Vardarel prepares himself for danger. He studies the Ape-shaped topiary and realizes it can resist piercing damage pretty easily. Clover mentioned how flammable they are, indicating a weakness to fire. He's certain the creatures have poor willpower.
The Ape topiary has extra long limbs, 10 feet long. It seems to be the only topiary that Bludgeons its target. The others pierce.
Roark, meanwhile shakes his tailfeathers. The plants seem uninterested. So he lights the Mantis on fire, noting it takes extra damage from the flames.

Stitch looks back and forth between the ape and mantis, knowing he and Meat Wagon are in a tight spot "Never thought a bunch of overgrown shrubbery would get the best of us Meaty.. and it damn well ain't gonna happen today!" He draws his clan pistol and orders Meat Wagon "Trim that bush!" Pointing at the mantis.
Lot going on there. So burned my hero point, ◆ Haphazard Repair crit heals 60hp? to Meat but then he takes 4 fire damage, so all in all at 42/46. ◆ Draw gun, ◆ Command. Meat Wagon is unstable, so no belching fire.

The clan pistol's bullet doesn't pierce as hard as Stitch hoped, but Meat Wagon crushes the topiary's remains under its bumper. Didn't those coastal Wizards offer a bounty for getting rid of Owlbears in other realms?
Realizing Clover could use some assistance, Meat Wagon drives towards her and the Unicorn-shaped topiary.
