend, if you don't mind. The reason is funny - I have a lot of books on 5e in hardcover (although I play in 5e very rarely, it just so happened that my friends choose them according to my wishlist), and I really want to create a character finally holding them in my hands! )) I'm away now and I'll probably be home on Sunday.

Angie H |

Ah, the joy of a fresh hardcover in your hands! Yes, Sunday is fine. We'll aim to start early next week.
I've put some house rules up under the campaign info tab, take a look at those and ask if you have any questions or concerns. There's a link to the serious injuries table, which I'm curious to play with, but only if you all would like to.
I've linked to some pics of your fellow prisoners, and I'll likely be getting a map of the prisoner section up this weekend.
