the Foretelling:

The tainted man rides the lightning in the mountains of mist.

Unsworn Lord, inverted steel, takes shelter amongst those that thought to fight fire with fire

north and north, trapped under ice, airach proflean awakens at Callandor's sign

south and south, the hunters must go, held and escape agit'dredan, they bring back a fate.

creeping death upon the pattern, it descends upon the mirk. one young soul, a thread to be snipped, sacrifice the one for all

mental anguish, soul destruction, everything fades to black, absolution is only sought within tel'aran'rhiod

oasis upon the plains, caught between the white and the shine; the water tastes of iron and flows red, the Dragon's answer for whom the bell tolls

Messenger of fear in sight, dark deception kills the Light. Out from ruins once possessed, fallen city, living death. Lurking beneath the sea, great old one, answers the call of his name

Hi Rizzen! How are you?

Yeah, I've been absent here quite a while. Been a crazy year or two, but I'm doing well. As it happens recently I've been ummm... thoroughly disgusted over here for reasons that may or may not involve a certain dark entity called Ama'zon. I was playing with the idea of starting up a round of the audiobooks but then I woke up this morning with the out-of-the-blue thought "you know, I would almost bet Rizzen might be starting up something..." hopped on to see and lo and behold, here we are. lol

Weavsight to learn Bond Warder: DC 25: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Rizzen, when you say "yes to background skills" are you referring to background skills as done in the WoT book, or are you talking about Pathfinder's optional system of background skills?

Also, is anyone doing a wolfbrother? I thought I saw one or two mentioned when skimming through but didn't see it mentioned on Rizzen's list.

Anyway, a bit of spitballing...

Am somewhat contemplating resurrecting Isa, but I may hold off on her as I'm not sure my rolled stats would portray her well and an Aiel sworn to the hunt is a little difficult to explain anyway, especially since we already have one of those. Unless maybe she knows Ceirn and is following him for some story reason.

We have a noble, a couple channelers, and swordsmen, so an archer or wanderer for the skills seems good for rounding out the party. Hmmm... another idea is maybe a Whitecloak deserter who came from a poor family and mostly joined up for the 3 square meals and the steady pay but is now trying to get away from the Altaran debacles.... or on the run because his eyes suddenly turned golden and the questioners have... questions...

HA! That is too funny!

Yup. i too had the same thoughts, and even had the thought What the? how are they screwing that up?! Even I, joe-schmo, was able to do a decent campaign based off of the books. and more importantly! The players had an awesome time with it!

Yeah, I feel your pain Fia. And would be glad to see you in the group.

I should probably find out what those are... I haven't played pure Pathfinder in... years, at this point.

Fiallain, I think we could accommodate an Ogier pretty well, or either a roguish type or streetwise person, like a thiefcatcher, as we're probably light on those kind of skills.

Edit:[/ooc] Adroushan, I think you only get one selection from 'Equipment' Background. And sadly their is no generic 'kit' available, but I would recommend starting with:

Belt Pouch: 1 mk. 1 lbs.
Backpack 2 mk. 2 lbs.
in Backpack
Bedroll: 1 sp. 5 lbs.
Winter Banket 5 sp. 3 lbs.
Trail rations (10 days) 5 mk. 10 lbs.
Waterskin: 1 mk. 4 lbs.
Hemp rope (50 ft.) 1 mk. 10 lbs.
torch @ 10: 1 sp. 10 lbs.
Flint and Steel: 1 mk. n/a
Subtotal: 11.7 mk. 45 lbs.

I have heard your advice and have promptly made the adjustments...lol.

Adroushan is a caster in my eyes, so I have purposely avoided any combat choices for him. I may tinker with his Talent(s) choice(s), but He was a former medical doctor, disgraced because of his drinking (which unBlocks him). He has decided to make a fresh start by venturing to Illian to take the oath for Hunters of the Horn. He has been on the wagon for a month....

Having Kunala as a sponsor makes sense to me also. He may have even been a patient of Adroushan's over the years and may even know his secret...

EDIT: Adroushan is a bit roguish....lol. I feel like we need an Ogier to complete us.
Not assuming we all get in...

EDIT: Actually, Kunala may have hired Adroushan to travel with him to Illian for medical purposes. Adroushan will be accidently caught up in the whole thing then; for his reasons for departing Ebou Dar were a bit less honorable?....lol.

dorian grey: Adroshan, male wilder.

Well, five of us with completed characters and he said he'd take six...

Fiallain, in the finished category we don't have an Ogier or a wolf brother, but I'd recommend playing whatever you like.

Adroushan happy for Kunala to hire you in the city to go with him. His father lives there almost full-time so maybe your a doctor his father recommended. I'll finish Kunala's back story on Monday, took the weekend to do other stuff.

So do we need a wagon? Something covered like a tinkers wagon, or are we just going to ride horses and stay at inns or camping?

Scarab Sages

If only I wasnt dying!

figuratively not literally. Im always down for a rizzenmagus game, Love WoT but definitely too ill to be much help at the moment. Will be watching for sure though!

At 57 lbs of encumbrances, Adroushan would appreciate a wagon...lol.

I altered a Feat. I dropped Multiweave (for now) for Extra Talent (Warding).
I am liking those two for him.

Talent: [2]
Healing and Warding

Also, purchased 2 medicine kits to actually perform his Doctor duties...i said Matt, but not which Matt...lol.

EDIT: Actually, his being a Doctor has afforded him an abundance of coin, as magic items are not available...

I am also considering switching his Dex and Int for more Knowledge skills....

Adroushan, let me know if there is any 'supplies' you need Kunala to finance.

Ok, here's Fiallain's first attempt at an Ogier. Still have a few details to wrap up, but I'll have to do that after work tomorrow. I think it's mainly just equipment purchases and choosing which skill to apply skill focus to. Not sure I'm sold on the name either but we'll see.

Ok, sneaking in under the deadline is my character. She's an armsman who was raised by the Children of the Light for her unique 'talents' but fled and has joined the Hunt for the Horn hoping to gain the power/allies required that the Whitecloaks will finally stop hunting her.

Do let me know if there are any issues - it's been a long time since I tried building a WoT character.

Background
--------------------
”It is a strange thing to have one of the most powerful women in the world declare that you cannot exist.”

Luce was born as Mordrellen in Baerlon, the daughter of two middling prosperous merchants who dealt mostly in wool and lumber and wished to honor the queen with the birth of their first daughter. Hard working and sensible they amassed a credible fortune, which translated into a fine house, meat on the table at every meal and toys for their children.

Unfortunately, when Mordrellen contracted bone-break fever her parents reputation and money was useless. Every doctor they summoned gave the same advice, ‘Make her comfortable and let her return to the light as easily as she may’. Desperate to save their daughter’s life her parents sought out the witches of the White Tower, the Aes Sedai.

Fortunately for them a sister named Carelyn was passing through Baerlon and, after extracting various promises of future favors from Mordrellen’s parents, came to see the child, expecting little more than a simple healing which even she, a white ajah, would not find excessively taxing. Her surprise when her healing weaves simply dissipated on the child’s writhing body was almost impossible to describe and Carelyn quickly sent for herbs and other medicines, determined to save the child, not to fulfill her promise but because losing the chance to study her was unthinkable.

A long night and longer day followed but Mordrellen’s fever eventually broke and Carelyn left her patient to renegotiate her agreement with the parents.

”The Light has plans for us all child, and we would not leave an innocent in the hands of the witches.”

Two months later Carelyn left Baerlon with a seven year old girl in tow. The Aes Sedai had convinced Mordrellen’s parents that her daughter had a severe condition, one that could be temporarily healed but would inevitably relapse and be fatal without attention from the greatest healers of the White Tower. Out of the kindness of her heart she offered to take the girl herself and swore that she would protect the child as her own. Reassured by the word of an Aes Sedai Mordrellen’s parents let her go, along with a maid-servant, and the three women left Baerlon with a solemn warder leading them and heartfelt thanks floating in their wake.

Carelyn’s words were worth little, a sister of the Black Ajah she had long been free of the Three Oaths, and her tale of illness was just that – a tale. Mordrellen was a curiosity to her, and perhaps in time a weapon for her master. Fortunately for the child, if not her companions, Carelyn’s warder was ambushed and slain, leading the Aes Sedai into a trap set by the Children of the Light.

Experienced in the ways of the ‘witches’ the Children crippled Carelyn and slew the maid servant almost at once before questioning the Aes Sedai in exacting and excruciating detail. They were particularly interested in Mordrellen, was she Carelyn’s daughter? Could she channel? Why was she travelling with a witch? When Carelyn eventually revealed the girl’s immunity to the One Power the Questioner leading the group, named Child Hartor, realized that the little girl was a gift from the Light itself.

”I name you Luce, Daughter of the Light. You will cleanse this world of the witches and all those who walk in the Light shall remember you.”

And so Luce grew up in Amadacia. For the first few years she was placed with a foster family but once she turned twelve she was taken into the Children as a squire, much like many other boys her age. Confident in her destiny the Children spared no pains training Luce, and spared her no pain either. She learned fighting, riding and archery alongside her fellow squires, but when they had to polish armor and shine boots she was given lessons in languages until she could speak the Old Tongue fluently and pass as a native from any number of nations.

Finally, just after her twentieth birthday, Luce was given a present, a lovely suit of white armor designed especially for her, and her first mission. Travelling with her ‘father’ Hartor, the pair journeyed into Tear where Whitecloak intelligence had located an elderly Aes Sedai living in seclusion.

“Take your blades and show her the purity of the Light.” Hartor commanded. “I will wait here for your victory.”

Overpowering the woman was a simple matter but as Luce gazed into the old woman’s eyes she saw no darkness, no evil. She’d had ample experience of both, squiring in battles against trolloc bands in the countryside and even in camp, when men riding high on emotion looked on her with less than brotherly eyes.

“Go in the Light.” She whispered, “And pray for me.”

Raising her blades against Hartor was more difficult than she had ever expected but Luce beat him and fled with both horses, riding into north into the grasslands and as far from Amadacia as she could.

For the last four years Luce has been hounded by the Whitecloaks and finally she fled to Illian. The great crowds drawn to the Hunt for the Horn are a perfect place to lose oneself and perhaps, if the Light shines upon her, find allies who will help her win free of the Children once and for all.

We lost our Aes Sedai. But if you're not familiar with the books I'd recommend something else.

Also, we need someone who can post four or five times during the week.
