The carriage is a well-appointed luxury passenger car filled with Ixo Syndicate’s finest. Here, well dressed passengers fill a lounge area with a fragrant haze of cigar smoke, conversing with each other from upholstered leather chairs and engaging in a lively game of skimmer around a card table. At the bar, an android bartender diligently mixes drinks as they’re ordered. Six security guards keep watch over the proceedings.
i.e. this is not a place for a fight...
Aramesh identifies Brom Lancaster, the head of security and he-who-has-the-keycard-of-power, sitting at the man. A throng of well armed bodyguards surround him, however perhaps more important than them is the man he is speaking with... Royce Flynn...
Some of you may recognise him from your background. Otherwise you can try a culture check.
The self-styled “gentleman bandit” Royce Flynn, has made a name for himself by swooping in on jobs in progress and snatching the spoils. This has left more than a few unlucky burglars not only empty-handed but on the hook for crimes they technically never got the chance to commit.
Surely he is after the same thing you are!
I'll give you a day or so to discuss how you want to approach this. You can play skimmer while you suss out the situation if you like, that would be a set of bluff, intimidate and sense motive checks.
Mechanically after posting your initial reaction we will go into "rounds" but they are not combat rounds. Essentially you need to pick one of seven different roles, although one of you must pick "conversationalist". You can alternate between different roles from turn to turn, apart from your conversationalist.
I'll spoiler the roles in the header for ease of reference during this section.

Barat isn't much one for games...or conversation...or a lot of things. When he comes into the fancy car, he pauses in the doorway before taking an out of the way spot and watching for trouble. Whose map will look oddly familiar..
You enter a crowded cargo car. Odd crates are everywhere, and the one you want is right on the bottom of a stack of them. Luckily there is a grav crane you could you... or you could just lift them.
Of course there are lot of other crates around as well...
STR check to move the crates by hand, computers or engineering check to get the crane to do the work for you.

Friendly Neighborhood Pregen |

Excellent pull Elena! Aramesh compliments the SRO once they're alone. Straight out of the textbook. Loved the hand-off too, smart to always keeping the ball moving.
They smile as they go to another crane console to try and dig out the prize faster. Almost there. Just don't screw it up now... Barat: keep an eye on the door. They say over their shoulder. Royce is a scavenger, and a sore loser besides. I don't think even he'd be so crass as to directly just rat us out, but there's no way he isn't going to be planning something.

Kevan and Aramesh work the Grav crane. It sends a directed line of gravitational energy to easily lift the top crate off the pile. Carefully putting it down, they then direct it to the next crate which is also easily moved. Finally the one you want is accessible.
The only question now is... how to open the roof to get your heist into the coptor...

He does the same once their in the cargo car, only eyeing the crates and trying to determine if he can lift one for a few moments before Kevan and Aramesh get to work the technological way.
Then, he turns his attention to the way they came, keeping a watch as the crates are moved and as Ina looks for a door.

Friendly Neighborhood Pregen |

Arda, get ready for inbound. Aramesh says into his comms. Got a nice gift for you, just dealing with the wrapping.
Too much to hope that Enercopter has some cables that could be hooked to this when we get the roof off?

![]() |

The computer terminal looks like it could probably open the roof, if only you had a code for it.... which is likely on that datapad you lifted...

![]() |

Kevan quickly lifts the code from the datapad nd puts it into the computer.
At first, nothing happens. Suddenly, dozens of sharp mechanical clicks snap loudly as the magnetic locks on every container in the car disengage simultaneously. A signal light above the far door illuminates and spins rapidly, accompanied by an ear-piercing klaxon wail. A moment later, the din is compounded by a grinding noise followed by the massive bay doors in the roof sliding open.
There’s a ringing clang as the lid of the huge crate on the other side of the crane suddenly crashes to the floor. Clearly printed in large letters on the metal are the words: “HANDLE WITH CARE: LIVE ANIMAL.”
A massive mountain eel flops out. A Massive and very angry mountain eel.
